Luke Will Play Luke In The DEATH RACE Prequel!!
Merrick here...
Clint over at MovieHole as the inside track on who'll head-up the cast in the next DEATH RACE movie.
Luke Goss will take the lead in DEATH RACE: FRANKENSTEIN LIVES, the Roel Reiné directed, Paul W.S. Anderson produced prequel to Anderson's 2008 DEATH RACE redux. MovieHole also says the title will be straight-to-DVD, a fact which wasn't entirely clear for a while.
Luke...
...plays Luke, the young man that donned the 'Frankenstein' mask prior to Jensen Ames (Jason Statham's character in Paul W.S Anderson's "Death Race").
...says MovieHole HERE.
A few months ago we gleaned some details regarding the project's plot & characters. You can find that report HERE. Look for the film to hit in 2011, if memory serves.

Double Post! YES!
-
I dig his work in "Blade 2" and "Hellboy 2". I think people have completely forgotten "When will I be famous?" from the eighties. What a successful re-invention this guy has managed.
-
2010 might not be so bad.
-
He was an alien face changer in the Fringe season 2 premiere. He's been fun to watch in the few things I've seen him in (haven't seen the Tekken movie, though), but did we really need a prequel to that shitfest of a remake?
-
I quite enjoyed the first one. However, this will almost certainly blow. Most stuff by 'Water Shit' Anderson™ does after all.
-
Surely a role that would suit his acting limitations perfectly?
-
He's only executive producing it, he's back to his old ways after this remake and he's still going to be doing shit films. Resident Evil, Castlevania etc.
-
And then they do a sequel with both Goss and Statham. Or actors playing their respective characters anyway.
-
Pulse-pounding news, truly.
-
...that came up with this one?
-
No deal.
-
I'll give this a shot. The remake came through with some strong kablooie.
-
No, Luke Skywalker you inbred bitch.
-
Big on video..isn't that Anderson's career in a nutshell?

Best Blade movie because of Luke!! Is this gonna be in 3-D dvd:)
by thedannerdaliel
Let`s hope....
-
...as long as he dosn't sing I'll be happy.
-
the boy's done good to say, he was in a crappy boy band with his twin and a mate of theirs.
-
Maybe Goss can play the next Robocop.
-
Has Hollywood ever put out a direct to dvd 3D yet? Just curious.
-
I guarantee you'll have a better time.
-
Paul "What Script?" Anderson is such a fucking useless cunt. The original Death Race 2000 was a classic exploitation films by Paul Bartel and that worthless asswipe turned it into yet another LOUD and obnoxious piece of cinematic trash. At least he's not Directing the sequel. Hopefully they've got someone more qualified like a retarded chimp.
-
I mean, I love this site...but does news about a film like Death Race 2 really merit that kind of enthusiasm? Especially since its direct to dvd?
-
Truly, a real "Clockwork Orange"/car chase movie would be something to behold. It's been so long since I've seen the original DR2K, but that is not how I would have described it... makes me want to rewatch it right now.
-
Last year Stephen King named Death Race one of the years 10 best. This year he names the Last House On The Left remake number 2 behind Hurt Locker. And he likens it to Silence Of The Lambs. Please Uncle Stevie, let me have a toke or two, it must be some wild shit.
-
made him millions and millions. They were insanely huge at the time. To say he is now in a direct to video movie is hardly doing good considering his last movie was hellboy 2. That said it is the lead, so i'll say it's a good start on the road to being a more well known actor. good luck to him.
-
He needs the money Didn't Bros get conned out of millions in the nineties?
-
Mail Online is reporting that Steve Austin broke Sylvester Stallone's neck. The injury occurred during the filming for The Expendables when Austin and Stallone were doing a fight scene. The fight resulted in a hairline fracture in Stallone's neck and emergency afterwards to insert a metal plate in it. -
Everything is being done in 3-D these days.
-
Am I the only one tired of these??
-
It would appear so, yes.
-
2012 at number 10? He must be joking... but now I do want to see that LHotL remake, just for shits and giggles.
-
There's so much of the rich "Death Race" backstory I want to explore!! Hope to god this gets the full prequel trilogy it deserves.
-
Frickin prequels to shit films? Ok, the Death Race remake entertained me, but was a wasted chance. How about a prequel to my ass, Hollywood!
-
I can't answer, I can't answer that!
I wonder if he still has Grolsh bottle tops on his shoes??? -

and yes i was talking about going from stardom in the UK to obscurity to be a main actor in the likes of Blade Hell boy - like 20 years later, sure the stv is pretty rough, but still.

