Luke Will Play Luke In The DEATH RACE Prequel!!

Published at:  Jan 07, 2010 11:55:28 AM CST

Merrick here...

Clint over at MovieHole as the inside track on who'll head-up the cast in the next DEATH RACE movie.

Luke Goss will take the lead in DEATH RACE: FRANKENSTEIN LIVES, the Roel Reiné directed, Paul W.S. Anderson produced prequel to Anderson's 2008 DEATH RACE redux. MovieHole also says the title will be straight-to-DVD, a fact which wasn't entirely clear for a while.

Luke...

...plays Luke, the young man that donned the 'Frankenstein' mask prior to Jensen Ames (Jason Statham's character in Paul W.S Anderson's "Death Race").

...says MovieHole HERE.

A few months ago we gleaned some details regarding the project's plot & characters. You can find that report HERE. Look for the film to hit in 2011, if memory serves.

I dig his work in "Blade 2" and "Hellboy 2". I think people have completely forgotten "When will I be famous?" from the eighties. What a successful re-invention this guy has managed.

He was an alien face changer in the Fringe season 2 premiere. He's been fun to watch in the few things I've seen him in (haven't seen the Tekken movie, though), but did we really need a prequel to that shitfest of a remake?

Paul "What Script?" Anderson is such a fucking useless cunt. The original Death Race 2000 was a classic exploitation films by Paul Bartel and that worthless asswipe turned it into yet another LOUD and obnoxious piece of cinematic trash. At least he's not Directing the sequel. Hopefully they've got someone more qualified like a retarded chimp.

Mail Online is reporting that Steve Austin broke Sylvester Stallone's neck. The injury occurred during the filming for The Expendables when Austin and Stallone were doing a fight scene. The fight resulted in a hairline fracture in Stallone's neck and emergency afterwards to insert a metal plate in it.

    Pilfered memo:

    Hey there--

We were just notified that our schedule is pushing. We will NOT be starting as planned. I’m terribly sorry for this news, and I hope this email reaches you in time to find other options. We do not know how long we are pushing, and we will not know until mid-January. By mid-January, we will be told how long the push is, whether it be 2 weeks, 2 months, or something else. The studio has every intention of making the movie, but we no longer have a confirmed start date.

Again, I’m terribly sorry, but Sam Raimi has story issues [that] need to be resolved before we are ready to shoot.

Feel free to call me if you have any questions.

    by skimn

King is quoted as saying in regards to that cinematic gem.."I didn`t get the job because I went to film school. I got the job because I`m Stephen King. If you become famous enough, they`ll let you hang yourself in Times Square with live TV coverage"..and.." [Asked why he hasn`t personally directed more movies] Just watch "Maximum Overdrive"". So he knows its a piece of shit. But yea, I always get the idea King would choose a Big Mac over a filet mignon if given a choice.
