Here's hoping for my first first. Also, here's hoping Caprica is better than I think it will be ... I miss my BSG and this year's crop of scifi doesn't cut it.
-
Oh well, no first for me. Maybe next time :)
-
fapfapfapfapfapfapfapFAP!
-
It makes me wonder what Caprica has to offer. We already know how the story ends. Jane Espenson is great, and I love Battlestar Galactica, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat skeptical about Caprica. I know I'm not the only one.
-
Looks a little disproportionate to me.
-
The girl is very cute, but reminds me of Valerie Bertinelli with that 70's hair!
-
If this is how they choose to sell the show, you just know it's going to be good sci-fi, right?
When will those fuck heads realise, if we want porn, tits and ass, we'll watch porn tits and ass? We won't watch Scifi to get glimpses of side-boob. -
This is not good.
-
I absolutely loved the CAPRICA pilot. I think this series has potential to be better Sci-Fi TV than BSG ever was. It's going to be a tough sell though, and the naysayers who hated how "Daybreak" concluded will have a field day taking shots at this new show. More fapfap material like this will defintiely help though. Sad, but true.
-
It's not too difficult.
-
Creepy child porn.
-
I still feel like this poster is a little dirty because her character is supposed to be a teenager...
-
you do mean Marsters, right? We get to see Spike on SyFy?
-
So I have no clue who that is. But, I restate: fapfapfapfapfapfapFAP!
-
Seriously, who the fuck thought that was a good idea? He'll be singlehandedly responsible for making the show unwatchable.
-
By getting older and older actresses to play younger roles, they hope to eventually get pervs who are turned on by grown women (who are only playing young girls)
-
Her biological character is 16, prior to the conversion, at which time she becomes ageless. Pretend that the poster is sent back in time from season 3, when her biological character would have been 18. Or, alternatively, look at it like the last Family Guy episode, if Miley Cyrus were a robot, would it count? Brian didn't think so (no I don't think anyone should take moral advice from Seth MacFarlane - it was just the most recent/relevant example that popped into my head) Regardless, this image is protected under the Supreme Court's Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition decision from 2002 http://ow.ly/BQRF
Deity/Causality forbid any of you watch Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet (Olivia Hussey was under 18 when she was making the "Beast with two backs" on film) or any incarnation of Lolita, you'll have a freakin' coronary. -
to the UK. No DVD release and I don't do downloading. Looks interesting though. BSG universe+Trixy from Deadwood+ Atia of the Julii=definite interest (possible - for Eric Stoltz)
-
Patton didn't ruin United States of Tara.
-
Remember, they're remaking the Phantom with a stupid costume. So, no surprise there.

James Marsters should be doing better
by christian_bale_trashed_my_lights
He's one of those actors who hasn't really gotten the attention he's deserved. He was great in Buffy and, from what little I saw, great in Smallville too. His appearance in Torchwood was also very cool.I'm pleased he's getting work in this but i'd like to see him get some movie work too.
-
Considering what we already know of Zoe and the outcome of the BSG story that makes perfect sense.
-
I've seen posters for shows like Lost, Smallville, and Terminator. Where can you get them?
-
Have you tried eBay?
-
James Marsters? So even after that terrible pilot I'm going to have to give this show a try? I mean Morales was the only thing I liked even a little in the pilot. Stolz went through the whole thing with the expression of someone with dog poop on his shoes and neither Walker or Malcolmson got anything much to do. And the plot constructed a world entirely from cliche. Now I'm going to have to watch it more. You've put cool news in a crap news souffle.
-
I'll give it a shot. But it seems like FYE or even a comic book shop would stock them.
-
...but I was all anti-BSG, too, because of how all the promo stuff obsessed with the glowing stripe up Helfer's back when she was having sex. That turned out okay. I'd say the marketing folks at SycyiyFyiy either overestimate how horny and easily manipulated their demo is or are very horny themselves.

"Hey, undersexed nerds! Here's a naked chick so watch our show!
by spyguy
The irony is, you know Siffy will edit out all the nudity that was included in the DVD release.