Pilfered memo:
Hey there--
We were just notified that our schedule is pushing. We will NOT be starting as planned. I’m terribly sorry for this news, and I hope this email reaches you in time to find other options. We do not know how long we are pushing, and we will not know until mid-January. By mid-January, we will be told how long the push is, whether it be 2 weeks, 2 months, or something else. The studio has every intention of making the movie, but we no longer have a confirmed start date.
Again, I’m terribly sorry, but Sam Raimi has story issues [that] need to be resolved before we are ready to shoot.
Feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Let's not forget that when we're discussing Big Steve's taste in movies.
-
FLOCKA!
-
....Wilson. Don't know why.
-
"Sam Raimi has story issues [that] need to be resolved before we are ready to shoot." I hope one of the issues is getting the fuck rid of this "Vultress" thing
-
...Goss winding up in THE HOBBIT as some sort of elf.
-
Fuck you if you do.
-
Ron Perlman being cast as Beorn in THE HOBBIT.
-
King is quoted as saying in regards to that cinematic gem.."I didn`t get the job because I went to film school. I got the job because I`m Stephen King. If you become famous enough, they`ll let you hang yourself in Times Square with live TV coverage"..and.." [Asked why he hasn`t personally directed more movies] Just watch "Maximum Overdrive"". So he knows its a piece of shit. But yea, I always get the idea King would choose a Big Mac over a filet mignon if given a choice.

Sam Mendes to direct the next Bond movie?
by isleptwithkathybatesandallthatigotwasthi
I'm not too sure whether that's a good idea or not. Interesting to see if he can handle action scenes though.
-
i cant wait for the prequel of the prequel of the prequel.
-
He was dead serious about that film. Thought it was scary as hell (remember the trailer?). But, after it bombed, he back-peddled and said it was meant to be shit. What a douche.
-
Max Overdrive is still a guilty pleasure. The soda machine and the steam-roller. Jesus. Had they been in a better movie, they would truly be intense.

First DTV sequel movie that is better than the first?
by spectrebeeyatch
Starting to look like it. Anyway to that ass posting about the Spidey 4 bullshit email. I know it's fake because no business email like that would put the directors name and blame to it. You're of full of shit.
-
will I be famous? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS44KtUh22g
-
anderson is on a level with uwe boll (except resident evil 1 which i enjoyed the shit out of )
-
that I quite enjoyed the first one! Is it as good as Deathrace 2000? Nope. Do I care? Nope. It is what it is, and for me that was a pretty fun ride! So, I'm definately on bored for this, even if it is straight to DVD. Oh, and Big Mac's and a nice filet mignon are both good ;-)
-
that's a man's movie if i ever saw one.
example
man's movie = mad max
boy's movie = fast and the furious -

I'd like to dub there attack music over the shower scene in Psycho
-
Didn't Carradine do a cameo voice appearance as the masked Frankenstein in the opener of the remake? How they gonna fuck THAT up for us?
-
I really can't care less. Been trying for several seconds now. Hmmm.
-
I'm serious. Roel Reine is a fairly good DTV director.
-
It's like THE THING 2 (prequel really), it's like 'Well we know he dies in the opening unless they retcon it and screw up everything...'
-
The man swings swords with amazing grace. Now he gets to drive a fucking car. Yawn.
-
Hmm.. seems the recent remake bombed because it sucked with a relentless fury. They are banking on a prequel to crap?
-
Bombs do something generally useful, like clearing stumps out of farmland!
-
Seriously. I need my straight to dvd news.
-
Or was that Matt Goss? I can never tell the difference between those two!
-
...you have to wonder just how shitty the concept is. I like Statham a lot, but that dude seems to be in Sam Jackson mode, just working like hell all the time no matter how flimsy the script. So when he passes on something that could earn him an easy buck . . . I have to wonder just how horrible it must be.
