Here's The Red Band COP OUT Trailer!!
Irish Rican here -
Here's the red band trailer for Kevin Smith's COP OUT- which will be hitting theaters February 26th. Seems like the red band trailer brings out the film's vibe a bit better then the green trailer - movie is going to be just a bit filthy.
These trailers still give no clue what this movie is about but at least the red band will make you laugh out loud.

I did not laugh out loud.
-
is the Irish Rican...?
-
Where nobody used their real names and so you had to read reviews by people named Scary Larry?
That's how I'm beginning to feel about AICN. Is the giant cartoon wrestler necessary? -
But I watched the trailer. It´s good!
-
I chuckled a couple of times. But I did feel fucking guilty doing it, which has to count for something in my defense, right?
-
But there's no fucking way I'll ever pay to see this shit. Dick jokes and anal sex references? I can call up any number of my friends and get that material for free.
-
Previous trailers didn't do much, but this one worked for me. And does AICN have a new contributor?
-
So we have a new contributor, and their first piece is news that was on other sites 3 days ago. Cool.
-
just told me that he misses the DVD column.
-
Cos I think its time to hang up his directors chair. I did laugh at the training day line which was then ruined by Willis explaining it was training day.
-
I wasn't sure about this flick based on the first trailer, but unless they showed us all the good stuff in this, I think I'll laugh my ass off.
-
Is this bullshit? And No, I'm not talking about the trailer (which, I, too, chuckled to my dismay) but about this "IRISHRICAN?" Identify yourself fool!
-
going to blame smith?
-
I didn't think anyone could top Chris Tucker in Fifth Element but judging by this trailer Tracy Morgan is gonna run him close.
-
And I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I love Smith. But your description is his bread and butter.
-
is he an IrishriCAN or an IrishriCAN'T?

As someone born and raised in Ireland I am deeply offended and demand that this new guy change his or her name on the grounds that I speak more Irish than you and that make me an authority on Irish affairs since most Irish can't speak the language. :P

For a while, he just never had a graphic.

by kjl451
Since essentially killing off his own characters and turning his back on the universe he created that made him all his money, Smith has really just lost it. It sucks too. I used to respect the guy, but he's just gotten lazier over the years. Phoning it in to the extreme. I mean, how many of you have read the script for DICKS? It wasn't awful, but it wasn't really funny at all either. A shitload of generic jokes. You want funny? Read The Backups. That thing was fucking amazing.
-
If the movie is not funny at all who else would there BE to blame other than Kevin Smith?
I assume you are referencing Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis' really flat and uninspired work in that trailer, and yea, nothing they do (nothing!) is funny in any way. But Kevin Smith DIRECTED this shit. He is the one responsible for the comedic timing and the beats and visual humor.
It's a Kevin Smith movie at the end of the day so if it's shitty....well, then Kevin Smith directed a shitty movie, so yes, I'll blame him. Kind of makes sense. -
I can't remember who did but A Couple of Dicks is Smiths first film that he didn't write himself. Oh and I never heard of Tracy Morgan before this but that trailer has kinda made me not like him.
-
Incredibly funny and I love the chemistry between Morgan and Willis. Some of y'all are just trying way to hard to hate. BTW, Smith didn't write this, kjl451.
-
Way to always be vigilent, AICN. Oh and can Kevin Smith fucking cut it out with the Star Wars references already? At least keep them in the movies and out of the trailer.
-
That'd be the guys behind "Manchild."
-
the original trailer sucked so much ass...
-
Throw in tons of potty jokes and what do you get? Your typical Smith movie, same as always. He never grows up, and neither do his fans.
-
I have hope now that this won't be the first Smith movie I don't like. And to all those who keep saying how Smith has been phoning it in and has been getting increasingly lazier over the years: Shut up. I think he's actually vastly improved on his directing ability since JASBSB. Zack and Miri was a slice of fried gold awesomeness.
-
Rashida Jones looked hot as usual
-
I think it gives the impression that the cast had a good time filming the movie and hopefully that well be reflected on the actual film as well. As an editor, I'm interested in seeing how this is assumingly edited by someone other than Smith. The first trailer REALLY sucked, but the KRS One was nice and now that "Come Baby Come" song are really nice elements that will hopefully exist in the movie as well.
-
... the most overrated director EVER. His lectures are great. His films? Weak. He and Spike Lee should never have been elevated to known filmmakers.
-
It's juvenile, but Tracy Morgan's line delivery always makes me laugh. Best reason to watch 30 Rock.
-
I agree on some level that Spike Lee and Kevin Smith are over-rated, but they deserve their respect as auteurs and independent film-makers. As far as Kevin Smith's Lectures, I personally prefer him on his smodcasts with his producer Scott Mosier, until he got on his "I smoke so much weed I opened my third eye" bullshit.
-
Didnt like the first trailer but will go to see this in the cinema.
-
to say I did laugh out loud when he punched the kids in the balls.....
-
i was telling my brother just last night. either this movie sucks ass cause the commercial was limp at best. or it's too dirty to make a commercial out of. thank holy jesus christ jerking off on the cross that it was the latter.
-
was fucking hilarious, Why do have a feeling we just saw all the best gags this movie has to offer?
-
hey, i just made that up. i like it. i'm probably burning in hell for it if there is a hell. but since there probably isn't either a hell or a tooth fairy. i'm thinking that i'm gonna be fine. unless some crazy religious lunatic kills me for saying it.
-
The post JSBSB Smith has become almost cookie cutter in a fashion I deplore. While I usually savor his dialogue, his complete lack of camera movement and have begun to bother me. Neverthelesss, as I find him to be a stand up guy, I'll give this the benefit of the doubt.
-
i don't know. The idea of Willis playing straight man to Tract Jordan....I mean Morgan sounds amusing in theory....but this just seems rather bland.
Speaking of Tracy Jordan, doesn't this movie seem exactly the kind of thing Jordan would do in 30 Rock? I can see the poster to this next to "Fat Bitch" and "Honky Grandma". -

