ScoreKeeper Shows You Where To Download Elfman's "Alice's Theme" For FREE!

Published at:  Mar 03, 2010 10:39:23 AM CST

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here with a quick note to let you know that you can download "Alice's Theme" from Danny Elfman's ALICE IN WONDERLAND (2010) for free courtesy of Amazon.com.

Download it HERE.

I absolutely adore this score. It pushed all the right buttons for me and affirmed many reasons why I'm such an admirer of Danny Elfman's work. "Alice's Theme" is truly a highlight of the overall work but not the only one. The score is riddled with fantasy, adventure, and some of the more riveting action scoring I've heard from Elfman in some time.

With ALICE IN WONDERLAND, he's definitely nestling himself firmly in a definable 12/8 composing phase as many of his more recent scores (especially his fantasy scores) feature variants of triple meter. Wether you're attracted to or repulsed by Elfman's eclectic style its hard to deny the perfect canvas that ALICE IN WONDERLAND offers him.

Download the free track. It's pretty damn cool.

    A Loyalist's Opinion

    by jacopo

As an unabashed Carroll loyalist, I can honestly say that this is the PERFECT treatment I have ever heard Alice receive musically. BEAUTIFUL! BRILLIANT!

I think Elfman and Burton see Alice for who she truly is: a girl who has been trust into a world as foreign to her as it is dangerous. She essentially take a red pill without being offered a choice. She gets lost. She feels alone. She cries... and yet she pulls herself up, and continues her journey. She ENDURES.

Again, MAGNIFICENT song, and I cannot wait to see the muse behind the music.

    It was okay.

    by dharma4

The track that is. I think I can easily compare this track to the film: interesting to listen, but nothing original. The vocals saying "Alice" was tiring.

    Miss the old days

    by fletch93

That was just..ummmm.. boring. Not bad but dull IMO. I miss Elfman's fun stuff from the old days like Beetlejuice and even lesser known work like Midnight Run. (the movie itself is not lesser known) YEAH REALLY! He did music for that. Back when you didn't instantly know it was Danny Elfman it was more like 'thats good stuff, need to find out who the composer was'.

Shouldn't it be called the Mad Hatter in Wonderland...

    by chocolatejeebus

...since he's apparently the only character in this movie? I realize Disney probably had to pay Depp a shitload and want to get him out there, but when your MAIN character isn't anywhere to be seen it makes me wonder.

Depp is a known quantity for the audience. Mia Wasikowska isn't, unfortunately. People need to watch the first season of In Treatment.

Classic Elfman! And I like the freshness of this one despite the tone familiarity. Enchantingly creepy.

Sounds like Elfman hit a home run with this one. Sounds like his old work but somehow completely fresh at the same time.

You can download the song w/o Amazon's shitty software. The option is small and out of the way but it's there. Doesn't make up for the fact that the song is kinda BLAND.

The Alice theme sounds like stuff that was recycled from the Spider-Man theme.
