JOURNEYMAN Creator May Mount FX Version Of POWERS??

“Journeyman” mastermind Kevin Falls is reportedly hours from forwarding to FX executives his pilot script for “Powers,” based on the funnybook by Brian Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, sources tell Ain't It Cool.
If FX greenlights the Sony pilot, Michael Dinner (“Karen Sisco,” “Kidnapped”) is reportedly set to direct.
The ongoing comic, launched in 2000, follows police department homicide detectives who specialize in cases connected to people with superpowers.

Hopefully it will display humans without powers that learn to be extraordinary just to take out the murderers. It can show that humans can adapt and overcome.

Loved Journeyman. And Michael Dinner's best work to date is the Sons of Anarchy pilot. Listing any shows over that after his name is a disgrace to his work there.

You'll be lucky to get a half-assed X-23 series and a POWER PACK sitcom. Which is bullshit, because NEW MUTANTS could be a great movie or series. Shit, for that matter so could POWER PACK. If done correctly.And that won't happen.

I liked Journeyman though I had problems with it. I love Powers (though I have yet to read its newest run even though I bitched about its long absence while it was gone). I thought from issue 1 that this would make a great TV series. I'm just glad that it is finally getting that chance!

You've obviously never read 'Powers', because it couldn't be any farther from any of the shows you mentioned, where the focus is on heroes foiling bad guys and fighting arch-nemises. In the world of 'Powers', the heroes are more like the dead-bodies someone discovers at the beginning of an episode of 'Law & Order', and Walker & Pilgrim are the Briscoe and Logan sorting through all the tangled personal problems and mundane implications of people with super powers. Quite clever really.
