Figures in grey represent repeats. * “Heroes” on Monday hit another all-time series low. * “Leno” pulled ahead of the CW shows and scored its first-ever Monday uptick with an interview with teen “Full Moon” heartthrob Taylor Lautner. * The nerds of “Big Bang Theory” beat for the first time this season ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” which hit a season low with a Baltimore-Cleveland match. * “Bang” tied “House” in 18-49 but beat it in overall viewers to stand as the night’s top show. * “Dancing With The Stars” was way up. Fox’s “House” and “Lie To Me” slipped against it. * AMC’s “The Prisoner” matched “Mad Men’s” finale on Sunday with an 0.8 then plummeted to a 0.3 on Monday (where it stayed on Tuesday). Sunday 18-49 Finals (prior weeks in parentheses):
9.7 (---)(10.9)(10.7)(---) (---) (---) (---) Fox Football Overrun 8.6 (8.5) (---) (5.9) (7.2) (6.2) (7.4) (6.8) NBC Sunday Night Football 5.0 (4.4) (5.0) (4.7) (4.6) (4.6) (5.0) (4.7) Desperate Housewives 4.3 (---) (---) (---) (4.1) (3.7) (4.4) (4.3) The Simpsons 4.2 (4.1) (---) (---) (4.2) (4.5) (5.1) (5.2) Family Guy 3.7 (3.0) (3.3) (3.0) (3.0) (3.0) (3.4) (3.1) Extreme Makeover: HE 3.4 (3.5) (3.3) (3.4) (3.3) (3.3) (2.8) (3.4) The Amazing Race 3.4 (3.2) (---) (---) (3.8) (3.9) (4.4) (4.9) The Cleveland Show 3.2 (2.9) (3.3) (3.3) (3.2) (3.0) (3.2) (3.0) Brothers & Sisters 3.0 (2.0) (---) (---) (3.1) (3.5) (3.6) (3.6) American Dad 2.3 (2.0) (2.0) (2.3) (1.9) (2.2) (2.2) (---) AFH Videos 2.2 (3.8) (2.2) (2.1) (3.2) (3.5) (2.2) (3.2) 60 Minutes 2.1 (1.7) (1.7) (1.8) (---) (1.9) (2.2) (2.1) Cold Case 1.8 (1.8) (1.6) (1.7) (1.9) (1.7) (1.9) (---) Three Rivers 1.1 (0.9) (---) (1.0) (---) (---) (---) (---) The Next Iron Chef 0.8 (0.9) (0.9) (0.8) (0.7) (0.5) (0.6) (---) Dexter 0.8 (---) (---) (---) (---) (---) (---) (---) The Prisoner 0.7 (---) (---) (---) (---) (---) (---) (---) WWII in HD 0.5 (0.3) (0.4) (0.4) (0.5) (0.5) (0.7) (0.6) Curb Your Enthusiasm 0.5 (1.0) (0.5) (0.7) (0.8) (1.2) (---) (---) Girls Next Door 0.4 (0.4) (0.4) (0.4) (0.3) (0.3) (0.4) (---) Californication
Figures in grey represent repeats. * Following a three-week absence, “The Simpsons” returned strong, beating all the Seth MacFarlane shows in 18-49 for the first time this season. * “60 Minutes,” with no football overrun boost, plummeted. * “Three Rivers” was again Sunday’s lowest-rated network series. CBS announced Monday “Rivers” is moving to 10 p.m., swapping places with the typically stronger (if also horribly rated) “Cold Case.” * “Dexter” slipped from its series high. Fans may have switched over to the penultimate Michael Richards episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which made a big climb this week (viewers may not have been willing to wait to watch the “Seinfeld”-heavy episode on On Demand.)

I am overseas now, and I was on the West Coast earlier. When did Monday Night Football move to ESPN. They used to have Sunday Night Football. When did ABC lose the franchise?

