ScoreKeeper Reveals Info On AVATAR Score Release!

Published at:  Nov 16, 2009 10:02:47 PM CST

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here with some information regarding the score release of a little independent film that you may not have heard of called AVATAR (2009). You see, this guy named James Horner did the music. He did something else once but I can't quite recall what it was.

Anyway, his music for AVATAR will be released soon and ComingSoon.net posted all the gory details:

Atlantic Records has announced the upcoming release of "Avatar: Music From the Motion Picture," the official score album companion to James Cameron's upcoming epic adventure Avatar. The album -- which features music composed and conducted by Academy Award-winner James Horner (Titanic) -- will be released digitally and physically December 15th (internationally available December 14th) with pre-orders beginning at AtlanticRecords.com on November 16th.

To read the entire article click HERE.

Isn't that nice? There's a whole web site devoted to this new release. Not bad for a small film, huh? To visit, click HERE.

Your more obsessed with Avatar then any fanboy. Exactly the type of fool Jim Cameron is sitting back and laughing at. And by the way...you can keep shouting your opinion and saying the same things over and over...it aint gonna make em come true.

As for the score...has anyone heard his Into the Navi World theme? Absolutely epic...I wouldn't be surprised if Horner brought home another Oscar for his work with Cameron. Without a doubt he will be nominated...I'd be willing to wager that.

Slowly but surely the Avatar marketing machine is taking over the world. It's got it's name attached to Coke Zero, Mattel, LG, Panasonic, Casio, Ubisoft, McDonalds. In other words, only the biggest companies in the world. A lot of clips have been released and reaction around the web has been extremely positive. I imagine they'll be putting the trailer in front of New Moon as well. I wouldn't worry about people knowing about Avatar...everyone will know by December 18th. Even if the movies only decent (highly unlikely), it's still guaranteed to bring in some serious dollars. The innovative FX and 3D alone will warrant multiple viewings...if it's a good movie then they will be guaranteed. A record amount of 3D screen have been put in for Avatar, and it's also gonna dominate the IMAX market for quite some time.

What, do you have some personal vendetta against someone who worked on the film? Or hate big budget sci-fi fantasy films? Maybe remakes, reboots or sequels are more your cup of tea? If so, why are you posting on an Avatar talkback? Why not go flood the any other number of blockbuster talkbacks with your trolling? Why Avatar? I dunno, what is it?

I learnt from District 9 (brilliant) and Inglorious Basterds (dogshit) you can't tell how all the parts work together until you take the plunge. Some of the CGI in the trailers for Avatar look a bit dodgy, and the designs have not be thrilling..but that's based on the trailers..NOBODY knows if its good or not..this guy for all his failings has been more right than wrong making films, so im gonna give it a go. I love how absolutely fucking DESPERATE Nerd Cunt, Tranny Cum Gulper, Faraci, and all the rest of the Avatar-hatin' shit-kickers are getting. Their mewling voices are being drowned out by the 2,000,000 decibel roar of James Cameron shooting his best shot. Avatar is going to be a monster at the box office. There's already talk from people who have seen a good portion of the movie (and in 2D no less) that it's best picture material. Everyone - action junkies, sci-fi fans, kids, women, trolls - is going to see this thing and help make it one of the most gargantuan hits of all time.

on Yahoo. Lots of new footage. This movie just keeps looking better and better, and more and more epic. The marketing material hasn't even scratched the surface of this behemonth as of yet. Unlike lesse filmmakers, Cameron's movies are so full of win that he can afford to keep the best stuff for the film itself, instead of spilling all the money shots in trailers and promos in a desparate attempt to get people into theaters.

-I mean it does have to make 500 million to make a profit and it went ridiculously overbudget...but he's James Cameron, he does what the fuck he wants. He did say that he'll make his money back from actually SELLING the technology he invented for the film. That's not to say the movie won't be a success, he's just prepared for it not to be the blockbuster it needs to be. But yeah...people are talking, I get asked all the damn time, "When is that Avatar movie coming out?" People want to see it. I actually can't wait to see how it all plays out.

it's not the people who think it doesn't look good, that's all part of the discussion and subjective... it's the hate that is consistently spewed forth on these talk backs that I think alot of us are getting tired of.
And on a side note -- why mention Transformers as some kind of CGI benchmark? The transformer films are a blurry mess of CGI vomit - basically due to Michael Bay's awful direction. If you want to have a laugh, watch the commentary on the dvd, Michael Bay and his crew sound like a bunch of goons. Amongst many insightful points was how they literary patched up any plot holes (there were many..) with CGI robots delivering exposition "We need to get from point A to point B to deliver X and save the planet!" Point A and B being cool places Michael Bay wanted the robots to fight in... that he had already shot... with no story.

some people on this only claim to like films. when they dont really. its like some of actually want the studio system to cease exitense. if that happened there would be no films like avatar made. i would like hollywood to go down a more independent route. stop making blockbusters for a while. but there are people who like blockbusters. if hollywood stoped catering them. they would be the first on here to complain. oh and on an unrelated matter. where's harry's wife? and why does he not mention her? on this site?

For anyone who doesnt understand why Leona Lewis is performing a song over the end credits it's called "covering your investment". When you've spent north of $450 million on a project you damn well better consider every revenue stream to make back that investment. Leona Lewis actually has a great voice, especially when she isn't singing Simon Cowell fodder. But I guess it's easier to go online and go "Wahhhhhhh! There's a song in the film!!!!! Wahhhhh!! It's for girls!!!!!"

    by llghtst0rmer

A Celine Dion-type singer? What type is that? The type with a vagina? They're both females and both have had hits on the pop charts... that "type" would also include Pink, Madonna, Diana Ross, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Cyndi Lauper, Melissa Etheridge, Fiona Apple, Joss Stone, and Lady Gaga. To name a few.

    by asimovlives

Horner did much, much better with Glory, Star Trek II and III and, of course, Aliens. If i had to name my fave horner score, it either a toss up between aliens and Glory. and after that, the guy rested and no longer bothered to actually work to create new stuff. And already by the time of Braveheart he was coasting. There's nothing in the Braveheart score which i hadn't heard beforem from Horner in one way or another in any of his previous scores.

in every single Avatar thread i have commented clearly and repeatedly that i do not like the 'blue noble savage' designs and some of the long shots (horses etc) look dodgy. Others agreed. I also constantly stated Cameron knows how to direct drama and create tension, and that the 3D and Imax experience will probably overcome any cartoony aspects to the look of the film. Every single post I've made said precisely that. If that makes me a HATER and now a hypocrite in that context, because i decided to go actually SEE what its actually LIKE, unlike one of the lip dribbling wankers...Asshole Mushead or Omniass..then both the defintion of either hyprocrite or HATER is a distorted simplistic concept in these fragile withering minds.

I admit, An American Tail had a good score, and this is coming from somebody who doesn't like musicals much. As i said before, James Horner USED to be one of my favorites. To say i don't share the same enthusiasm i once had for him would be quite the understatement.

This is all a bit too over-the-top. Clearly an attempt to lure in a female audience because the tracking numbers on this picture, for females, must be lousy.

My cousin who works for NASA says that avatars DO exist and are being used by aliens from another planet to infiltrate earth. And that in fact many humans on earth are alien avatars spying on us. They tend to text message a lot, and use the word irregardless. I figured I should tell you because I know you would want to know.
