Learn Who Hosts The Next Three SNLs!! Hint: Not Betty White!!
I am – Hercules!!
I don’t know why the Internet decided 88-year-old Betty White should host “Saturday Night Live.” I love Betty; there aren’t a lot of 22-year-olds who can sell a gag like she can. But don’t the talkbackers assure us every week that SNL has been for years unfunny and boring and not worth anyone’s valuable time? Why doesn’t the Internet petition Adult Swim to put Betty on a more “with it” show like “Tim & Eric,” which Entertainment Weekly contends is funnier than SNL? Imagine the sparks that would fly when she goes head to head with that Spaghett guy?
Were I running SNL, I’d have Betty on tonight, anxiously hanging around backstage, mocking and disparaging the people who did get the nod to host.
Speaking of whom? Look! Press release!
UPCOMING SHOWS:
Feb. 27: Jennifer Lopez/Jennifer Lopez;
March 6: Zach Galifianakis/Vampire Weekend;
March 13: Jude Law/ Pearl Jam
New York, NY - February 24, 2010 - "Saturday Night Live" continues with three back-to-back original shows starting February 27 with Jennifer Lopez pulling double duty for the second time as host and musical guest.
Comedian Zach Galifianakis will make his SNL hosting debut March 6. Known for his hilariously unconventional stand-up style and off-beat comedy, Galifianakis has emerged as one of today’s most talked about up-and-coming actors after starring in 2009’s Golden Globe winning comedy, “The Hangover.” Galifianakis has also appeared in HBO’s series “Bored To Death,” “Into The Wild,” G-Force,” and the Oscar nominated drama, “Up In The Air.” He will next be seen later this year alongside Robert Downey Jr. in the feature film, “Due Date.”
Joining Galifianakis on March 6, Vampire Weekend makes their second SNL appearance. Formed while studying at Columbia University, this eclectic quartet burst onto the music scene with a deafening amount of buzz. Their self-titled debut in 2008 received universal acclaim, debuted in the Top 20 on the Billboard Album chart and has recently gone gold. The band's sophomore album, "Contra," was released on January 12th and debuted at number one on the Billboard charts.
Academy-award nominated Actor Jude Law hosts the March 13th show. He will next be seen in the sci-fi comedy “Repo Men” March 19, also starring Liev Schreiber and Forest Whitaker. Law, who has earned Academy Award nominations for his performances in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and “Cold Mountain,” recently starred alongside Robert Downey Jr. in “Sherlock Holmes.” Law’s credits include “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus,” “Alfie,” “The Holiday,” and his recent performance on Broadway in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.”
One of the most popular and influential rock bands of the past two decades, Pearl Jam makes their fourth SNL appearance in celebration of their new, self-released ninth studio album, "Backspacer." According to Rolling Stone, their latest album "backspaces to that boyish spirit, with the shortest, tightest, punkiest tunes they've ever banged out.” The self-released Backspacer debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, and its second single, “Just Breathe,” recently reached number one on the AAA Radio Chart. Since their best-selling debut studio album "Ten," the Seattle quintet continues to receive critical acclaim. Pearl Jam's songs, including "Alive,” "Even Flow," and “Better Man” have become modern classics, and the band continues to remain a major force in rock and roll.
"Saturday Night Live" is from SNL Studios in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels. Steve Higgins and Marci Klein are producers. Ken Aymong is supervising producer. Seth Meyers is head writer. Don Roy King directs.
Aren’t the Olympics still on? Why is there a new SNL on NBC tonight?

