I am – Hercules!!
We’ve new details on “The Wyoming Project,” the new CW pilot masterminded by “Gilmore Girls” mastermind Amy Sherman-Palladino.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sean Faris (“Life As We Know It,” “Reunion,” “The Vampire Diaries”) will play a 22-year-old who inherits a Wyoming ranch and the custody of his three younger sisters after the death of their parents.
“Wyoming” is not to be confused with Sherman-Palladino’s untitled HBO dramedy project about three adult sisters sharing an apartment on the Upper East Side.

"Party of Four"???
-
Is this set in the state of Wyoming or in the Grand Rapids suburb of Wyoming, MI? Hey, they have a rodeo.
-
Got my fingers crossed that this is more like Gilmore Girls season 1-3 and less like everything else shes done.
-
Don't mean to ruin it for the ladies and gay gentlemen out there, but the parents die as a direct result of the three girls' inane non-stop chatter. Can't reveal whether it's a double dialogue-induced embolism, or a suicide pact, but rest assured that the parents are the luckiest ones involved in the whole series. Any guy with any interest in either show from this woman, please hand your cock to the guy at the door on your way out.
-
isn't that called "the adventures of Jezabel James" or something? didn't it air 1 episode a couple of years ago and got canceled? are they bringing it back? it kinda sucked
-
Wyoming is the WORST state i ever been to...

...Would be more like facebook... instead of a like button, there should be a its cool/ not cool button... cuz this article definitely needs a not cool button...
-
Just saying that it sounds like it should be, you know, fitting and everything if it were, 'cause you know, this sounds soooooo fuckin' gay.

Where is the Nile, again? Wait, why am I asking here? Clearly, a lot of these folks would have no idea if they were standing in that particular river...
Regardless, Gilmore Girls was an incredibly well written show (for most of the run). My wife wanted me to watch it with her, and I was amazed at how quality writing could turn a seemingly uninteresting setting and potentially boring set of main characters into an amazingly good show. I thought the JJ show was pitifully bad, but that could easily have been driven by the network rather than the people that had the idea for the show. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing if this show can recapture the early seasons of Gilmore Girls, or if it is going to fall short. -
The creator of one of the 10 best shows of the last decade is casting a new pilot! What's cooler than that, you swine? http://bit.ly/8k5JVf

American taste in television viewing is about as refined as their diets. Out of the list you cite I'd allow Arrested Development and the real Office. I wipe my ass with the rest.

Why don't you guys just retitle the "Coaxial" section the "Corporate Wurlitzer" section? That's at least 60% of the site now.
-
I watched Gilmore Girls once. then I blew my load and switched the channel.