by watch_the_birdie
I thought that this was just gonna be a somewhat funny rip-off of Lethal Weapon, but Man was I wrong. Im actually looking forward to seeing this.
-
Everyone other than tracy morgan was pretty good.
-
I laughed, I'll see it. And archer1949, Who the fuck is Tract Jordan, or Tracy Jordan for that matter?
-
What are you retards laughing out loud at?
-
is this bring your illiterate mixed-race bastard to work day?yep. i'm nitpicking.
-
This movie looks downright dreadful. As in, SHITTY.
-
I'll give it a shot for sure.
-
But I definitely laughed out loud during the trailer. I'm hoping this acts as kind of a palette-cleanser for Smith. I think he's in sort of a transitional period in his career. I'm really looking forward to Hit Somebody and Red State when he gets around to them.
-
OK, I'm sold.
-
Tracy Jordan is the character Tracy Morgan plays on the sitcom 30 Rock.
-
That mofo elevated HIMSELF to be a "known film maker" by the considerable quality of his movies...and further, the whole "he's overrated" criticism is shallow and empty to the extant that it implies that there are a select cadre of critics who may truly say what is good and bad. Pure BS. If you don't like Kevin Smith or Spike Lee's movies is one thing, but both those guys are excellent examples of individuals who helped define what modern filmmakers can be.
-
but I laughed...and isn't that important in these times?
-
I enjoyed that trailer. Looks like a Hot Tub Time Machine situation here with the green vs. red band trailers giving completely different views on the movies. Another $8.00 is about to get wasted...
-
That's not even a debate. Sheeeeeeeeet!
-
For the record, I like Kevin Smith. However, I can't understand the Morgan casting. Tracy Morgan (like Jimmy Fallon) has never been funny a day in his life. Just as I was about to laugh, Tracy Morgan showed up. It's like your grandmother walking in on a threesome. Goddamn it.
-
Of the Emergency Tard System. If you laughed at any part of this trailer, you are a tard.