I wonder if he'll beat her (again) if a joke falls flat. And Galifakinasikinisis is about as funny as cancer. Underwhelmed.
-
I saw him a few nights ago in Martin McDonagh's "A Behanding in Spokane." Though not McDonagh's best, it was really great and Walken was spectacular. Though to be fair, Sam Rockwell stole the show out from under him. So Walken is going to be in New York doing this play through June. He'll be too busy with the play to host a full show, but he could do a cameo appearance. The man is fantastic. Though I wouldn't wish this awful season of SNL on anyone. Betty White is lucky she isn't hosting. It would kill her.
-
I'm sure a quick google search of Betty White would clear that up, but I don't much care. And of all the contributors, Herc seems the most sensitive to talkbackers. Though it's nice that he pays attention.
-
Maybe, just maybe, I might Tivo Jude Law but J Lo and that unfunny fat fuck from the shitty Hangover movie no thanks.
-
Is this some new meme that flew under my radar? Some 2010 version of snakes on a plane? What's the deal?
-
They run out of semi-charismatic sports stars already?
-
I don't know what Entertainment Weekly has to say about a great many things as I don't read that magazine, but I will have to say they are dead on the money by assessing Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! as a funnier show that SNL. But that's no huge knock on SNL - Tim and Eric is funnier than every other show on TV as well. Season Cinco starts on Sunday. How about a talk-back about Tim and Eric Herc? I mean, it's only one of the top three or four shows on the television these days. It's way better than the Venture Brothers (which is OK), and that show gets a talk-back? Get with the times Herc, even the mainstream apparently now thinks Tim and Eric rules the sketch comedy landscape.
-
It's either laugh out loud funny or wretchedly god awful. Still an improvement over Tom Goes to the Mayor though.
-
Sub-par singer, shitty actress and 100% cuntbitch diva who expects the world to kiss all 826 square inches of her fat ass. Go back to breeding and fall off the face of the earth.
-
that's as random as J Lo, do they just pull names out of hat?
-
I was a die hard back in the late 80's and early 90's. There was always a buzz about hot pop culture topics and if "Cajan man" or "Mr. subliminal" would show up. This show is not even a shell of what it used to be and its time to go bye bye.
-
are NBC and Fox going to be off the air? I miss entertainment.
-
This I got to see.
-
and hilarious. I loved that Robin Williams impersonator skit they had...haven't been able to find ti since though.
-
I'll admit they've had some pretty terrible hosts (aside from Jon Hamm), but I like the cast, especially Kristin Wiig/Andy Samberg.
-
I thought it was cancelled years ago.
-
Seriously, all this info is out weeks before AICN posts these "who's hosting" articles. Here's one for you, AICN: in April: TINA FEY hosting with Justin Bieber as musical guest.
-
and J Lo isn't random either. When she was booked, she was going to have an album AND a movie (Back-Up Plan) coming out. But the movie got pushed back a month or so, and album is on hold indefinitely.
-
it's because the majority of Herc's "articles" are cut and pasted from other sites that reported it first. I mean Herc only actually wrote 12 sentences in this article. The rest was copied from elsewhere. Can't be new news if you don't write it. Look at when he writes about a new ep. of any of the few shows he actually covers not called SNL or Survivor, he generally writes a small ineffectual blurb and then cuts and pastes a bunch of snippets from real reviewers. Do you really expect new news from a source like that?
-
This SNL could be the final nail.
-
consists of mainly pic-links to Amazon, rarely does he write about even half of the pics he posts on those. One of the many reasons AICN needs a TV reviewer who actually covers more TV than just the few shows he personally likes.
-
JLo pretty much IS a has been. When's the last time she did anything important? 7 years ago? Between her tabloid fodder relationship with Ben Affleck and then her reputation for an over the top, Divabitch attitude, she pretty much nailed her own career coffin. It would take a lot for her to really get back to where she used to be.
-
I can't fault anyone for wanting time off to start a family and not just pop out a kid and go straight back to work. That being said, that down time DOES make it difficult to come back as big as you were when you left.
-
It just seems cookie cutter to me. Have the guest stand there in a sketch with Kristin Wiig playing a slightly different version of the same annoying character. I'm just waiting for the official change to "The Kristin Wiig Show"
-
has to be the lamest internet meme ever. Abe Vigoda hosting SNL internet meme on the other hand...
-
Guess I won't be watching. Not a big fan of overrated chola/divas.
-
100% true
-
And if you haven't seen their Absolut commercials with Galfianakis, find and watch!
-
...that is all.
-
Only one that made me laugh in Hangover
-
I must be missing something. Every time I've seen that show, I can't understand how it got put on TV in the first place. Those guys have got connections.
*reaching for the remote* -
More "Ain't It Lame News."
-
Her movies suck, her music sucks, and by all accounts she is a massive bitch in real life. But other than that, she's great.
-
JLo is transported to an alien world where all of the women have gargantuan butts, and they make fun of JLo for her flat boyish booty.
-
They should've booked Billy Crystals.
-
SNL has been dull for years. Betty White would actually be outside of their "formula" and maybe would get them to step outside of their unfunny box
-
last nite jumped off a building in los angeles....which is a pretty horific way to die please, if you are feeling depressed...talk to someone...there is nothing to be ashamed about, it is a chemical inbalance
-
How strange! I considered jumping off a building in LA last night! Perhaps we would've bumped into each other.
-
And Crack Cocaine is delicious. Granted I haven't followed SNL in over a decade but Tim and Eric is fucking horrific. I wish they would murder one another.
-
this is why things like facebook need to be shut down, these retarded assholes are taking over the internet.
-
HE SAYS JUDE LAW IS ONE OF OUR FINEST SNL HOSTS AND THEN HE SNEERED AT BEN STILLER.
-
would be the funniest thing ever.
-
I smell a conspiracy. Is someone targeting the children of our mediocre celebrities? Are James Belushi's children next?
-
awkward off!!
-
You either get it, or you get the HELL away from it as quick as you can.
-
No, you got it wrong there Tangerines - you either get Tim and Eric, or you get the hell out of it's way - because if you don't think Tim and Eric are funny, you are as retarded as Sarah Palin's fifth born.
-
and who wants to bet that osmond's kid was gay the kid was attending the la design college
-
Wait, who was Andy? Missed the graphic.
-
Andy was Josh Groban.
-
...might want to get all the eyeshadow off after your stint as Adam Lambert.
-
What???
-
God I hope so.
-
That's the best latin accent she can muster?
-
Google that shit.
-
I give up.
-
Jenny Slate sucks the funny out of every line she delivers. The audience seems to know it too.
-
there's the shout out
-
Yikes...
-
This is a shitload of fuck.
-
The Charlize Theron episode....so hot.

