A New Trailer For Van Damme's THE EAGLE PATH Is Now Online!!

Published at:  Nov 25, 2009 11:58:10 AM CST

Merrick here...

There's a new trailer online for THE EAGLE PATH, a film written, directed, and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. I'm so glad to see JEan-Claude working his way back into the spotlight; his appearance in JCVD demonstrates the man truly has chops - in no uncertain terms. This new project was announced under the title FULL LOVE a while back.

Here's THE EAGLE PATH (aka FULL LOVE)'s extended trailer:

If you haven't seen Van Damme in JCVD, I can't recommend it highly enough. Even if you're not a Van Damme fan, the film works surprisingly well and he is genuinely awesome in it. NOT just "action hero" awesome - awesome in a dramatic/performance sense. It's available for rent via Netflix (HERE), or can be found on standard DVD & Blu-Ray HERE.

Thanks to Rob over at the JCVD FreeForums (HERE) for calling our attention to the trailer.

I think the 'older' action stars are more believable now in going rogue, if you will, than when they were younger.Amen on up-skirt ass shots.

Does he to his usual JCVD ROUTINE?

    by meadowe

You know, kick a lot of people's ass, then a bad guy kicks his ass, and while he's unconscious on the ground he starts dreaming/having flashbacks about his life, mentor, true love, etc, gets the motivation to kip up and scream at the bad guy, and instead of the bad guy being scared that a guy who's ass has been thoroughly kicked just got up and is screaming at me like they're in an emmerich fliq, he tries to kick jcvd's ass but gets his ass kicked instead? Because I LOVE IT WHEN HE DOES THAT XD

I'm glad to see JVCD as a triple threat.

    by the reluctant austinite

I like this trend of 80s action stars stepping up to write, direct and star in their own films. Jackie Chan used to do that, and that's when he often did his best work, when he had his hands on every part of the production. I just watched the Dolph Lungren written and directed "Command Performance" last night, and while I was a little let down with the final product after the insanely wonderful premise and set-up (turns out Doplph is an AWESOME rock n roll drummer), I did admire the triple effort put in by the star. As direct-to-DVD entertainment, it's a cut above the average. I hope JCVD's film also entertains on this level.

can JCVD only kick with his right leg?

Thinking about it, I don't think I've ever seen him use the left one! I'm serious!

    I think Van Dammage

    by inkingeekx

gets a bad rep. Let's face it, nobody watched his movies for the oscar caliber performances, we watched them because it was fun to just watch pure ass kickery, and a lot of them had great underlying stories, it's just that the story wasn't the most important part of these films. I know that's almost blasphemy in this era of "story first" which i do indeed love, but that's not why america watched van dammage kick the 90's ass...

    by gavinvandraven

in fact, i would say JCVD uses a right kick about 80% of the time. most kickboxers, MMA fighters use the rear leg when they kick, (the power strikes usually come from the rear leg/hand) more front kicks or sidekicks come from the lead leg, as well as the jab with the hands.

    I agree

    by nicegoogly

That was the whole flick in two mintues.

Is he supposed to be retarded in this? Seems a little Simple Jack and going full retard.

You gotta love a tactical assault with a guy in a wheel chair and a shotgun. Shouldn't that dude be your sniper? He would get less shot the fuck up that way.

Have you seen a video interview with Don

    by ominus

'The Dragon' Wilson some years ago?
where he talks about Van Damme, and he reveals that:
1.Van Damme is not a real martial artist.that he doesnt even have a black belt.
2.he knows only about fletching, and thats why he usually uses kicks and nothing else.and that in his movie, the stuntmen get a big insurance, because they usually get injured in the stunts with Van Damme since he is not trained for fighting choreographs.
There was a rumor for years, that Van Damme wanted to get in an official real fight with Wilson.but wilson was always refusing supposedly because he was afraid of Van Damme.
But Wilson in his interview said that he never got an official invitation from Van Damme to participate in such event, and when Wilson did send to Van Damme such an invitation in order to stop the rumors,Van Damme never answered to him.
now i dont know if the above are true or not,but Wilson seemed to me very sincere in his interview.and he looks like a nice fellow too.anyway.

    by mrmajestic

Look I respect Wilson as a martial artist but as an actor... If you think Van Damme was wooden back in the day, Wilson had the acting skills of a concrete divider. And if you guys try to impugn my American martial art movie geekness credits I'll just tell you that Ring of Fire 2 rocked.