I shit myself and jerk off a lot of cocks so for someone to make light of 2 things I consider to be very serious issues is just offensive to me.I have been and still am looking forward to this. Sean William Scott looks like the weakest part.
-
he claimed Cop Out meant he could no longer just rely on dick and fart jokes. Except that appears to be this entire film.
-
i hate to be a hater, but um, thats gonna be a fuckin train wreck. if the trailer showed the best bits, imagine the shitload of fuck the movie will be....TM and BW are a bad buddy movie combo too. urgh.
-
When I think of The Godfather, Coppola comes to mind first, not Mario Puzo. When E.T. comes to mind I think Spielberg, not Melissa Mathison.
I'm not knocking the screenwriters, they are very important. However, the way it is now is that the director gets a lot of the credit for a films success or failure. Ivan Reitman was praised for such films as Ghostbusters and ripped apart for My Super Ex-Girlfriend. -
This may be good. Like the Lethal Weapon of the 2000's. Now, will it be as good as Lethal Weapon? How can it be? We have built those films so high in our brain over the years that they are untouchable. But, that said, you gotta admit this has potential. And it's Silent Bob directing a buddy cop action movie. That alone is worth brownie points, dammit.
-
He punched a kid in the nuts! That's worth 9 bucks right there.
-
Not only that, but one of the oldest knock-knock jokes in the world. Dragged out to about 20 seconds... even in the trailer! Cutting-edge comedy, for sure.
-
but I wasn't laughing. This was better than the first trailer, but I won't be dragging myself to a theater for this.
-
his reaction to farrel shooting himself with the dart made me laugh out loud. and i wasn't even stoned.
-
The hell? Is this the same flick I facepalmed myself through to bone while watching the green band?
Wow...what a little difference a few scenes makes. Hopefully they're not the best. -
I didn't think it was possible for Smith to make a worse film than Clerks 2 but boy this looks tired, cliched and cronically unfunny. This year's Showtime.
-
would have been a perfect foil for Tracy Morgan. Alas.
-
HOW has Spike Lee shaped modern cinema??? You could say Tarantino helped shape modern cinema, or Jackson, or Fincher (styles everyone tries to copy) but SPIKE LEE? No one attempts to copy his still-needs-film-school style. In fact, he steals (slightly) from Scorsese.
-
I'm voting you OFF THE EARTH!
-
I know it to be true
-
Hudson Hawk couldn't do it. Striking Distance couldn't do it. Color of Night couldn't do it. The Jackel couldn't do it. mercury Rising couldn't do it. Hostage couldn't do it. Surrogates couldn't do it.He's finally found the plate of neon-green liquid shit that will nuke his career for good.
-
At Dumbass Tracey... Looks funning, GO Kevin...
-
Bruse Willis is getting to old to do the movies we liike to see him do so he's going to do shit like this to pad the nest egg before disappering. There will most likely be a few more like this shit film..
-
Dude, a director's impact on modern film making isn't just about his "style" has been copied (even though Lee's own style definitely has been extensively, even overtly by the likes of Kevin Smith himself).
Whether you like his politics or not, you can't argue that Spike Lee is one of the most prolific modern directors to directly place the issue of racial and sexual identity as a meaningful story element in what are essentially pop corn movies. And no, his movies are NOT all about race or "just" about race just because he consciously includes it as a relevant factor for many of his characters or stories. Check out The 25th Hour for example, the story of that movie doesn't focus on race or 9/11 at all yet these are both important contextual elements for the story. Even beyond this, the dude has a strong visual and directorial style of his own that keeps evolving but which is identifiable enough that many people can see a sequence and say "that's a Spike Lee shot"...try watching Do the Right Thing and Inside Man back to back and you'll see what I mean. Moreover the man has made some extraordinarily powerful documentaries like When the Levees Broke and Four Little Girls and basically reinvigorated the standup comedy film format with The Original Kings of Comedy.
It's fine if you don't like his movies, but to dismiss Spike as a serious film maker is just preposterous.... -
Honestly this looks 100Xs better than the typical comedy that gets released nowadays...AND did I also spot Rashida Jones in this??? Yeah, I'd watch this...
-
... and it was actually funny. I didn't expect it to be good after that first crappy trailer, but there are some genuinely funny parts in it. (Although they shouldn't have spoiled the kid car thief part - it was one of the better bits in the movie.)
-
Yes, Spike is a filmmaker. But is he a film maker that has "shaped modern cinema"? Absolutely not. He's had no influence in how today's films are told. You need to be more honest about it. Which of his films "shaped" movies of today? "She Gotta Have It"? "School Daze"? "Mo' Better Blues"? "Crooklyn"? "Clockers"? "Girl 6"? "She Hate Me"?... That's some "groundbreaking" movies there!
-
fuck this
-
I actually think some of those are pretty interesting movies that have added to and helped to expand the narrative and thematic content of film today. The man has helped to "shape modern cinema" in much the same way that scorcese has... by showing that independent directors can make some quality flicks that don't fall into established genres.
-
.. and I'm looking forward to seeing Bobby Brown starring alongside Bruce Willis in Cop Out.
-
..so THERE!
-
This movie looks like shit!
