ScoreKeeper Giving Away Five Copies of John Murphy's ARMORED Score On CD!!

Published at:  Jan 26, 2010 5:51:24 PM CST

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here with a short and sweet quickie just before the weekend. As I mentioned in my last freebie article, I've got a ton of soundtracks to giveaway. While I'm currently still accepting entries for the ultra-cool LEGION CDs autographed by composer John Frizzell, I thought I'd sneak in another quick giveaway to further fuel the feeding-frenzy.

Lots of film music buffs are becoming more attracted to composer John Murphy's work. He's certainly established an eclectic array of scores in a relatively short period of time. Favorites have included LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS (1998), SNATCH (2000), 28 DAYS LATER (2002), SUNSHINE (2007), 28 WEEKS LATER (2007), and THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (2009) which I gave away copies of last year.

This time I've got five copies of his latest score CD, ARMORED (2009), which was just released by La-La Land Records. I've been so barraged with new music that I myself have not even had a chance to check this one out but I'll be remedying that shortly.

So what do you have to do to claim one of these five CDs?

Email me at scorekeeper@aintitcool.com using the subject: I'M ARMORED UP! and include your full name, mailing address, a valid email address, your favorite heist-flick score, and your favorite John Murphy score. The deadline will be Friday, January 29th, at 11:59PM EST. Only one entry per person please. International entries will be accepted. Duplicates will be discarded.

I will collect all of the entries and then randomly select five lucky winners who will be receiving a copy of the soundtrack CD for ARMORED composed by John Murphy, courtesy of La-La Land Records.

This is live for only a few days so send in your right now!!

For more information including audio samples and order placement please visit La-La Land Records.

Sorry, just wanted to let everyone know that this native New Orleanian is feeling it after a long 43 year wait. Geaux Saints. Back to the Armored score...sorry.

the only reason I watched Armored

    by soundjam

was because it leaked onto the Playstation Network for about an hour, as free. around the week it came out in theaters.

the score seemed to consist primarily of rip-offs of various Massive Attack songs.

    Sunshine was his best moment

    by danielplainviewonvacationinboston

and he didn't do it alone. And "28 Weeks Later" was excellent work, as well. But NOTHING from "Armored" was good.

    1. Sunshine 2. Last House on the Left 3. 28 Weeks/Days Later

    by minderthr33

Those are his best work (in order) IMO.

"The Surface of the Sun" and "In the Boathouse" I can listen on loop over and over again.

    Worst of the decade? Really?

    by spectrebeeyatch

Serious over statement. Was it great or even good? Not really. But jeez worst of the decade? No.

    Armoured was just too simple

    by adelai niska

They were so focused on making the movie "tight" that they never gave it room to be "good." cardboard characters, simplistic climax, no surprises, decent concept, good cast. Didn't give me hope for Predators.
