This Valentine's Day - Did you make the list to hop in our HOT TUB TIME MACHINE at the Alamo South tomorrow?!?!?
Hey folks, Harry here and officially... HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
Now for a bunch of you, you get to celebrate this Valentine's Day with the knowledge that you and your guest are gonna slip into our HOT TUB TIME MACHINE about a month ahead of schedule!!! Woo hoo!!! Now - I know I mentioned 80's attire - but it could be fun to come adorned in your favorite Bathrobe!!! That's what Yoko and I are doing!!! But definitely come in a goofy mood!
The showing begins at 7:30pm... but I slightly overbooked this. We have a little over 200 seats, but as usual some of the folks below won't show. So that means you folks that didn't get in, come get in the standby line and I bet some of y'all will get in. And if you are on the list, show up early to get a good seat and to guarantee your seat.

...first come, first served. I sent an email at like, 3:30am and wasn't among the first 150-200 to do so? WOW, talk about a lot of local, late-night activity! Not only that, but the list was supposed to be posted as soon as the screening filled up. Seeing as that was supposedly done before 4am on 2/11 (the time of my email), why did I have to check back regularly (and hold my Monday night plans) for THREE DAYS?

...my application for this screening was cleared up by the time I emailed my application for the Polanski screening. In other words, I will be ABSOLUTELY TAKEN ABACK if:
I logged onto AICN at 3:30am on 2/11...
...saw two postings (made just hours earlier, at midnight) offering first-come/first-served tickets to a couple of screening, with the respective lists to be posted as soon as the screenings filled up...
I immediately sent my email...
...and checked back multiple times a day for the next 72 hours (each time, upon seeing no list posted, becoming more and more certain that my quick email was, in fact, delivered in time)...
...after two days, becoming so certain as to have my girlfriend request off work Monday and Wednesday night....
......and what a kick in the NUTS of a punchline to the entire situation, if I don't see my name on either list!
Bear in mind, I don't want to sound entitled here. I've been enjoying Harry's contributions to the Austin film scene for years now, from BNAT to, most recently, Bad Lieutenant. I do so with ever growing appreciation for the lengths he, Tim and everybody go to in making Austin KICKASS for fans of cinema. With all plans cleared for the night(s), I'll probably even (gracefully and gratefully) attempt the stand-by line.
None of that, though, alleviates the frustration of anticipating an event for three consecutive days, only to be practically uninvited on the evening before it takes place. And, well, fuck me if I've just been grossly underestimating the number of Austin-locals who actually check this site between midnight and 3am on any given day. -

Not to sound like a dick....but I would think the Kevin Smith/Southwest Airline story would have at least warranted a mention in the top stories today. Afterall, he's an extremely recognizable director, and its being covered my all mainstream/non-movie specific sites. Why no reporting?

I would like to hear about Kevin Smith too....I personally think it is hilarious that he gets called out for that. I had no idea that he had gotten that huge.I guess Harry is more interested in creating a headline for an alternate Avatar ending that does not exist.Regardless, I also want to hear about that supposed "Taxi Driver" remake/reboot/sequel story. Harry lets hear about this stuff dude.

on his Smodcast. All you need is an iPhone, iPod or the fucking INTERNET. It's really easy to find. Basically, some cunt at southwest said he was too fat to fly. He fit inthe seat with no problem, but they insisted he exit the plane. There was a guy who was bigger than him on the plane, too. It added to the bullshit the poor guy had to go through.
