New HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON Trailer!

Published at:  Jan 02, 2010 12:16:22 AM CST

Hey folks, Harry here. I don't have a strong bead on HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON yet. I'm definitely up for seeing it, but it is visually a very different looking style. Right? I just am not sure where it is all going yet. Definitely looks like it could be a good deal of fun, eh?

The only reason I'm still vaguely interested in seeing this

    by jardinier

is because it's from the directors of LILO & STITCH (hence, presumably, why the main dragon's face looks like that of a certain ultra-dense mischievous blue alien). This trailer is better than the first one, if only because the horribly miscast main character talks less. My main interest lies in finding out who the marketing department stole the music from, though. I ought to know both the main cues (the one over the montage at the beginning, and the one after the teen Viking in drag said "You're crazy"), it's nagging at me... #1 sounds like James Newton Howard or possibly John Williams, #2 sounds Patrick Doyle-ish.

Also, though I've liked Jay Baruchnel in the past, his voice feels all off for his character in these trailers. Too old, too crabby, too bored even. Maybe it plays different (read: better) in the movie itself.

    by jimbojones123

Because the studios just cannot find it in themselves to create a strong female lead. 1 female character for every 7 male characters us the going ration currently, right. Bo Peep and Mrs. Potato Head will have to hold their own again in TS3. Sally and Flo and the old bag will tinker in the background of Cars 2. The only female in Up was dead before the film started. EVE in Wall-E was a humongous bitch. Tigress was a gloryhog and Snake wallpaper in Kung Fu Panda. Princess and the Frog was still surrounded by all boys. Gigantica was one girl in boystown, and Insectasaurous does not count. Boo on cartoon Hollywood. And Hollywood in general.

    by performingmonkey

OK it's only really like Temeraire because of the black dragon he's raising from birth, the relationship with the dragon, people riding dragons into battle etc. but still, the studios know people would rather see THIS than Temeraire, which is why Jackson is going down the TV series route (which will suck btw).

    This is a Cartoon

    by anything but tangerines

Here's the difference between animation and cartoons: Animation of course encompasses all styles, but cartoons in particular denote slapstick, face-contorting nonsense. Characters that bob their entire head all over the place when they talk are cartoons. If their eyes change size and shape to emphasize emotion, that is a cartoon. If explosions and fires simply make a character "dirty", you're watching a cartoon. Generally, if the title of this piece of animation is thrust into your face and screamed at you, it's a cartoon. Animation can be for anyone, but cartoons are for kids.

All these CG movies are total crap and are not funny. They are made to sell happy meals and plastic shit. Their "humor" if you can call it that is based on having people act contemporary in a fantastical setting, that's it. Not funny and not entertaining for anyone more than six years old. Thank god the Japanese are finally making CG films because they just might be able to save the genre from the preschool anal vomit coming out of Hollywood.

    by mithrandil

We are seeing everyone in the world trying to capitalize on how great Pixar is. In the 90's there was so much crap animation from all those trying to make a quick buck off of the hard work that Disney was putting into the genre. 10 years later and the same now with CGI, And Dreamworks is the biggest culprit. Pure Sh!t. Period. Not that Princess and the Frog is the greatest but 2012 can't come fast enough. I think the human race has it coming when The Chipmunks 2 makes money hand over fist while a very good Princess and the Frog struggles.

stroke it to the verge of climax and then squeeze very hard at the base to choke back the "fire". Try this with varying stimulus from mild(lady dragon in a bathing suit)in the beginning and working up to very strong stimulus(pictures of Amy Winehouse with her ass cheeks spread). Hey, this is dragon stimulus. No one said you would like it. Like training a dragon was gonna be easy. Make sure you mop up all the "fire" when your done too.
