Figures in grey represent repeats.

* “Scrubs” hit its worst number ever for a new episode while competing against repeats on the other four broadcast networks.

* Even fewer people watched the new episode of “Better Off Ted.”

* Slated against repeats of “Good Wife” and Oprah’s “Christmas in the White House,” “Leno” hit its worst Tuesday number to date.

* “Leno” followed a low-rated repeat of “Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?” While “Leno” always seems to perform best when following a reality show, this is clearly not the case when the reality show is a rerun.

    Better Off Ted...

    by gislef_crow

Was an okay episode. Any ep with Maz Jobrani is worth watching. The plots on this one were a little too... normal. Linda learns a very important lesson in life. Lem resolves issues with his mother. Even Veronica seemed kinda subdued. Although giving testosterone to her sister was good.
However, it's not like people tune out in the middle of an episode and ratings plummet. Any given episode's quality doesn't matter except as a general trend. ABC has to advertise it BEFORE it airs. And I mean more than three minutes before the new episode premiere.

network tv would be fine if it wasnt for reality shows

    by bouncy x

all those shows are just terrible and anyone who enjoys any of them just lack intelligence. but anyway on to my point.....many reality shows get huge ratings out the gate so networks now expect every show to do that well and of course they all dont. some shows do need time to grow but arent given the chance. and then not to mention how much cheaper reality tv is to make vs. a scripted show. i'm fairly confident had this whole reality tv phase not happened, network tv wouldnt be doing so badly...........unless you aired on Fox, they've always been terrible.

1.5 may be Leno's Tuesday nadir

    by hercules

but it's not necessarily a crappy rating, at least in NBC's eyes. The network says if he can average a 1.5, the network makes $300 million annually.

But I think I also heard the NBC affiliate in Baltimore saw a 54% (!) plunge in its late newscast's viewership since Leno's primetime launch. Other affiliates have suffered significant hits to their bottom line as well, as has NBC's own Conan/Fallon late-night line-up. These are the factors that might lead to the Leno's cancellation, not Leno's ratings in themselves. (This assumes of course Leno can keep its average above 1.5 -- by no means a certainty at this point.)

And none of the students are very likable. Now that Braff is off the show I won't be watching it. It used to be one of my favorite shows, but now it is just sad.

    ted episode

    by dradis contact

I teach high school, so I often hear about what the students are watching on TV or movies, and I wish I could recommend Ted to them. But I live in a pretty conservative area and some of the raunchier stuff is not really suitable for children. That's one thing working against Ted is its unfriendliness to family viewing.
And the raunch isn't even the main source of comedy in that show.

they have better actors, better directors, much better in general- and get this, no commercials. you can pick which ones you want to watch anytime and when you're done, you can actually keep them or give them to friends. Look at the back of your glow box and you'll see many plugs that will open new world for you. the case for watching TV grows weaker by the year, folks. get your news off the net and your entertainment from disc media.

While I agree with the few opinions that say this show has died a little- I still want it to be good. I like Cox and Turk enough to give the Med School variation a chance. Janitor was/is my favorite on that show (Neil Flynn's NEW show - The Middle - is actually pretty funny.)Also I'm actally looking forward to what Zach Braff produces now that he doesn't have a TV schedule holding him down.
