Figures in grey represent repeats.

* “Leno” matched its series low in 18-49 on Monday and came in sixth place at 10 p.m. behind ESPN's “Monday Night Football,” a repeat of CBS' “CSI Miami,” a repeat of ABC's “Castle,” USA’s “WWE Raw” and A&E’s “Hoarders.”

* Adrian Pasdar’s last episode of “Heroes” (also the last “Heroes” of 2009) failed to increase the series’ altitude.

* ABC’s “Find My Family” found a mammoth second-week decline despite a healthy lead-in from Shrek and The Grinch.

* Patriots/Saints gave ESPN’s MNF its best number in eight weeks.

    by supermans

But it has lost its feeling like it had in season 1. Peter is a dimwit.. I like the deaf girl. Hiro's storyline is good, and the circus freaks are interesting. My favorite character HRG is getting an interesting storyline this season as well. I hope to see more of him and that new girlfriend.

    Heroes, IMHO.

    by johnnyangel

I would say that Heroes is written by retards but that would be politically incorrect and an insult to mentally challenged people who could come up with better continuity and a clearer vision of where a show about a group of freaking super heroes could go that wouldn't meander aimlessly in its own lower bowels tasting the pointless shit of its own wasted potential. So I won't say that.

Heroes has been better the last few episodes

    by bramton1

The carnival people storyline is finally making sense. I have enjoyed the last few episodes. Although...Nathan's death was lame.Apparently everyone working on the show does not expect another season.Of course, there are still the occasion screwups. Like where Peter used his power to take the Haitian's power. But the Haitian should have neutralized Peter's power long before Peter could take anything away from him. Unless the Haitian can turn his power on and off?

The Haitian CAN turn his power on and off. Go back to season #1, Nathan was confronted by HRG and the Haitian outside of the hotel and Nathan just upped and flew off. HRG looked over at the Haitian, who gave him a "Oh well" look in return. Because of that, it's obviously a turn on/turn off sort of thing.

    As far as Heroes itself?

    by bueno_bob

This has been the best season since the first. The trimmed down cast and trimmed down budget has helped it recapture it's focus a lot and the stories are more character driven, like they were in the first season. Great performances by everybody in the cast (although it could probably still use some trimming in that department, there's a lot of characters going unused). I've had a great deal of fun watching it unfold this year. Regardless of how hard the articles at this website are slanted in an effort to make me dislike it, it's been absolute quality this season and it's still better and much more engaging/entertaining than a lot of other shit on the television today. I suppose the haters can come into all Heroes threads in a mad dash effort to convince me otherwise, but it's still a good program and the budget cuts have definitely helped them regain their focus. Realistically, there's not much wrong with the show right now that a new timeslot on a different night wouldn't fix. Do that, cut away some of the hanger-on characters who don't have much to do anymore, or maybe even a clean slate with all new characters at the end of this season, who knows? I certainly would like to see Heroes continue past this season and hope it does.

Nope. He "died" at the end of season #1/beginning of season #2 when Peter exploded. Was shot by Peter at the end of season #2, and the 'real' Nathan was killed by Sylar at the end of season #3. Of course, it's been made perfectly clear by NBC that Adrian Pasdar is off of the show, so this death is permanent. I'm honestly confused by how many people seem to be missing that. It doesn't seem particularly difficult to grasp.

So, was Nathan the "major death" we've been expecting?

    by big jim

Was this the "death" that Kristin at E referred to as "huge" and a "shocker", something she felt was part of NBC's attempt to "pull out a big watercooler-worthy surprise"? What show is she watching? I'm guessing not Heroes as NATHAN DIED AT THE END OF LAST SEASON! How can what we saw last week be anything other than the inevitable conclusion to the whole "Nathan's psyche in Sylar's shape-shifting body" story-line? Plus, as V'Shael said, even though Pasdar has been let go, "there was nothing in the episode which precluded him from coming back". Nathan did not die last week. He died last season. Whatever was still left of him still exists in Sylar. So he's as much dead as he was at the beginning of the season, we just won't see him anymore (say, isn't that what usually happens when people die?).Honestly, I don't know this Kristin from E but I get the feeling she is little more than a cog in the NBC hype machine. There is nothing big or shocking from the delayed departure of a character who was killed off over 6 months ago. NBC fed her this tidbit and she ran with it, teasing it like it was something other than the obvious outcome of a poorly conceived plot device. This was the most over-hyped Television non-event since Geraldo opened Al Capone's vault.

Big Jim - Maybe you're right...

    by wtriker1701

...maybe you're wrong. The "Death" of Nathan P. is clearly a non-event, as it happened as you said. AND - why were we seeing Nathan's dead body in a coffin like a shrine in a coller...? His death within Sylar's Body means nothing. he can easily be reassembled / recalled. PLUS the possibility of Peter's (or someone else's) healing abilities MAY revive "the body in the coffin". (Hey, that's a probable new Bones' episode title!) But that episode of HEROES was nothing but spectacular emotional story telling. And it was developed by Tim Kring's own writing hands. THAT is clearly an event! As probably no one ever expected HIM to pin a good episode after so much clear misses. I found that last episode to be some high point I've been missing for almost 2 seasons. A Brian Fuller worthy hour of television!

"His death within Sylar's Body means nothing..."

    by dreamwriter

They were trying to get across that he *couldn't* be reassembled/recalled, by his talk of being tired of having to fight Sylar's conciousness off to keep his own around. The theory that by giving up the fight, his mind would be permanently replaced by Sylar's. If they decide in the future to bring him back again within the story, they'll have to use some other method, probably something to do with his body.

Dreamwriter, most of what existed of Nathan within Sylar

    by big jim

all season is still there. When Matt put Nathan's mind in Sylar's body that came with the belief that he actually was Nathan. Once he realized he wasn't, that all he was was a mental copy of his former self, that he wasn't real, the Nathan persona lost the ability to control the host. However, all his memories are still there waiting for someone to come retrieve them. I'm sure if Heroes goes on for another few season they will bring Pasdar back by having Matt take Nathan's memories out of Sylar and back into his magically restored, returned from the dead, corpse (Zombie Nathan?).Ultimately it does mean nothing, as NATHAN DIED LAST SEASON! Sure, it was a chance to have a touching moment between Peter & Nathan to say goodbye to one another but the moment is overshadowed by the fact that the character has been dead for six months. As an audience, we've seen the character blown up, shot, and all but decapitated yet death never really sticks with him. I guess the writers thought having the guy who can fly finally dying by falling off a roof was really cool irony. To me it was just the drawn out resolution of something that happened in last year's finale.

finale did hit soaring heights .. both dramatically and in the ratings .. the show is riveting, this has been the perfect second season and looking at the ratings of the last episode, it seems word of mouth is finally kicking in. I don't understand the headline that implies otherwise.
