Published at:  Feb 19, 2010 1:33:09 PM CST

I am – Hercules!!

A&E says it wants a second season of its reality show “Steven Seagal: Lawman,” despite the project’s collapsing 18-49 ratings:

0.6 (0.7) (0.8) (0.9) (0.9) (0.9) (0.7) (1.0) (1.0) (1.4)

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it averages 1.3 million viewers in the 18-49 demo, a lot for A&E. The channel likes the show so much it is ordering 16 second-season episodes. Season one only got 13.

Find The Hollywood Reporter’s story on the matter here.

collapsing? see what the full report says "Season 1 of "Lawman" was a success for the network, averaging 2.1 million viewers and 1.3 million adults 18-49, making it A&E's best freshman performance by an original series in total viewers."

Seagal is rating's gold! it's clear herc has a bias against possibly The greatest cinematic martial artist since Bruce Lee.

    by idrinkyourmilkshake

Anywho, this show sucks.Me and me chick were hyped to see this mess of a show(after MONTHS of airing commericals at the theaters)..but when you watch it, you realize its all staged, and there is no sense of danger. It REALLY is just sad, watching Segal be there. He does nothing, but shuffle from place to place, TRYING DEPERATELY to be the center.I was expecting him busting fights up, or throwing some fists,MAYBE even have some wit to the criminals. But, all we get is a fat fuck trying to not to break down crying to the camera muttering "I'm a fraud...(blubbering).." The CONCEPT was genius though

    Not staged

    by codecrackx15

It's not staged. There is a officer from there who posts on a law enforcement site and he went into detail about the show.
    http://forums.officer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110195
He doesn't think a lot about Seagal but then people are jealous and he is donating his time all these years which is better than most of Hollywood. He does confirm it is real though.

    ok, when i SAID STAGED

    by idrinkyourmilkshake

I meant that he is NEVER in danger.I have bout 4 friends who are cops in 3 different cities in Florida. They are in CONSTANT danger (when they pull people over, etc.)>In this show, Segal is always riding shotgun, and basically just a backround guy WHENEVER the REAL cops need to get something done. I was expecting a show where he gets out and fuck people up, or even has a grasp about REAL police work.Sadly, all he does is get out of his car(once the other 4-5 policeman have began the initials work) and sort of stick his nose in whatever (lame) situation is going on.I WANTED to love this show, but its GODDAMN boring.I was expecting attitude, or some sort of tough, spiritual cop.Again, we get an aging loser who no one respects.

    If it isn't staged...

    by immortal_fish

...then how is Seagal better at doing everything more so than any of the other cops on the force when Seagal is there only ten weeks out of the year? And if he's there because he's being driven by moral obligation or some other such noise, then why doesn't he ever stay for an eleventh week?Lookit. Few people like Seagal. I do. And I think he's going above and beyond by being down there for a week let alone ten. But the guy ain't one of his movie characters, like the show makes him out to be. Just put a cape on him, clown noses on the rest of the cops, and be done with it.If it looks like shit, smells like shit, tastes like shit... well, chances are...

    by idrinkyourmilkshake

"Segal has been a deputy chief with us since the 80's, basically he was a big fan of Sheriff Harry Lee and Lee made him a deputy chief. He's a good guy, but like I said he's pretty much useless. My opinion on the show is that hopefully it will be some more good PR for our department, however I just can't see this show being nothing more than "look there's steven segal!".

    by codecrackx15

As the officer says, when he is there he is unpaid for his time. Same thing as donating. And he has been doing it in some shape or form for 20 years. Research before you speak and insul please.

Oh yeah, A+E,as I mentioned ten times.
I care that he IS getting paid by A+E.By the way, did you NOT read the above link WRITTEN by the officers in LA? They SAY he is worthless. The cops there obviously don't respect him.So, release your lips from segal's cock, and wakeup you moron!

    by iwasinjuniorhighdickhead

and that obsession he had with law and order. Someone (was it Nixon?) made him an honorary agent or something, and Elvis ran with it. He'd be out on patrol with law enforcement, dressed in a balaclava and dark glasses, busting drug dealers and the like whilst ripped to the tits himself on all kinds of chemicals, with the police doing their best to hide the fact that they were pissing themselves laughing. There's a movie in there somewhere.

    by buffywrestling

when they used to show "Evening At The Improv" or "Caroline's"? I discovered some of the best stand-ups during that time : Kevin Pollack, Rik Overton, Rita Rugtner, Paula Pounstone...

Now it is all reality cop shows. Although I do still watch "The First 48". It's edited like a "Law & Order" sequence.

Why is anyone bothering? His initial statement was wrong, let's move on. The show isn't fantastic, but it's entertaining, and it isn't staged. To be honest, not even "COPS" has a sense of "real" danger.

What's funny is he's no 'fatter' than many cops, and he's been an exceptional marksman/student of firearms since before his movie days. And like someone else said, spending a week in that hellhole is achievement enough.

How come in that pHoto of him being sworn in "twenty years ago" the fat fucks the same weight as he is now?

Twenty years ago was 1990, 2 years before he made under siege. In under siege he was in pretty good shape

if hes been doing it for twenty years in the same neighbourhood yet the locals are still suprised to see him? You would have thought if hes been doing it for over 20 years!!! The locals would at least know he sometimes moonlights as a sheriff

    just another fake reality show

Why would anyone, in their right mind, watch and care about this show? There's nothing cool about it whatsoever. You are aware of what this site's name is, right?