herc loves the 'swine' insult... i read that word and picture a fat guy in sweatpants and a star wars t-0shirt wearing glasses held together by scotch tape muttering 'swine' under his breath while he's sitting alone in his high school cafeteria after a football player cracks a joke about how the guy is a loser for watching Gilmour Girls on his ipod unaware that half his face covered in sloppy joe but at least it hides his severe case of acne.
-
Herc, you have NO RIGHT to try to slam someone for not recognizing that its a top 10 show of the decade. you have NO RIGHT to tell us what is 'cool.' "no right? i run aicn's COAX! how do i have no right telling people what is good?because you're fucking awful at running coax. you don't report shit. you give us no insider knowledge. you copy paste press releases. you make awful speculations with no info to back them up, and your speculations have never come close to being consistently right. you are shamelessly biased. you have a disdain for your readers. but the worst thing, though, is that you DO NOT LOVE TV. you're nothing more than a guy who likes certain shows with access to a simple form. if this wasn't aicn and was any old blog about tv nobody would turn to it for TV knowledge or discussion. who am i to say you do not love TV? because people who love tv go back and download, or rent dvds, of shows people recommend. You are proud and spiteful and have no professionalism.I have asked you politely what your opinion, good or bad, of the jsa smallville and got not a word of a response from you. you must have been surprised at its quality, yet you are too proud to admit it was decent.you won't give your take on a show we ALL know you watched, yet, you take the time to insult a talkbacker because he doesn't find something you find cool to be cool himself? fuck you herc.
-
the best thing about the zone is that the mods there all understand and agree that you, herc, are a douchebag and a tool.
-
Actually, Herc DOES have a right, and saying he doesn't is patently ridiculous. What he doesn't have is taste in TV. The shows he reports on, including Gilmore Girls, are largely complete and utter shit. It's all reality TV show crap. None of what he reports on is anything people on a site like this would give a crap about. So he has a right. He just doesn't have a clue.
-
listen, i'm actually pretty sure Gilmour Girls is a good show--i've heard it from all kinds of people. i am NOT saying herc has no right to like a show, or choose which shows he creates talkbacks for. no way. what i AM saying is that one talkbacker asked why this is considered 'cool' news. herc came back at him by insulting him by saying, flat out, ITS ONE OF THE TOP TEN SHOWS OF THE DECADE--as if the talkbacker was clueless for not knowing, or thinking, its the ONE OF THE TIP TEN SHOWS OF THE DECADE. He has no right to say that BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WATCH SO MANY FANTASTIC SHOWS--HE HAS NO DESIRE TO EVEN TRY THEM--and the worst is:WEEK IN, WEEK OUT, HERC TAKES SHOTS AT SHOWS HE DOES NOT WATCH BUT KNOWS THAT MANY TALKBACKERS LOVE.How can you possibly believe you have the right to say, flat out, as if its a rule, as if its unanimous, as if its official, as if we are dumb for not knwoing, that A SHOW IS ONE OF THE TOP TEN SHOWS OF THE DECADE!give me a break--you cannot possibly make that statement if you have NO DESIRE to give whats on tv, or rather, give what is recommended a chance. HE DOESN'T CARE! So, who the hell is he to DEFINE a show as A TOP TEN show of THE DECADE if he only watches his select group of TV with no desire to educate himself on the topic he WRITES ABOUT FOR HIS JOB.
-
It's called freedom of speech. That's a basic right. The problem isn't about having a right--it's that he's talking out his ass.
-
...and took it as the gospel truth. Odd.
-
This is his corner of the internet, and I will usually watch a show if he says it's any good. But that doesn't mean he's not a massive tampon for liking the Gilmore Girls.
-
but seriously. Couldn't Herc find a better Top-Ten List on the Internet where Gilmore Girls is the best Show ever not just #9!!! Party Of Five Reloaded , who gives a fuck from whom it is?
-
you don't understand whittiest--he has no right to INSULT someone by STATING IT AS FACT that gilmour girls is ONE OF THE TOP TEN SHOWS OF THE DECADE. This isn't about a good show/bad show argument, this is about herc insulting someone for not 'knowing' that a show the talkbacker things is dumb is IN THE TOP TEN OF THE DECADE AND THERE'S NO ARGUMENT ABOUT THAT--ITS A FACT.
-
After Sherman-Palladino blew up the characters as her passing act when she left the show thereby making the last season hateful and unwatchable I do keep an eye on her so that I don't make the same mistake of watching anything else she tries to do. SO thanks for the heads up on that Herc.
-
He has every right to do so, just as you have the right to respond that he's an idiot. You don't seem to understand what the term "right" means. He has the right. It's a basic one--the freedom of speech. You may not agree with him, and it's your right to do so as well. This is his column, and though most of what he posts here is completely pointless shit about shows people don't care about, that's his right. It's his column, and no one is forcing you to read it. Just as he is free to say that all of his readers are incestuous asswipes, you are free to not read it. I can't believe I even have to explain this to you. Only a complete and utter idiot would take the stance that he has no right to say what he's saying. I agree with you that Herc's completely off-base with his statements--but that's not the same as saying he has no right to make them. Freedom of speech is a basic human right, and this is an unpaid site, so on no grounds can anyone possibly say he doesn't have the right to post whatever insulting, pointless drivel he wants to post. Don't prove yourself to be stupid by continuing to say otherwise.
-
Regardless of your comments RE Herc, Smallville is a complete clusterfuck of a show. It is so fucking retarded...oh my god.
Making Jimmy not jimmy but the older brother of the real jimmy.
Having Doomsday just be a guy in a rubber suit. Not killing superman.
The dialogue! Oh my god the dialogue! They are past my codewalls I have to target multiple packets on their firewalls to bypass their ip addresses! gah!
They only have one set. Always that damn street.
I could go on.... -
you don't get what i'm saying -- it has NOTHING to do with freedom of speech. if you were a muslim, and someone insulted you because you don't understand that the one and only true religion is christianity, does that person have a right to insult you on that basis?
-
" ... HBO dramedy project about three adult sisters sharing an apartment on the Upper East Side."Right, don't confuse them, people. One's about 3 ADULT sisters sharing an APARTMENT on THE UPPER EAST SIDE. Wyoming is about 3 TEENAGE sisters sharing a RANCH in WYOMING (with their older brother).Oh, and Sean Faris? Good luck getting to the end of the first season with this cursed Tom Cruise clone.

