The SCREAM 3 Poster

Published at:  Sep 11, 1999 5:24:27 AM CDT

Hey folks, here's the teaser poster for SCREAM 3 as found by AICN spy in training.... Freeride. Tis a pretty striking image methinks... All my hopes for this movie reside in Parker Posey, and the hopes and prayers that Sydney dies horribly and graphicly in this the final installment of the Scream Trilogy. Enjoy...

    KILLERS

    by robinp

Sidney the killer........naaaaaaaah too obvious, the way to go with Neve would be to have her killed unexpectedly a third of the way through the film a'la Marion Crane in "Psycho".
Dewey ? naaaaaaah, the guy's a cripple, he'd never get away in time.
Now, then Gail Weathers, trying to bolster her own ratings ???? There's an idea !!!!!!!
    Harry the killer ??????
Intriguing thought, especially given his fondness for cannibalism.........BUT.........there were no bite marks on any of the previous victims.

I can't believe that there will be a Scream 3. Talk about a franchise being over-used, oh well. Yeah Harry, I think I'd like to see Sidney get ripped to shreds too, only after her clothes were ripped to shreds!! It would be nice to see a little Neve Cambell skin, eh? Oh well, some day she'll give in and bear her birthday suit!! TrainSpotter---------->gone

    Show me the paycheck

    by powerslave

I read somewhere that Parker Posey is only doing this movie because she "has bills to pay." It's nice to see that the indie darlings can be just as money-hungry as the A-listers.

    Meanwhile........

    by robinp

.......over at www.scream-trilogy.com, they're claiming that the third installment will be more mature than the previous two, the (surviving) cast have matured, and that this is supposed to be more of a psychological horror movie, with heightened humour.

    Time will tell !

What you have to remember is that this is a Scream movie. Did you see the last one, that fucking lady wasn't even in the damn movie. Im betting that the killer will be "the quiet, 24 year old neighbor who likes to video tape little girls at the playground," or someone who was never in the movie. The only scary thing about these fucking movies is that people keep going to see them. If you really want the industry to change then stop shelling out dollar after dollar to see the WB lineup on the silver screen.

    Kevin Williamson

    by pipsorcle

I know that Kevin Williamson wasn't 100% responsible for the Scream 3 script, but I think the biggest problem I have with Williamson as a writer, is that almost all of his scripts are routine. The only thing that makes them unique, is the movie-references and the wit in characters talking like "they know it all". Scream series were a bit original, but geez, the teen horror francise is failing. Williamson's somewhat fresh take on horror movies was inventive at first, but it's just getting old. Really. If Scream & Scream 2 didn't have the Williamson wit, then wouldn't be all that successful (besides the appeal of David Arquette, Neve Campbell, and others). I honestly don't know why Williamson is so hot as a screenwriter these days. Most of his scripts are uninspired and unoriginal. Also, look at Williamson's failure as a director. Teaching Mrs. Tingle's portrayal of Tingle was probably the only good thing about the film, yet Tingle was always right. Williamson said there was this one teacher at high school who was always hard on him, but is that an excuse to get medieval on her ass? Tingle is smart, when the teens in the film are just lame. If Williamson is the great writer that he is in Hollywood, then he needs to really get into the feelings of teens and really do a lot more realism. It seems like Williamson inspires so much of his films by other films and less on real life or on his own.

finally. this is the last one. I have to admit I was excited when I heard that there would be 3 movies. Scream is a great movie but after that piece of shit from no.2. Let's just forget about the sequels and enjoy no.1 for the really clever and scary movie it is. R.I.P

    High expectations!

    by jack la motta

I am somewhat excited to see this movie. I loved the first one and the second was good also, but the ending to me, really sucked. Kevin Williamson, who has gone down hill since Scream, did not write the third installment I am happy to say. I have high expectations for this movie, hoping for something better then the 2nd, or even the 1st. But I doubt i will go see this in the theater. Too many other movies on my must see-list. American Beauty, Man on the Moon, Fight Club, Magnolia, but most of all the sweet and beautiful Natalie Portman with the incredibly sexy older Susan Surandon in "Anywhere But Here". So Scream 3 will probably be viewed at home, unless of course I hear great things about it. And I mean GREAT!

    Can't wait

    by blok narpin

This is without a doubt my third most antisipated film of '99 (Dogma, and Man on the Moon being the top two). I love the first two and can't wait to see how the trilogy ends. I figure it's going to connect back to the first film and tie the three together in some way seeing as it's the final part of a trilogy. I am a bit nervous since Williamson didn't write but at least Craven is at the helm. Can't wait! By the way, this poster has been on the internet since about April. I've been using it as wallpaper for my computer since then!

    Shaddup Screamin'

    by deejay

Powerslave... while the quote you cited has been attributed to Parker Posey, Cinescape.com revealed that the quote is only a portion of what Posey said. She followed up that comment by saying that she was just joking, and was happy to be a part of the production. You can probably see that this is a classic case of someone manipulating the words of another. As far as who the killer is... I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be President Clinton. Goodness knows that the man has already been falsely accused of every other major crime known to man (selling drugs, sexual assault, killing Vince Foster). Why not make him the serial killer of some fictional twenty-somethings?

    ending

    by lester diamond

I don't really want to see SCREAM 3, but I can tell you right now how it well end. There are two ways:

    1. They always have to up the ante. The killers are the cut-throat Gail, who is the obvious killer in this one; the person who is barely in the movie; and--gasp--Sydney! They all get killed in the end by Dewey, the only innocent one of the bunch.

