Figures in grey represent repeats.

* Somebody is going to have to give lanky teen songstress Taylor Swift her own show. Her appearance on SNL Saturday brought it its highest ratings of the season, and the Swift-centric CMA Awards gave ABC its “biggest non-sports Wednesday audience in four years,” according the Hollywood Reporter.

* “CSI NY” shot up a whopping 36% this week, no doubt because of the big three-way “CSI” crossover this week.

* At 10 p.m. “Leno” fell into fifth place in 18-49 behind ABC’s CMAs, CBS’s “CSI NY,” Comedy Central’s “South Park” and Bravo’s “Top Chef.” “Leno” was also the only Big Four show Wednesday garnering a lower rating than The CW’s “America’s Next Top Model.”

* At 9 p.m. “Glee” tied traditional Wednesday king “Criminal Minds” in 18-34 for the first time.

* “Gary Unmarried” hit a new season high.

* “So You Think You Can Dance” hit a season low.

* It's kinda ridiculous how little "Secret Girlfriend" retains of "South Park's" audience.

    Secret Girlfriend

    by solvseus

So much potential, and the girl is cute (not the crazy psycho, who plays it a little too perfectly BTW, the blonde), but let's face it, the show kinda sux. Not surprised no one is watching. I predict cancellation. But then, I think Jeff Dunham is funny about 50% of the time, so what do I know.

    by useridgoeshere

Since Tyler Perry's House of Payne and Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns are now pretty much matching Leno.

Top Chef and South Park right now, so they're okay. I mean South Park for me and Top Chef for the wife, of course. Yeah. I mean she makes me watch it. Ummmm...I watch Top Chef. I...like Top Chef. How the hell does something like that happen?

    by chewtoy

They did a great job casting the Girlfriend of the title... She's got a lot of charisma. The rest of the show is like a bad Man Show sketch, and the whole first person narrative gives the show no room to evolve. An interesting experiment I suppose, but that's it.

And then I forced myself to watch Parks afterwards, and it was god awful and had to stop at the 8:52 mark. A ten minute bit where they each present paintings??? It was soooo dull and unfunny.

    by rainbowtrout1265

And it was about some fag whining about not being allowed to sing a song. If I was that guy's father, I'd slap him upside the head for that lisp/limp-wristed behavior. It has to be the most PC show in the history of television. The gay guy, the guy in the wheelchair, there was a down syndrome girl who wanted to be a cheerleader. There was a cute dark haired girl who seemed like she had some talent, though.

How much longer will Leno last?

    by lock67ca

I would really like to know what you all think? I know he's got the two year contract. I know NBC may not have anything to replace it with, but these ratings can't be ignored. Even re-tooling the show hasn't helped. So, what's going to happen? Speculate.

    by coughlins laws

Is this really your goal in life? What will you do when/if Leno is no longer on TV? I hear Stern still hates Kathy Lee Gifford. Maybe you can start a column inexplicably railing against The Today Show's 4th hour until it's driven off the air?

This was an unusually dramatic episode of Glee.

    by flickchick85

It was a lovely episode for invested viewers, but not a good example of the type of comedy the show usually is. Glad the show's still doing well in the ratings, they really deserve it.

    Secret Girlfriend...

    by general_soreness

is done I would guess. I think they said the last episode was the season finale so that'll probably be it. The cast is actually pretty funny overall but the whole premise/camera style is just weird and uncomfortable. There's a reason characters on TV shows don't normally talk directly into the "screen" unless they're doing a fake documentary, interview thing. It makes everything feel off. Though to be fair, there was always at least one exchange between the two guys per show that was golden.

I saw her at a concert once when she was here in SF taping her ill-fated Oprah/Donahue-esque talk show. She is fine as fuck on this side of the 4th wall as well.

    They did thank Kanye

    by mgthedj

Little Jimmy Dickens , and 88 yr old novelty act from the 1940's and 50's, came on stage to interrupt Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley and repeated verbatum Kanye's rant. This time saying Swift's video was the best. Later on, she thanked people at the CMA's for not running up on stage to interrupt her speech.-----later-----m

The opening sequence of South Park this week

    by johnnyangel

was so brilliant I couldn't believe it. Just total South Park skewering of American violence and insanity. The kids reactions were so amazing. The shock and horror on some and expressionless tuned out looks from the kids who weren't even paying attention. Brilliant. And then they went on to the whole Glen Beck satire which I didn't get at all since I never watch Fox. But just the first five minutes of that show was incredible!

    Ratings R fun

    by jt kirk

Old Christine? Your shit has gotten too repetitive and your audience has left you. Looks like New Christine was the magical center of your show despite nobody noticing till she was gone. The Rape Show bringing more heat in the ratings, go SVU!Jay Leno barely keeping his chin above water while tying garbage like Ghost Hunters, House of Payne, The Ultimate Fighter is funny. Maybe that's the comedy gold Leno was trying to deliver all along.Secret Girlfriend is cheap and tacky and rarely funny. Plus, can't watch it in mixed company since it's all boner-intended material. Then again, Comedy Central hasn't developed quality shows for a long time now.How is Taylor Swift's music "country"? It sounds like pure pop but aimed at white "heartland" kids, is that all it takes to be Country music now?
