New Animated Comedy OUTER SPACE ASTRONAUTS, From A Pair Of HUCKABEES Veterans, Hits Syfy Dec. 8!!

Syfy has set a premiere date for “Outer Space Astronauts,” a five-episode animated comedy written and directed by “I Heart Huckabees” visual effects supervisor Russell Barrett. (“Huckabees” writer-director David O. Russell serves as the series’ executive producer.)
The Hollywood Reporter has the premise:
… a futuristic comedy about eight military misfits who journey to the far reaches of the galaxy on board the O.S.S. Oklahoma.

Probably one of the most devisive movies out there, right up with Donnie Darko, but I just find it incredibly, incredibly funny. The first I saw it was on HBO, and I watched about ten minutes out of the middle of the movie, and was just obsessed. I immediately went out and bought it. It gets funnier every time you watch it. Marky Marks best performance ever. Anybody else heart Huckabees? Or hate it?

I remember seeing it in the theater. To this day, it rivals only Freddy Got Fingered for most people who got up and walked out that I've ever seen. Makes it even more special for me. David O Russell can rot in hell though.

I can't judge it by that alone though. Unfortunately, I STILL haven't seen Huckabees, so I don't know what to think. Or what in the hell AngrySnowMonkey read to make him think it "sounds awful."

Then I'll have to watch 'I Heart Huckabees' if it's comparable to Freddy Got Fingered. I don't know anyone else other than myself who likes that movie. I even bought it on DVD from a bloke on eBay who said 'awful movie, want to get rid of it to anybody stupid enough to buy it', so I gladly bought it! I hope Ronald Raygun's comparison was a worthy one...

I Heart Huckabee's matches Freddy Got Fingered only in it's ability to alienate it's audience with dreamlike weirdness. However, it's more of a philosophical weirdness. If you're looking for an elephant semen shower, you'll be sorely disappointed.