Heroes is so good right now, this is why I HATE "ratings"
by daredrummer
This is the best Heroes has been since S1. Yet because only 2.3 MILLION PEOPLE watch it it's somehow deemed inferior. Fuck that. Corporate ratings whores determine the future of things I love and I despise it. Do these ratings even include TIVO/DVR recordings? How about online site viewings, which is how I watch the show? Fuck ratings, fuck nielsen, and fuck people that would rather watch moronic football. This season rocks, and has introduced one of the series greatest characters, Samuel Sullivan. I hate you all.
-
... Heroes has been steadily redeeming itself.
... and CURB has hilarious this week (as in literally LOL hilarious) -
What do you expect when they move it to 8, against the two biggest shows on network television? It never stood a chance. And it is an excellent season, the only (and last) show I'm watching on NBC.
-
Even with the bad ratings, its still number 2 in NBC's scripted drama. There was a good article somewhere saying Fringe was in more danger then Heroes of getting canned. Fringe costs as much and brings in less then great ratings for a Thursday night considering American Idol is usually in that spot. I think the Comcast deal will kill Heroes, but its going to take a year to get that deal through the Feds, so it might come back next year. If they end it well this season, I might be ok with it being gone, but it will be another show that I watch that gets canned. It might be a thin year for me, next year.
-
I am actually surprised it hasn't been cancelled yet.
-
so many fanboys swoon over it because they make the ocasional reference to a cult film, well i hate to break it to you but you're the only one laughing. The show is the same 2 camera laugh track drivel we've seen since the 80's. anyone who activley watches that show should be ashamed of themselves
-
Right. That's why it's the highest rated comedy amongst the key demographics.
Any other pearls of wisdom you want to share with us? Perhaps you could tell us the colour of the sky in your world? -
...when they get into Volume 6. They should move it now, but I would be shocked if they're still running it up against House when they do Volume 6.
-
You're finally getting some positive fan feedback on HEROES after two shitty seasons and you leave it to be bitchslapped by HOUSE on a weekly basis? A gnat with a lobotomy could figure out that it might be a good idea to try moving the show to a different slot.
-
I have not watched since the move to ESPN. I still do not understand the move, especially sinck NBC now KILLS with the Sunday night game that ESPN hated. Cable sports channels suck.
-
Instead of down. Although, is it really a stunt if Smallville is just finally realizing that it is SUPERMAN instead of distancing itself from its origins? Why dis Smallville try so hard to hate itself for so long????
-
I don't think anyone could say it was predictable because the main character had amnesia. The series as a whole was okay, although giving a definite answer to what was going on may have been a bit much. (And left a lot of holes anyway. How was Six brought into "the Village"?) Pity, though, Monday's Anvil was pretty strong with its elementary-school surveillance/"spy on your parents" classes. Darling, not so much. And it really went off the rails with loopy hallucinogenic stuff on Tuesday.
-
Simpsons should do more shows about sexual frustration, nudity and potential infidelity.
-
***Spoiler***They tried a stunt, the leaked story of a "majjor death", resulting in a tease every episode that someone is either in mortal danger or has been killed. Matt shot last week, Claire frozen this week, along with Mohinder supposedly dead on the floor; a few weeks ago Hiro going back to stop Sylar.
-
The whole work for your plug thing is always painful and that car race is 10 minutes of dead air every night.
-
Mohinder & Parkman.
That was totally garbage.
Parkman tried to nobly sacrifice himself to stop Sylar & they use the magic reset the very next week.
Same with Mohinder, fucking Hiro ruins it all YET AGAIN.
Just when I was starting to love the show again, they keep the shittest characters (and actors, in my opinion) in it.
-
And NBC did a 180 and renewed Trauma for the season. We are so clearly in the endgame now that hopefully a series finale will be crafted to bring closure to the loyalists who have hung in there this long.
-
Herc and others always whine about Fox and the Friday Night Death Slot. But what NBC is doing might actually be worse, putting a show on a promising night, but up against BIG, POPULAR SHOWS. Move Heroes back to 9, damnit. And while you're at it, restore Law & Order to its home on Wednesdays.
Leno is not fucking worth it. -
Ok, in the 1990's Disney bought ABC and ESPN. The ratings for MNF were going down because the NFL schedule locked in the match-ups for weeks 8-16 with teams that made the playoffs the previous year. Unfortunatly injuries would mount up on the teams scheduled for Nov and Dec, meaning they frankly sucked. An example would be MNF was getting a 2-9 NY Giants vs. 4-5 Kansas City. But FOX was getting the playoff bound Patriots-Eagles in the middle of Nov. Sweeps.NBC wanted football back, and Disney no longer wanted MNF on ABC since they had gone to being the "chick channel" with the brand new hit Desperate Housewives. Disney was going to move MNF to ESPN. The NFL hated that idea. So NBC told the NFL they would take Sunday night, pay more than Disney was paying for Monday Night games from 1996-2005, BUT.... they wanted, after week 10, "first dibs" on ANY Sunday game. That way if NBC had Dallas-Phili, and Phili is terrible, they could trade FOX for Atlanta (with a pre-convicted Michael Vick) vs Green Bay (with at that time Brett Favre.) And the following week they may have scheduled Cinci and KC, but they could trade CBS for playoff bound New England vs Indy. The NFL accepted and this new set-up started in 2006. This new deal also allows for NBC to get the games that will decide who gets in the playoffs, something that was 70% responsible for killing the ratings on MNF in the late 1990's through 2005. Not even Madden and Al Michaels could save some of those turkeys they were stuck with in late December.-----later-----m

always felt it would make a better tv show than movie, because of all the characters and episodic feel. Heroes was always just a shitty ripoff.
-
Really? Two weeks ago it is cancelled, and now it's not?
-
Its to bridge Heroes going to 9 pm with Chuck coming back at 8 pm. I also don't see Trauma coming back since Heroes was doing a half point better in the ratings on a worse time slot.
-
Still an OK season but it seems to have dragged since Deb's shooting. That's a more likely explanation for the downturn in ratings.

I think "Nova" or C-Span or Andy Griffith reruns on TV Land...

...would've beaten Monday Night Football's ratings on that night. I mean... Baltimore vs. Cleveland? Please. Get that outta here.

ratings suck because this season of heroes has gotten so much be
by nymetsfan2191
i just got into heroes over the summer. my friend who's been watching it since it came on, lent me his dvds of the show and i watched all 3 seasons. now i could say i'm a fan of this show. the start of this season suck to decent so i could understand why the ratings were so low. But since the episode when hiro went back in time to stop sylar from killing charlie, this season has gotten so much better. Now they even decide to kill of nathan which is suprising they kill him of this early in the season