    2. Sydney is and has always been the killer. The four killers from the first two movies took the fall while she got away with it. Finally, she gets caught in this, dies, and the whole trilogy is wrapped up--hopefully.

I'm telling you, people. It's going to be one of these. You'll see in December.

Harry, where's the BRINGING OUT THE DEAD news? It opens next month. Somebody has to have seen it.

    Breast Size in Horror Movies

    by capt. fantastic

Okay. Try to follow me on this. Who's the queen of horror? Jamie Lee Curtis. Magnificent bazooms. Never revealed until her transition to comedy (Mmmm...sweet Trading Places). Until revealed, horror movies are successful. Transition to Jennfier Love Hewitt. Great scott, man. Those things are amazing. Loads of money made on two formulaic teen slashers starring her and the twins. Again, never revealed. Neve's breasts. Not in the same league as the previous two, so they must be boosted by two other mediocre-to-good breasts attached to Courtney Cox. With the exception of flashes by Cox in that Commandments (and that sweeeet tease in Wild Things), the starring breasts of Scream all remain tantalizingly unrevealed. My point? Scream 3 will make lots of money on the OUTSIDE chance that a nipple might pop out given the expected R-rating. Will it happen? Nope. Will the movie be good? Possibly. Will I pay six bucks to watch it at the theater? Believe it. The breast postulate is real folks. Accept it as fact. Cap out...

    Who cares about Scream

    by dr. chicago

I never like the Scream movies and with this one being toned down because parents blame movies for their children's problems, I don't have any intention of seeing this one in the theater. Who cares about the killer, whoever it is they will ignore Dr. Chicago's big rule in movie killing "Never ever ever talk before killing the hero of a movie" like the last two killers did. With all the actors just showing up for the paycheck It looks like this will be the end of the series for right now. Cornora Coming Atractions site already has spoiled the movie for me, and it explains why Neve Campelle only worked for ten days on this film Enter at own risk.

If you mean the actual killer, Billy Loomis's mom... that was Laurie Metcalf. She played Reporter Debbie Salt. She was in several scenes of the movie.

everybody knows that Hollywood cant stop with a Trilogy!!!

    by mckracken

Everybody knows that Hollywood loves continuing a franchise, do you REALLY beleive that if this movie scores major box office points that there WONT be another sceam? BULLCRAP! they will find some director and some writer and will continue this series like they did with Halloween, Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street. Expect that if this third movie ends on a profitable note, there will be another....and another....and another....you watch!!! --McK

    The 6th Scream

    by epski

Is just me, or does these teaser (while admittedly kind of cool), have a bit of that Sixth Sense feel to it, what with the light radiating out of the number and all.

Here's hoping Scream 3 makes half of what The Sixth Sense did.

Another example of bottom line film production

    by emorr

Well, let's hope the studio execs don't hit their bottom line number for revenue for this series. The first one was good, the second horrible. How many movies can we have with hip pop culture references in them? It's just like the wave of Tarantino-like hip 70's music in movies (which he borrowed from Scorcese, by the way). I guess as long as you market towards teenagers, you'll make money.

    by prajadhipok

jeez, after a dose of good Horror films lately, i just cant help but wish for the slasher flick to die... or at least die down until they come up with something at least a halfbrain better than this franchise and its knock-off "I Know what you did..." but seriously folks, Scream 1 was refreshing to me back in 1996... but beating a dead horse isnt quite logical... WRITE A DAMN SCRIPT!!!

    Scream: The 3rd Dimension

    by groovyjt

It's the only way the kiddies will bother to see it... and they've already botched it. Every one knows that to be a classic horror franchise one of the installments has to include the 3D gimmick. (evil dead trilogy excluded, yet if Raimi had the budget I'm sure he would've) MAN, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A 3D HORROR FILM AGAIN! Who cares what the script is like then. As long as there's blood, body parts, and a vast array of weapondry thrown in my lap I'm satisfied. THEY BLEW IT! Just think of all the hoopla that would've surrounded this film if it was full-on 3D! They could've kept it fresh, while poking fun at their 3D environment. Magazine covers galore, ray-ban tie-ins... and some SERIOUS ass BUZZ! THERE'S STILL TIME TO DO IT RIGHT! LET'S BURN THE DAILIES!

    Scream Sucks

    by cd boy

The film scream has always been a stupid concept. There is nothing like making a film, about people who watch to many horror movies and go out and kill people. Jeez lets just give all these damn parent groups ammo to use against the horror movie industry, which is underfire again, thanks to a kid saying scream 2 made me do it. Scream sucked, the 2nd one sucked and the third one will suck. A true horror fan will look at this crap for what it is, crap. There are a lot of foriegn (I'm American) horror coming in, and those people who just got their drivers license and think Scream is a new idea can go back and watch some good classics like Reanimator or Evil Dead. God to think they made 3 of these, man lets put her in the Freddie vs Jason movie and we can have a nice big steaming bowl of crap, with Mike Myers stiring the offering.