Hercules, since that list of the top 10 best shows of the 00's
by big jim
"proves" how good GG really was (being #9), does that mean you also agree that The Comeback was almost as great as it came in at #10? And, funnily enough, the UK office came in at #7. Umm, how'd you feel about that one again? I know you think of Gilmore Girls as being one of the best of the decade, as well as a few others on that list, but how about the rest? What about the stuff they didn't include? No Mad Men, no BSG, no Veronica Mars, no Buffy, no Angel, no Firefly. Maybe it's just me, but unless I agreed 100% with a "top ten", I wouldn't point to it as "proof" of a show's greatness just because said show happens to be one of the ones on there.
-
You're an idiot.
-
"you don't get what i'm saying"Sure, I do. You're just wrong."it has NOTHING to do with freedom of speech."It has everything to do with freedom of speech. This is Herc's column. Sure, the column sucks, but you and I don't have to read it unless we choose to."if you were a muslim, and someone insulted you because you don't understand that the one and only true religion is christianity, does that person have a right to insult you on that basis?"You mean like you just did, by saying Muslims don't understand that the one and only true religion is Christianity? What a freakin' idiot. In any case, yes, a person DOES have a right to tell someone their religion is wrong, just as the other person has a right to disagree. It is entirely about freedom of speech. And none of what you just wrote has anything to do with whether or not Herc has a right to state his opinion of Gilmore Girls. I'm going to assume you failed basic logic class.
-
HE DID NOT STATE HIS OPINION!!!!! HE STATED IT AS *****FACT***** what about that can you not understand? DROP THE FUCKING FREEDOM OF SPEECH BULLSHIT. Just because you can say anything doesn't give you the right to insult others because they do not believe what you consider to be the one and only true whatever. Its about DECENCY. its also about treating your readers with a little bit of respect. It may not be legally true, but in the real world, there are general rules for social conduct, and while they may be able to say anything legally, you don't go around treating others as idiots because they don't hold your beliefs.
-
it gets boring very quickly.
-
ok, lets say a new highschool teacher comes in for the first day of class and is teaching spanish--but cannot speak spanish herself and only regurgitates the textbook. does that give her the right to teach students who are supposed to be learning for her? my ultimate point is that herc does not give so many great shows a chance, so if he doesn't inform himself, which is a part of his job, how can he possibly say, flat out, no argument about it, that a show is in the top ten of a decade? he hasn't done the work to make that conclusion. we all know that.
-
"Just because you can say anything doesn't give you the right to insult others because they do not believe what you consider to be the one and only true whatever."Yes, it does. You're a Bible-thumping hypocrite, because you did the same thing to Muslims as what you're getting your panties in a knot over. Idiot.
-
That was a stupid fucking analogy, and had no similarity to logic. Get your head out of your ass. Here's a fact for you: Religion is pointless, and there is no God. I suppose now you'll say I have no right to say that? Idiot.
-
"he hasn't done the work to make that conclusion. we all know that." Of course we know that. Herc has made it very clear how little he knows about television. But that has nothing to do with it. You keep talking about rights. He HAS the right. He's just not qualified. And if that's the point you were trying to make with teaching Spanish, then the problem here is that you're wording it very badly. The right to do something is not the same as qualification. Sarah Palin has the right to be president, according to U.S. law, but she's just about the least qualified person I can think of. You have a right to make statements you think are logical and well-thought-out, but based on your last few comments, you're not qualified to do so. And Herc has a right to watch only five TV shows, all of them reality shows or CW/WB-type crap, and proclaim them to be the best shows ever, even if you don't think he's qualified to have an opinion. The problem here isn't Herc's ineptitude--it's your basic lack of understanding of what rights are. This argument isn't about rights--it's about qualification. They are two separate things.
-
you're a stupid fucking talkbacker -- I DON'T EVEN HAVE A RELIGION! I WAS MAKING A POINT REGARDING HOW FREEDOM OF SPEECH DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BELITTLE ANOTHER. AGAIN: One guy is as christian as can be. He is completely sure it is the one and only true religion. He believes everyone who isn't christian is going to hell. He meets a muslim. upon learning the guy is muslim, he insults him, says he's going straight to hell if he died then and there, he spits in front of his feet, he screams at him for not understanding that christianity is not just the one and only true religion, but rather that this muslim is an idiot for not knowing that. he DEMANDS that this muslim, then and there, must convert to christianity. He DEMANDS that this muslim apologize for not already being christian. He threatens to drag the muslim kicking and screaming to a christian church and demands a priest convert him then and there, he threatens the muslim saying he will nearly drown him in the holy water. That's OK to you? By your reasoning, it is--he has freedom of speech so he's allowed to insult, belittle and offend, because hey, its freedom of speech.again, i don't even have a religion, you just weren't understanding me.
