A couple of quick questions:

Have we seen Russell on the hunt for hidden immunity idols yet?

Didn’t “hero” Rupert introduce himself to America by stealing a bunch of his fellow contestants’ shoes? And is shoe-stealing appreciably more moral than Russell’s sock-burning if Mark Burnett orders tuba music played as Rupert steals those shoes?

Finally, I’d like to ask the show’s “heroes” to quit voting off all the hot girls already. Rest in Ponderosa, Sugar and Stephanie!

“American Idol” should bump it to third tonight.

"Archer" enjoyed its first uptick last Thursday, and FX gave it a second season.

That 3.7 is a series low for “Grey’s Anatomy,” by the way. I’ve not been writing about ratings much durin the Olympics because there are so many repeats and the Olympics is hobbling just about everything not on NBC -- but the decline of ABC’s mighty Thursday line-up demands attention.

Tonight is very likely the last Thursday for both ABC’s “The Deep End” and Fox’s “Past Life.”

ABC is suffering a similar decline on Sundays, with new CBS reality show “Undercover Boss” grinding once-dominant “Desperate Housewives” down to third place at 9 p.m.:

It’ll be interesting to see if audiences are keen to return to the further adventures of Bree and Gabrielle once “Celebrity Apprentice” replaces the Olympics on NBC Sunday night.

And check out that rating for Ryan Seacrest’s “Kardashians,” which clobbered new episodes of “Brothers & Sisters” and “Cold Case” at 10 p.m. and gave E! its biggest ratings ever. Madness!

Thanks in part to the ongoing collapse of ABC’s dramedies, “Lost” remains ABC’s top draw. Luckily for ABC, “Lost” was also one of the few shows that hit an uptick against the Olympics this week:

    or the last two times he'd been on he was the recipient of selective editing. As far as I remember, he's always been an easy-going guy. Now, he loses two challenges in a row and goes ballistic. Not only yelling at everyone but he was quite nasty to Stephenie, even as she was leaving.Herc, the difference between Rupert stealing shoes, and Russell burning socks: Rupert, in keeping with the pirate theme of that season, pillaged from an enemy tribe, giving him and his tribe an advantage. Russell burned the socks of his tribemate for the sole purpose of making the members of his tribe miserable - he was acting solely for his own benefit.

    How do they judge how many people are watching when so many DVR it and watch it later, or watch it on demand? How many people actually have the box in their home? We had a paper to fill out for a couple of weeks once, but that is the only time I have heard of anyone being a Neilson (sp?) family.

    They actually have some well known companies there which is cool. Hard to tell how much of it is faked though, I assume they seek out employees they know have troubles and get the boss to hang around with them so he can solve their problems. And on the ride to HQ they have to know it has something to do with the undercover guy, as the cameras are taping them. Still, a good show.

    I read on another board someone who was on one of James' seasons said he got a really good edit both times. The way he acted last week was pretty common, but the show left out those moments because James is popular.

    It's only been two episodes, but I'm kinda cold on this season so far.

    I don't care who wins, but I do like seeing Parvati and Amanda.

    Every CEO of a large, or even mid-size, corp. should do this sort of thing (hell, their board of directors ought to MAKE them do it!) As this show illustrates, they really don't have a clue what's happening in their own companies. What these honchos are learning can be as good for the bottom line as it is for the little guys who are the backbone of any company. UB is a little manipulative and overly sentimental, but I still give it a season pass for its wake-up call to the beancounters of the corporate world.

I can say that, while the curling was pretty good, the hockey was an incredibly exciting game (Yay Canada!). But, I don't think either was on NBC. Last I checked NBC was showing Ski Jumping or some other such event that had happened earlier today.

The best cut was the one where they faded the burning sun around his head, as if to indicate holiness a la a Renaissance-era painting of Jesus and the Apostles. Just hilarious. I worked with a guy like Coach for 4 years and it was absolutely draining - it's stunning how someone can be so unaware of what a toolbox they are.

    are the players he's playing with. Last time he was in a tribe of sheep who, for the most part, had the strategy of "as long as it's not me what do I care who gets voted out". Now he's playing with people who know how to play the game; players with the ability to think for themselves, who have their own strategies and aren't waiting around for someone to tell them what to do.Although, I have to say, his restraint this season is refreshing. He waited a whole 6 days before messing with his tribe's creature comforts. Why he doesn't pull that crap after the merge, when you want the tribe you are in to fracture, is beyond me.

    There were so many people on the tribe who rightly are worried Parv will turn on them, she doesn't do anything at camp, and she is a real danger if she is allowed to stay in the game. Randy isn't, but he is capable of playing well at challenges. Hard to hold it against him for getting smoked by James. Every other guy on the tribe lost to someone worse than James. If you're voting out weak, how does Courtney's name not come up at all? The strategy that gets played in this game is often so baffling. I also don't get how Randy's vote of Rob came about. If Randy had half a game, Tyson, Jerri, Sandra and Couch would have been on his side, and I think they could have convinced Rob to join them too. I know he isn't great at the social game, but that was just pathetic.

    He did play a horrible social game, and a lot of these all-stars knew each other before they went back to play the game. He wasn't part of that nor did he try that hard to be. I think his vote for Rob was more of a warning than anything since he knew he was gone and there was no point in voting for Parv then. As far as the machete goes, perhaps it'll be brought up more in the next episode. Also I'm curious to know if Russell will be able to find those idols as well as last time.

    Who is this guy? I heard him mentioned recently as a former contestant kicked off the show for "controversial reasons," but couldn't find any info. What season was he on and what did he do?