It's a rash.
On my ass.

They aren't working...as I said, just google it...
-
hasn't quite worn out it's welcome yet.. but it's getting there.
-
AICN put in a automatic space to prevent talkback stretching.
-
is SO right on! What's up with that site recently anyway?
-
The only good thing about We are the World 3 was that it wasn't a political cold open. The ESPN sketch is misogynistic and unfunny, and Andy is smoking way too much weed nowadays. JLo is not funny and cannot sing. She needs to start doing more Sodebergh films to get back to the one good thing she ever did.
-
That was CLEARLY the Old Spice Guy.
-
Geez...
-
will never wear out it's welcome as far as i'm concerned..
-
thank you, Google Translate.
-
new album fucking rocks
-
Her music career is fucking over.
-
Is so vintage late 80s / early 90s. I LOVE it!
-
...but with NBA players?
-
I think.
-
Hahahaha
-
I could handle 1-2 skits like this every episode.
-
This....THIS is the worst episode of the season. BY FAR.
-
Not this "You gotta get yourself some marble columns" ripoff of a sketch with this talentless not Michaela Watkins being chick. FIRE HER.
-
Again!!
Wait, it's the same infomercial. -
I wish I could have watched 90 minutes of the closet organizer instead of what I did watch
-
...and I'll tell you you're wrong.
-
did she not just thank him?
-
what skit was he in? the cold open?
-
Give it up dude. They need to fire all the writers, or take the muzzles off the good ones. The first.. two, three, four, etc. sketches were terrible. Only in the later half did I find stuff to laugh at. I can't even fathom what they toss out before going to air.
They should completely clean house like in the 90s and start from scratch. -
instead of, y'know, thinking up some new material.
-
but that would make less sense I'll admit..
-
Is - for no easily explainable reason - the absolute fucking funniest show on television right now. Not that it's hard to do, of course. Props to TheFug for recommending a talkback. Seconded!
-
Otherwise, the usual I'll-watch-it-if-I'm-home rule applies.
-
It is locked out on my DVR so that I cannot accidentally tune to it during it's NBC time slot.
-
now THAT show I would tune into, if only for the last 2 min. Dont understand why ugly unfunny people are allowed to be on TV.
-
The return of the Closet Organizer commercial. I don't know why, but it's just hilarious. And the other good thing was David Paterson on Weekend Update. That will never get old. That's the reason I keep tuning in every Saturday
-
I can always look forward to breakfast and "is SNL still on" comments in the SNL Talkback.
-
but the ass was on point...
-
but it was awful. Why can't they find some genuine talent to star on this show? Get rid of that kid from "Good Burger" or whatever that Nickelodeon crap was, and find a host who doesn't suck.
-
Maybe I'm wrong, but were 100% of the sketches tonight recurring sketches? Its like they didn't even try, it was just an episode of "lets do that one again!"
-

JENNIFER LOPEZ: Beautiful woman (still), great ass (to Hell with all the flat butt lovers out there!), okay actress (depends on the role), BUT TERRIBLE SINGER! Her musical success was only due to the fact that she did a few catchy dance tunes that were studio-produced to the MAX!!! Why in the world she chose to sing ballads on SNL (LIVE!) baffles the hell out of me! And if those two songs are indicative of her latest album, no wonder Sony didn't want any parts of it! I actually like J-Lo, and I certainly don't begrudge her the fact that she took some time off to have a family. I thought she was a bit overexposed anyway. But she never was much of a singer, and she showed that to the Nth degree on SNL. And even though she does light comedy pretty well in her movies, you would never know it from the weak sketches she appeared in on SNL. Very disappointing show.
-
Even is she is an unfunny cunt diva.

More proof how little the internet matters to advertisers
by refutethehype
REFUTE THE HYPE!
-
What on earth made them consider her to host? She has'nt been relavent since she was shooting up night clubs with poop-daddy. She is just a vapid dead zone of a celebrity. I mean really, she is like buying the house brand ketchup instead of heinz, I mean heinz is'nt even expensive ... everybody can buy heinz! Theres no reason why you have to buy the house brand kethup!
-
Haven't seen SNL since the 2nd Jon Hamm appearance. I'll watch for PJ though. They rock and the new album is really good.
-
That'll get the ratings in. The Winter Olympics have assured the network that nobody who gives a shit about J-Lo or SNL is going to be watching their 5th-place network enough to see the advertising they have to do to let folks know that they're pointlessly interrupting their non-stop boredomfest known as the "Winter Olympics" to put on SNL. Great plan. Good use of resources. Synergize it!

Tim and Eric had an awesome send-up of SNL last night on their show. I would encourage everyone to check it out online on Adult Swim's site.
