Learn Which Big-Deal Director Returns To Deliver Baby Halpert!! Plus Clips From The Last PARKS, 30 ROCK & COMMUNITY Till March!!

Published at:  Feb 11, 2010 5:50:50 AM CST

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

The big “Office” news this week is Pam will deliver Halpert spawn during a special hour-long episode arriving March 4 -- and Harold Ramis directs the second half of that hour, his first “Office” episode since the season-three finale “Beach Games.”

For those on the party planning committee, the half-hour sixth season finale airs May 20.

Either Jim or Michael is getting demoted this week. Were I the showrunner I’m pretty sure I’d demote Michael because that’s the untapped comedy vein. Then maybe Jim will eventually figure out a way to put Michael back in charge of the Scranton branch, but in name only. Kind of like the way Corrado Soprano thought he was running the Jersey mob even though his nephew Tony was really in charge.

Tonight:

“Manager and Salesman”
Written by Mindy Kaling
Directed by Marc Webb
The office is eager to welcome Sabre CEO Jo Bennett to Scranton, and are dazzled by her Southern ways. But when Jo finds out there are two branch managers, she says either Michael or Jim must go back to being a salesman. Meanwhile, Andy’s Valentine’s Day plan backfires. Guest stars: Kathy Bates, Zach Woods.

March 4:

“The Delivery, Part One”
Written by Danny Chun
Directed by Seth Gordon
Pam’s contractions begin but she and Jim are determined to wait it out as long as possible so they can have more time at the hospital. Meanwhile the rest of the office tries to distract Pam from the pain with food and entertainment.

“The Delivery, Part Two”
Written by Charlie Grandy
Directed by Harold Ramis
Michael anxiously waits for Pam and Jim’s baby to be born. Back at the office, Erin makes Andy jealous when she has lunch with Kevin.

“Community’s” clips feature a creepy cupid!

The “Parks” clips demonstrate Leslie Knope harbors an imperfect understanding of the term “nooner”:

In “The Office” clips, Dwight Schrute gets tough with the new boss:

And in the “30 Rock” clips, Liz Lemon gets adorably snippy with a rock star:

“Community”: 8 p.m. Thursday. NBC.
“Parks and Recreation”: 8:30 p.m. Thursday. NBC.
“The Office”: 9 p.m. Thursday. NBC.
“30 Rock”: 9:30 p.m. Thursday. NBC.

Then we get some “Office” repeats to tide us over until Jerry Seinfeld’s new reality show takes over the old “ER” timeslot.

Michael Scott Paper Company storyline pretty much saved last season for me, and mixing things up like this is exactly what this show needs right now. I'll be super impressed if they go this route, rather than the more obvious one...

Pam is Pregnant = Jump the Shark

    by nemov

I'm a huge Office fan, but the show is in a steady decline. What made the show so great was the interaction between Pam, Jim, Dwight, and Andy.

The soul has been sucked out of the show with the stupid drama storyline. After Jim and Pam became an item the writers didn't know what to do with her character so they got her pregnant? Whoever came up with that idea needs to be fired.

I agree, but its not just her. The whole show is just not working anymore. When I watch any season 1-3 show, all I can think about is how funny the show used to be. My biggest problems are overacting, especially Michael and Erin character is just weird. She doesn't even seem like a real person.

    It wasn't chemistry

    by throwmetheidol

Just some random fat guy had the hots for her, that's all. She was only supposed to be there 3 months and they dragged it out for 4, so it wasn't a case of them stopping it short.
What's so surprising about them being married and having children already? The characters have known each other for about 6 years and been involved for 3. Many, many people get married within one year of meeting.

I like the Erin character, but there's no room for development because of Pam.

    by fox_cancelled_my_life

It was about this time last year that they saved the season with that arc. Let's hope that they can do the same with the Sabre storyline. I hope the writers actually demote Michael, but we'll see. My hope would be they demote Michael, and let Jim run the branch for awhile. Milk that for awhile and have Jim either A) Get promoted to corprate B) Given his own branch C) fired.

Parks and Rec- Not even John Larroquette could save this episode. This show is hit or miss. It's coming together...just a little more....a little more.

The Office- I was a huge fan of the BBC version- which knew well enough to end it after two seasons and wrap it up with an extended episode. The US version is great- but it needs to get back to believability.

And I don't think i'm jumping on the bandwagon when I say 30 is absurdly brilliant, proving so once again...

That show is totally adrift. I though the demotion of Michael to Sales was going to be an interesting direction. I figure they could milk it for at least a few episodes. But it was completely reversed 10 minutes later. What the hell? If it doesn't start improving they should just end it because other than the Jim & Pam storyline which is resolved, they have absolutely nothing.

yourSTEPDADDY, I've said this about Modern Family

    by big jim

but I think it also applies to Parks & Recreation: The asides aren't part of a documentary, as they seem to be for The Office. They are simply a narrative device, allowing the characters to deliver exposition directly to the audience (not a camera crew or interviewer). Think of them as the TV version of "thought bubbles" you see in comics. More Ferris Bueller than The Office. On The Office, you sometimes see the camera nod, or shooting around a corner or through blinds to get an intimate moment. I've never seen that on Modern Family, and, as far as I can remember, not on Parks either. On those shows, the characters aren't talking to the camera, they are talking to us. At least that's how I see it.As for Supernatural, yes, Thursday's was very cool.
