Why such a long break?
-
Just saying... she's hands-down top-10 hot sci-fi babes too.
-
I think thats what was up. ABC halted production bc of a) the economy or b) unsure feelings about the product or c) bullshit reasons (which could also be reason a).
-
All the more reason to watch, loved the guy as Krycek on The X-Files. Seems like 'V' is keeping me glued to this series.
-
loved the 2 V miniseries from the 80s. I tried to watch this new version, but while it has good production values, the writing is awfully dull and there really was not much lizard mayhem in the eps I saw.
I'd love to see the original version to see if it stands up today. -
Damn, when I saw the headline I thought it was refering to new writers. That's why the show sucks. Poor writing and one dimensional characters. The show needs better writing.
-
Nicholas Rea is a welcome addition to the show.
-
The show is treading water and needs to stop treading water. Suck people in with some strong stories and even a little action. Then once you have them you can take your time a bit.
-
damn shame. good potential for this series but needs better writing. I already dumped Caprica after last weeks unintentional laugh-fest.
-
1939: Adventure Comics #40
-
adding more characters aint gonna change that while the original series had something to say about the nature of man...what is the point of this one shit, we arent even getting cool fx but here is how to fix the show...make the v leader show up naked in every epi
-
the jsa thread...and i love the original sandman
-
I like V and feel with some fine-tuning it could be incredible.
-
Pilot was good and then it lagged in the middle and the last ep before hiatus was pretty good too with all the ships waiting off in the distance.Like it was mentioned above....its the writing. I wanted more tension in the first few episodes, more paranoia, more panic. The fifth column shit was cool but I wasn't getting much fear from the V's as I would like as a viewer.I think they are working with a really good cast but they need to get more tension and action in the mix. Put the underground rebel movement in motion. JOHN MAY LIVES! I want it to be good..I really do. With Lost on it's way out ABC needs a large FX showpiece.
-
V has been a tad slow so far, but interesting enough to keep me tuning in, and I like all three of the new additions.
-
didn't find it that slow tbh
-
Needs more interest.First episode was intriguing - not great, not bad, but each got exponentially less interesting as it went on. Even the final "ooooh they are going to invaaaaade" shot left me cold. If 5 doesn't capture me right off the bat I'm done.
-
Was the fact that they were basically the Space Nazis. The whole totalitarian vibe is what really made it work, and the look of the Visitors stayed in line with this...stark white ships, blood red suits, black visors so you can't see their face...all this new shit with the subterfuge and terrorism and slowly sinking into human culture to take us from within...it's an ok idea, but it's pretty boring, and doesn't carry a 10th the weight of seeing a faceless alien Stormtrooper asking for your papers.
-
I mean every episode is pitched just before the big lizard reveal in the miniseries, but it never gets past that. Lameness...
-
This is a show to make about the island of women with no men, but they show all the sex with women only and NO CLOTHS!!! It is a milon dolar idea, I can even write it and direct the show! Who will see it?????
-
couldnt get enough of it!
-
where the pool of Sci-fi/SyFy/syndicated/C-movie actors all wait to be cast in the next project. Almost as predictable as the Whedon Company of Players.Wasn't ABC ready to dump V last year? How many "lifeline" episodes will they actually order?
-
Back when she was the announcer/host on that Nintendo/Sega-era video game show on Canada's YTV. Then she popped up on Andromeda with a makeover and her teeth straightened, sadly looking like every other catalogue model.
-
Who eventually make their way down to Hollywood. We'd have more in Canada if we weren't so dependent on government grants and handouts and if we made TV for Canadians that other countries found interesting instead of making B-movie and B-tv grade crap for the US and because it will sell in Malaysia or South America or Germany (with some exceptions to the rule: BSG, X-Files, SG-1, Millenium).

will the Visitors say they got the message, and they're finally going to focus on, "Jobs, jobs, jobs!"
Read ABC made them kill a throwaway line about the v's being awarded the Nobel prize.
I just hope they use more Sigur Ros. -
On the original V, there was a lot of sneeking around and sneaking on and off mother ships for vaious reasons. The sneaking around took the viewer on a great ride because the resistance members almost got caught so many times.
On a pickiness note, all references to "the V's" needs to go! Call them "Visitors" dammit! I especially hate that the visitors even refer to themselves in private as "V's" when there are no humans around. Doesn't their race have a real name they can refer to themselves as? -
I like the show so far (but can't imagine what more NBC can do to kill it after taking the show off the air for 4 months after only 4 episodes - how could it possibly build an audience?) But, even if the ratings end up supporting keeping it on the air, the story won't support it. The resistance must eventually prevail, at which point the show's reason d'etre vanishes. But the show can only plausibly continue for a finite length of time before victory must be achieved, or it will become hopelessly repetitive... how many ambushes/attacks/sabotage episodes can there be before the audience gives up and tunes out? Look what happened with the original V television series from back in the 80's - no, not the miniseries, the weekly serial that they did after the miniseries. Cancelled after 10 episodes or so.

Looks like we're getting a Ham Tyler-ish guy in the V mix...
by mrmysteryguest
Wonder what the black ops guy's name is?
-
Damn you Daniel Jackson! You lucky sonofabitch! As for the V's, they should start showing nonstop brazillian scat and vomit porn on those huge ship screens of theirs as a tactic to fuck with the humans.
-
...And besides, everyone knows it's called "Siffy", now.
-
How is it that horrible science fiction like this continues to get renewed when REAL science fiction is horribly maligned? Honestly, do we really need another retread? I really do miss Defying Gravity; at least it took a chance with some original material. This show is just a$$candy.
-
right frickin now!

They need to stop skating around the fact that the V's are Lizar
by thecomedian
They need to show more lizard stuff like the original. In fact with today's make up and cgi effects they could have a whole episode with Monica Barrin as Anna in complete lizard make up that takes place on the ship or their homeworld or something. They're trying to do this slow boil on the reveal since viewers already know from the original series and this new one but it's lame. I'd love to see a whole episode where all the main V characters aren't wearing their human skins. That's not what's going to save the show but they need a little more of a scifi element.

word
-
Didn't they learn ANYTHING from the clusterfuck that was "Heroes"? Instead of better writing, "Heroes" added more cast members ... and that worked miracles didn't it. The four episodes were "bleh" at best: 98% of "boring & predictable" with 2% "potential". And will someone PLEASE explain how it is that you can RIP their "human" skin off HOWEVER it's clear they were able to develop "penis" skin that STRETCHES because they've been having sex with humans ... or is that one of "those things we suspend reality and just accept"?
-
that shoulda been ABC not NBC ... not to imply that thay haven't proven themselves to be equally dumb across the board.
-
Adding Airwolf is usually the automatic cure for all things bad on television. You'd think the networks would have learned this by now.
-
was looking bloated the last time I saw him on Kyle XY
Not fat, bloated
Wonder if he's un-well and they have to give him steroids
He didn't have a boozy look -
then their lizard heads have to be smaller than a human head. so the challenge of doing characters in full human makeup is to put lizard faces on top of the actors human face but make it look small enough to fit inside another human face. Masks within masks, you see. Not that easy.
-
I'm surprised.
-
She shares a similar look to Morena/Anna, surprised they're not connected. Hopefully the new cast members will help add some of that more epic, sprawling feel of the original (ok, LA based story, but still).
