Next Week:

Episode #70 (season finale)
A returned favor costs Larry quality time with Cheryl.

When Larry asked Loretta if Leon was "in Katrina, too" didn't she say no and that he was in Los Angeles at the time? I'm not sure since I didn't watch much of the Black family season, but I remember that episode.

Cramming the "reunion" into final two?

    by malicehighload

Agreed with Riley. I thought the season would be more focused on all the issues in trying to get the reunion show together. The season Larry did "The Producers" seemed more crafted around the production of that show. The Seinfeld reunion has barely been in the background most of this season, with a few exceptions. I figured there wouldn't be too much of the Seinfeld stuff but I'm surprised at how little it's been featured, even as a plot device.

besides the black swan episode, which also had its moments, its probably been my third favourite season overall, after the 6th and 4th. I did think the reunion would be a bigger part of the season, but have not been disappointed.

This Season Is A Missed Opportunity

    by crow3711

At least, so far, IMO. Not a bad season, but easily the worst of the 7 curb seasons. The tummy-shirt episode was one of the worst episodes of tv I've ever seen, I couldn't believe that came from LD. For being as excited as I was for this season, its been a massive letdown for me personally. Nothing this season has been as funny as anything in any other season. It seems so unfocused and forced. The situations aren't natural, LD and Jeff are just enormous assholes this season instead of well-meaning morons, and its just darker and less funny. That's my rant. Disagree or agree?

The finale is an hour long

    by mraig

So there's actually an hour and a half of show left. I too was expecting the actual production of the reunion to play a more significant role over the course of the season, but it sounds like these last two episodes are going to feature it very heavily.

I've loved seeing Jerry and Larry together--those two have amazing chemistry, and Jerry is probably the only character in the history of the show to totally understand, see through, and sympathize with Larry. When the receptionist is talking about the crying Jesus painting, and Jerry keeps silent until she leaves and then turns to Larry and goes, "You splashed him, didn't you?" you can see that he's right on the same page with Larry: he understands how that's something that could happen, and he's slightly amused by the whole thing. Even Jeff, while generally being on Larry's side, doesn't really GET him like Jerry does. I know he'd never do it, but I would love to see Jerry become a regular cast member on CYE. (Of course, that would essentially just be recreating the premise of Seinfeld as they originally conceived it).

Both episodes are blocked at an hour, but the actual running times are 35 and 41 minutes, respectively.

Also, I gotta disagree with Crow. I think season seven has been stronger than both five and six, funnier than one, almost on par with four, but nowhere near the quality of two or three.

From all the promotions it seemed like Seinfeld et al would feature prominently in this season. There have been some funny episodes but I want to see the Seinfeld cast more! I also thought it would be like the 'Producers' season where the reunion show would figure prominently in all the episodes. I thought this would be LD's crowning achievement coming full circle back to Seinfeld and leaving on a great high as the final season. As such, it can only be disappointing unless it comes in strong the last few hours. As for another season, it is all up to LD. He seems to go on a season to season basis and whether is goes on or not is completely up to him.

    Pussy vs Cunt.

    by v'shael

I think they only reason they put Dave's joke in there, where the punchline used the word cunt, was to deliberately play it off against how people reacted to the word pussy, in the little girls storyline.

As a proud user of the word cunt, on occasion, I think it's a brilliant indication that context is everything when it comes to swear words. And that while the public seems to think pussy is a tamer word, in the right context, it's WAY WAY more disturbing than the word cunt.

I really doubt Larry just wrote snippets of the script. Especially with everyone laughing so much at the table read, it seemed as if this was just an edited version of them going through the whole thing. Considering we'll probably be seeing more of the rehearsal/broadcast in the finale, I absolutely would not be surprised if they did in fact film the whole thing, and it'd be a waste to not include that on the DVD. It'd bolster sales about 200 percent.

My favorite on TV and this ep is an all-timer! Gotta recharge the Mitzvah! I wish I had thought of that after I had mine!

    Leon was from LA

    by manhoganistic

The family was from New Orleans or wherever the fictional hurricane was. They came in and the next day, Leon showed up and just moved in.

By the way, if that 9 y.o. girl has a rash on her pussy...

    by chakraborty

....there's a good chance that she's being diddled by a pedophile, though I doubt that will be part of the storyline. Just sayin'. And the way she's aggressively texting Larry, she obviously has a thing for older dudes.

    @Chakraborty : Not true.

"Nine-year-old Girl with a Pubic Rash Gone Incognito" can be found in the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Volume 19, Issue 4, Pages 307-312

I know most people don't believe anything they read on the internet, but there's some who believe EVERYTHING they read on the internet. I'd hate for any kid who had an actual medical complaint, to be suddenly told she must identify her non-existant abuser.

I didn't say it was absolute...

    by chakraborty

...but there's a chance. She could just have an allergy to the washing detergent her mother used for her panties, or you could be very unsanitary, or it could just be some unexplained rash like an unexplained rash on any other part of the body. However, it should be taken into consideration - girl with a pussy rash who likes to text middle aged men....the question should be asked.

    That should read...

    by chakraborty

...."she" could be very unsanitary, not you.

    Leon "surviving" Katrina (or whatever)

    by mraig

Remember the guy a few seasons back (I think maybe it was a rabbi) who had a son who died on September 11th?

He was killed on 9/11 by a bike messenger

    by joed

    Uptown. Very sad.

Also, Colby from Survivor berating the Holocaust survivor about which one of them had it tougher. Classic.
