Hercules Implores You To Watch Tonight’s Arnett-Enhanced First New PARKS AND RECREATION Of This Bold New Decade!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!
I got to see tonight’s “Parks and Recreation,” which could be the series’ funniest to date. So watch. Time Magazine listed “Parks” on its Top 10 list for 2009. CBS, ABC and The CW are just running repeats in the 8 p.m. hour.
NBC says:
Ann (Rashida Jones) sets Leslie (Amy Poehler) up on a blind date with a co-worker (guest star Will Arnett), which does not go as well as Leslie hoped. An old friend of Ann's (guest star Justin Theroux) makes Mark (Paul Schneider) feel insecure.
That’s no typo. “Iron Man 2” writer Justin Theroux guest stars.
If you can’t make it out, this is the ad Ron asked April to post:
Job, assistant to a man. Low pay. Apply at Parks Department.
Also, Jack Black’s on tonight’s “Community,” which I have not seen:
“Community”: 8 p.m. Thursday. NBC.
“Parks and Recreation”: 8:30 p.m. Thursday. NBC.

Why is she being set up on dates?

On my FIRST EVER Talkback. And oh my reign shall be glorious ya bouys!
-
bolted Pawnee late last year after dating the Knope for three months.
-
His reserve unit got called to active duty in San Deigo
-
That has to be embarrassing.
-
I think it's the funniest of the Thursday line-up. Plus, two new episodes tonight.
-
just get over it. it's a new decade.
-
If you get a first, try being original. Then, if it turns out you aren't first, you just have a clever second or third. Why do people obsess with first? It just leaves you feeling empty and stupid after, especially because no one gives a fuck that you're first. Say something hilarious with your first though...and people will respect you.
PJ285 - FAIL -
but it sucks ass - it's a lame "Office in a new setting" ripoff that is terribly unfunny. I gave it a few eps but all the jokes fell flat. Plus, Amy Pohler is okay, but I never found her that good, even at SNL (except when she did Weekend Update). She's waaay better than Kristen Wiig, though.
-
That gets old FAST! How many shows do that now? Even the amazing Modern Family uses that approach.
-
From TBS's late 10 Items Or Less, the delusional store manager, although she is less delusional than she was in the first mini season.
-
Comic gold..he's homoriffic.
-
I can't watch Parks and Rec.I can watch Community.
-
Justin Thoroeux will REALLY be there?!? A star of that caliber? No way, I didn't read that right...are you absolutly sure?
I'm buying a TiVo right fucking now! -
He was brilliant on Arrested Development (still, in my mind, the best comedy series ever). I would pay money to see him actually do a magic show. Like, a real one. Hopefully he can be a somewhat regular on Parks. After all, he does have a bit of a connection with Amy.
-
the 1st couple seasons were ammusing but it has morphed into an exercise in formula. Just alot of lame edits and flashbacks. I guess it's the Family Guy syndrome. I can't believe it sweeps the awards every year. Seems like its a show for culturally retarded people to watch so they can think theyre hip talking about it around the water cooler the next day.
-
Except for Conan.
-
But it's still not as good as Community or 30 Rock. They really need to ditch the talking to cameras shtick. At least it's better than the office has been lately though, god that show has become too drab. (Spoiler warning) And Kathy Bates arriving is not going to help anything.
-
is ten times better than the strongest episode of Parks and Rec has been. Time to make 'Special Drink'
-
...is how I rate the Thursday shows...30 Rock comes fourth but doesnt get my full attention...at first Parks was terrible due to Leslies crush wit that guy, but once that ended, everythin got funny...and wasnt a big fan of Community at first, but Troy is fuckin hilarious, he single handlely saves that show
-
Its really not that good.
-
of Jack Black on Community, but then remembered Modern Family did the same with Elizabeth Banks, Ben Bratt, and best of all Edward Norton. So, never mind.

F*** You, Herc, I Won't Do What You Tell Me To!!!

