‘I Sincerely Regret Any Damage This Has Caused!!’ Wednesday Closes The Season On FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!!

Published at:  Feb 10, 2010 1:54:13 AM CST

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

With several state championships under his belt you’d think Eric Taylor could snag a better team than the East Dillon Lions!

And how about that Madison Burge? She played Becky Sproles, the girl who always wants to kiss Tim Riggins and sought abortion when she learned she was carrying Lion spawn. If you think you've seen her before, you probably haven't. Burge is a real teenager from the Austin area; she only graduated Round Rock Christian Academy last year.

I’m not too worried about Tim Riggins, who got tossed in stir last week for some sort of lucrative automotive mischief. I’m pretty sure Landry and Tyra killed a guy a season or two ago and it didn’t even end up on their permanent records.

Hopefully tonight we’ll get some hot Matt-Julie breakup sex and Tami will offer Jesus-crazed Dillon her best “fuck you.” I’d also like to see Landry keep the girl for once and not see smoking-hot Jess Merriweather “console” sulky Vince with her most intimate of areas. I do not expect more than a moral Lions victory during their matchup with the Panthers this season.

DirecTV 101 describes the fourth-season finale of “Friday Night Lights,” titled "Thanksgiving":

The Taylors host Thanksgiving Dinner; Coach tells Vince he has to be more selfish; Tami must make an apology; Julie and Landry are surprised by a visitor from the past; Tim makes a difficult decision; East Dillon rallies around the Lions.

A fifth season has already been ordered. Can it only end with the Taylor’s Lions defeating the Panthers?

9 p.m. Friday. DirecTV 101.

If you don’t have DirecTV? NBC repeats the whole season this summer.

    DVD

    by abcdefz7

Anyone know when this comes to DVD? I know it goes to regular television first, but I don't get any service at home, so...

Anyway. That first season was terrific, and even the stumbles in season two couldn't stop it from being good stuff. Season three was solid, so I'm really looking forward to watching this.

    Riggins is gone

    by hostilepuppet

It's already been reported that the Riggins character is pretty much gone after this season. If it's not obvious, he's going to take the fall for his brother and go to jail. The writing has really gone downhill on this show.

    A few thoughts

    by rob0729

    - I agree that Coach Taylor would have had his pick of new coaching jobs. East Dillon would have never gotten a coach like him. But it does work for the show, so I don't mind the illogic of the move.
    - For three seasons we thought Dillon was a small rural town with mostly lower middle class white people. All of the sudden, East Dillon pops into the mix showing the town is much larger with a large rural type urban center with tons of poverty, drugs, and gangs where people are shot at on a regular basis. Again, it works for the show, but totally illogical.
    - How did Landry go from being the nerd that Tyra was embarrassed to even be seen talking to become a nerd that every girl seems to want to bed. It was a stretch to believe he could bag a hotty like Tyra, but then follow it up with another hotty like Jess.
    - Is it me or are they setting it up for Jess and Vince to actually be brother and sister? Jess' dad is adament about her not getting involved with Vince, but plays the fatherly role for Vince even over his own kids. Did he knock up Vince's mom? I hope I am wrong because it might too soap operary for this show.
    - Kinda wish we got to see more of the Dillon characters. The McCoys were interesting characters with Joe a good foil for Coach Taylor.

    Best show on TV. Period

    by jimmy_009

There isn't a show that has better writing or acting, or that can make you -physically- feel the same nervousness or grief the characters are feeling. I think Billy Riggins is taking all the heat, he owned the place after all. He'll end up having to leave his son behind, fitting given that the Riggin's boys grew up without their dad around.

Good points. I think the Coach and family wanted to stay in Dillon. They already had left the town a couple of seasons ago and pretty much knew they didn't want to leave, at least not until Julie left high school. That probably factored a lot into the decision to stay. Also, if you're familiar with towns in Texas, it's actually not that far fetched that there is a good and bad side of town. It is a little frustrating that they didn't actually -show- the other side of town before this season... kind of like how Lost would throw in new characters that were part of the "other survivors". They were their all along, we just never met them... Didn't really work for Lost, but I'm a bit more forgiving with FNL simply because it's so well done and I know a town that size in Texas would have those kind of issues. If you factor in that this is a school that can compete for a Division I State title, it has to be a bit larger than you might have assumed. As for Landry, yeah that stretches the imagination. I'm not too into that storyline simply because it's not very compelling (at least on Landry's side of the equation) and it seems like been there done that with Landry. I don't see a brother/sister connection. That would be pretty out there for this show. I think her dad just knows he's trouble, but sees a lot of himself in Vince and so he decides to help him. Probably not much deeper/mess up than that. Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing more Dillon characters. I do like (or rather really hate, but enjoy) how J.D. has "grown up" in the last year. It seems very fitting given how he was brought up that that's how he turned out. He's night and day from last season, and yet it makes perfect sense.

How can Tim take the fall?

    by jimmy_009

I don't see this happening. Billy was the owner of the place. They were stripping cars before he made Tim a partner right? I don't see how they could make that work, Billy would take the fall because he owned the place. There's no way the police would buy that Tim snuck dozens of cars into the garage and stripped them without Billy knowing.

    by ashokforgiven

Wow I didn't realize we were that close to the end. I thought FNL was running well into Spring! :-(

Been a great season though, one of the best shows right alongside LOST, Dexter, and Breaking Bad.

    This season

    by ch1ps

Has just been awesome though......I think Riggins takes the heat for his brother but leaves Texas...either that, or Billy makes a run for it and leaves Tim to help raise the baby.

Have you even watched this season or the last one? The writing has been better than just about every other show on TV.

As for Coach having job options, this is probably true, but the idea was either for him to coach Dillion or East Dillion.

As for Tim, it could go in many ways. I think we all know Tim will take the blame. Billy just had a child, and well, he has nothing.