-
GEEZE! I even said that I believe that Gilmour Girls IS probably a good show -- i've heard it from people. That has NOTHING to do with my point! Herc has the right to like whatever he pleases, but he does NOT have the right to a) STATE GILMOUR GIRLS IS ONE OF THE TOP 10 SHOWS OF THE DECADE and at the same time INSULT SOMEONE FOR NOT ALREADY KNOWING THAT ***FACT***. Its his OPINION. but it is not a FACT. Essentially, he is INSULTING someone for not KNOWING A FACT that he could not possibly state because HE HASN'T SEEN ENOUGH GOOD TV!
-
Then you need to learn how to write better. You presented the Christian argument as if it was yours, not a hypothetical point. And incidentally, you are so ridiculously over the top by comparing Herc's comment to someone spitting in the face of a Muslim and DEMANDING that he convert that I see no point in continuing to discuss this with you. You're an idiot, pure an simple. Either that or you're a troll, because no one could actually think what you just said follows logically. Idiot.
-
Fact: You're a troll. Fact: You're an idiot. Fact: Herc has a right to say whatever he wants to about TV, despite the fact that he's unqualified to do so. Fact: You're an idiot troll.
-
or another analogy: If a prosecuting lawyer believes, in his heart, that the accused is guilty, that lawyer is NOT allowed to take that belief and state it as fact--a fact that the jury MUST recognize--and on the basis of that 'fact' the accused must be given the death penalty. When the truth is, the lawyer hasn't done enough investigation to prove his belief is a FACT, so he has no right to expect the jury to take his word as FACT and sentance the acussed to the death penalty
-
Please never be a lawyer. You have no ability whatsoever to take thoughts to their logical conclusions, and your analogies are completely false. You're an idiot.
-
Smallville is still crap.
-
...is that it doesn't matter anyway. Herc has always been someone who doesn't care that everyone thinks what he writes about isn't cool or interesting. Every time he posts something, the masses rise up and let him know that what he's posted about is inappropriate to this site, which is supposed to be about cool news--hence, the name. And for the most part, he ignores all of the comments without responding, and keeps on writing about the crappy shows he writes about. It will always be like that, and it's his right to be that way. So why get all worked up and accuse him of spitting on Muslims or any of the other crazy shit you made illogical and false analogies to, when none of it will change the facts that (1) this is Herc's column, (2) he's free to say whatever he wants in it, (3) he doesn't care if you agree with him or dislike what he says or compare him to anti-Muslim Bible-thumpers, and (4) you're an idiot.
-
...it could be Harry Knowles writing this column. Every column that someone other than Harry writes is a plus for the site. So relax. Or Herc might just ask Harry to guest-write an installment or two for him, and then you'd need to wade through some of the worst writing you'll ever see. Is that what you REALLY want? Think about it.
-
ok, i'll give. he has the right to do whatever. fine. i'll just have my opinion that someone who doesn't watch , or doesn't even want to watch, some of the best shows on tv, shouldn't be taken seriously when he states and uninformed opinion as if its fact. i could even live with that, if it ended there. but what made me angry in the first place, and what prompted all my admittedly flawed analogies, was that he stated an opinion as fact which was ***his basis for insulting another.*** don't insult your readers, and your readers will respect you a little more, and will overlook some awful statements.besides, we're two sides of the same coin--neither of us thinks herc has any desire to inform himself about whats good on tv, nor is he a 'go to guy' when you're looking to try out a new show--the talkbackers pick up that slack for him (which is another reason he shouldn't be insulting talkbackers) and shit, his readers, quite often, break news herc would either never break, or breaks long after the talkbackers have already told us about it.
-
why is harry in a wheelchair?
-
Lord knows I'm usually more of a Action/Horror/SciFi/Comedy kind of guy. Family drama (by and large) isn't my thing, but I've enjoyed the odd episode of Gilmore Girls, and I do like the nonstop firing dialogue that helped make it what it was. So, what the hell, I'll broaden my horizons a bit for Amy Sherman-Palladino. I could stand to be less of a male chauvinist pig anyway.
-
news then you'd best go elsewhere. Herc reports on what he likes. It doesn't really matter how you feel about it. I'd love to criticize him for it, except, well, that's exactly what I'd do: report on what I like. Now I may not get my fill of stuff like Supernatural here (although it does show up every so often, as does Smallville) I get the majority of my Joss Whedon news here (as well as other equally geeky stuff), and for the rest, there are other sites. If Herc hates this stuff why should he be forced to report it? He took no oath to be unbiased (to my knowledge). Let him tell us what he likes and, we'll visit some other sites, huh?