I have never seen a show improve as much as Parks and Rec
by quin the eskimo
If you've written off the first couple shows, I understand. Try again though. Stabby, RATM, is it 2001? :)
-
Everyone keeps saying what a disaster NBC is because of the late night thing, but lost is that their Thursday lineup is the best night of television comedy in years. From the moment Leslie started rapping Parents Just Don't Understand in the premiere, I could tell Parks and Rec had taken it to a new level.
-
Parks and Recreation had me by about the third episode of the second season. I mildly enjoyed it up until that point, but it has really hit is stride. Love the characters now. I think this season of The Office is much improved over last year, and I also enjoy The Office. Thursday nights on NBC are a blast.
-
Brilliant movie.
-
Makes everything funnier. Fact.
-
So yeah, Community is awful, and the ratings prove it. The entire cast looks like they were taken out of McDonalds commercials.
-
But Community has completely grabbed my attention. I think the cast has great chemistry with each other and it's very entertaining.
-
No debate necessary on which is better. Community is having one of the best first seasons I've ever seen (waaaaay better than the first 6 eps of U.S. Office or P&R, though still not quite at the inhuman out-of-the-gate brilliance of Arrested Development S1), and Parks and Rec has quickly become my favorite show of the night. Every week is better than the last, and anyone who's not onboard yet just never will be. It's OK though. I know people who still don't see the big fuss over AD, either. All you can do is feel sorry for them, and remind them that they'll always have Jay Leno.
-
and it has been since midway thru season 1. Community isn't terrible but it's way too Saved by the Bellish.
-
When they talked about the Hugo Chavez fountain spitting at the local citizens I couldn't stop laughing for five minutes.
-
was superb

Sorry Amy Poehler. You're awesome but your employer sucks
by margot_tenenbaum
No 30 Rock, The Office, Parks & Rec or Chuck for me. Sorry.
Fuck NBC, Jay Leno and Hulu. -
C'mon, GOB Bluth? Classic. I can't really get into P&R, I keep trying. I'll watch tonight for Arnett. But Community and 30 Rock are much better.
-
Nobody cares about this crap.
-
Don't punish good, deserving, funny shows because of the shit-brained network that airs them.
-
... has really taken me by surprise. Lately it has consistently been the funniest show on TV.
If you haven't watched it, do yourself a favor and tune in. -
I never miss the Thursday night line-up on NBC. Though P&R and Community both took a few episodes to get going, they are consistently funny week after week now. The Office, after stumbling a little last season (Michael Scott Paper Company) is back to being hilarious and 30 Rock is gold, or Goldcase, as the case may be. All 4 of these shows are better than anything on flippin' CBS. Yeah, I'm talking to you Charlie and the nerds!
-
was really pretty good, the Jack black casting worked as opposed to the Jack Black Office cameo. and the surprise cameo at the end was really nice touch, glad NBC didn't spoil that
-
I so like these shows, but fuck NBC. I've been watching Conan forever and I don't collect social security so i never cared about Leno's stupid ass jokes. The little charm this network used to hold is dead to me. Fuck NBC.
-
"Are you on your period?" "No, does it matter?" "Not for this." What a great episode.
-
That fantasy sequence of her in a cheerleader outfit should be run on a constant loop.
-
The stupid useless "cinema verite" format of P&R makes it seem like an even worse The Office (which is pretty bad now itself) and I can't stand to watch more than a minute or so because the cast is so terrible. Community, however, is stellar, even with dumb stunt casting (Jack Black, Owen Wilson). The cast is superb; the writing is good, and very often brilliant. It's my favorite show and the only reason I still devote 30 minutes of my time to the cesspool that is NBC.
-
Best DJ ever! Or one of the yuppies from American Psycho.
-
god I love these shows. its hard to believe that the office is kinda sitting in 3rd right now, but mainly b/c we're not learning anything new about those characters. We're not seeing any new dimensions.
-
of Louis CK in the background.
-
and I'm so ill, this is a warning I can't be killed!
That spanish 102 rap part made me laugh like nothing this week. Community, modern family and 30 rock where it's at.