Since she's a robot and not a real person, age doesn't count
by gravybits
She's fair game
-
I'm in.
-
...given the apple in the poster and all.
-
Along the lines of what olmos suggested. What he actually said is that Blade Runner could be watched as a sequel to Battlestar, showing our future where we repeat the same mistakes, though Cylons are now known as Replicants. Got me thinking that a sequel set in oue future would be pretty great. A more advanced future from now, though not as far along as technologically wise as the Galactica civilisation. Unlike the prequel we won't know where its going, the tension created by the audience wondering if we will destroy ourselves again or will we be the generation to end the cycle. Could be similiar to Caprica, but with the knowledge of whats to come. What you groovy folk think?
-
I take down child porn for a living. Please do not end up in my queue.
-
For a start, the actress is 22, the character is 16, which is the legal age for sexual intercourse in the UK. Do you see her tits and ass in the pic? No. Is it a particularly sexy pose? No, she's just holding an apple and smiling at the camera FFS. It doesn't even look like the actress's body (no way in hell she's that thin, not that it matters).
-
never thought she was hot or anything but her latest video.."party in the usa" or whatever..she just looks tasty. illegal be damned.
-
I mean seriously?
-
Cos unless they are the final five and co. then it just doesn't make sense!!
-
I avoided the new Battlestar Galactica for 3 years, purely because TV rarely delivers, let alone Sci-Fi on TV.
But we are living in the Golden Age of television, and we are very privileged to witness shows like The Wire, BSG, Mad Men etc, I realise that now after stepping into BSG with all my prejudices, one of my favourite shows of all time.
The Caprica pilot was decent, the mood was different, in a good way, as long as they keep clear of too many storylines with the kids (naked or not). January can't come soon enough. -

So Siffy is using pedophiles as an advertising base now?
by asimovdiedofaids
Figures.
-
She looks wicked hot in that picture, but seriously, do a Google Image search of that girl...she's a pedophiles dream. She is legal, but you could actually treat her like was a 12 year old girl and believe it. Her face is too young. Something really freaking me out about it. That said....if she was naked in my bed...
-
all these hot teen girls around. cant imagine if you're trying to cure yourself too and you sit on a bus during rush hour only to have 10-20 highschool girls get on. even i have to act like i dont notice them so i dont seem naughty, god bless imagination. :p

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ show will suck ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
-
If you're going to have a sexy, naked chick on your poster, make sure she's actually PRETTY!
-
I liked the pilot, and to all those who say "what's the point, we all know how it ends anyway" - The ending never was the point. Like the Monkey voice-over says: it is the journey that matters.
-
All I see is the pug-faced girl from the "Caprica" pilot. Wow, you fanboys are not very discriminating.
-
Dollhouse got canceled. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA THAT SHOW WAS TERRIBLE! AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
-
Defying Gravity had none.
-
on the show?
-
Isn't this the same site where people call each other cocks?
-
..don't worry, my girlfriends asian so I'm allowed say racially insensitive things.
-
Skynet/HAL/Replicants/Cylons are not far off people. Ten years there will be a computer brain able to out think us and feel emotion. Haven't these people learned anything from Hollywood movies??
-
Sounds cool, but considering how many other robotics and AI labs working on similar projects keep saying they're no where close to matching the complexities of the human brain - I'll believe it when I see it.
Which, if we go by the Skynet scenario, would of course be too late. ;) -
I give it one season.
-
... that she doesn't actually look underage. Just because teenagers on television look this way, doesn't mean normal teenagers do.
Go actually look at some real 14-16 year olds. And no, not in that way. Please try not to get arrested in the food court while you do it. -
But it's going to be cancelled before it finishes it's run - there's no way it will pick up the numbers Galactica made, and Galactica was struggling numbers-wise. I hope I'm wrong here because I'd love to see a four-season prequel to BSG going along as the pilot promised....but I'll be surprised if it gets a second season. Really hope I'm wrong, loved the pilot, could be a fantastic show.
-
..was in this months issue of BBC's Focus magazine. You can probubly look it up online. Scary stuff. Thoguh the brain is said to be the size of the pentigon so it will be a long time before they can stick it in a robot body. Still, they really shouldn't hook it up to the internet or Roland Emmerichs next movies will be a true story bout what happens....well,probubly not.
-
nothing. No reason to watch this show, just a bland girl eating an apple, move along."
-
...for that apple!
-
always good to meet the likes of yourself here.
-
Focus is a bit shit. They aim to popularise science at the expense of accuracy. I used to get it for about a year, and each issue was worse than the last.
-
near as hairy, no where near as popular with woman and I'm broke!!!
-
..It is a bit shit, a science tabloid really, but the cover stories are usually pretty indepth and accurate. There's only two mag's in my local newsagents I pick up, Focus and Empire. Focus ain't a heavy read but it's good just for something to flick through over a mug of coffee.
-
but if you want to know how far we are away from decent AI, you can't read something like Focus.
There are websites you can read, instead of tabloidy science mags.
Slashdot.org has usually got some very intelligent commentary on science stories of the day.
Bear in mind, some technologies have been "10 years away", for 50 years now. Among the more heinous examples of our species deluding itself with the 10 years away myth...
Fusion reactors
Cure for cancer
AIDS vaccine
US adopting the Metric system
Global currency
