Live in Chicago? Want to be the first to see Nicolas Cage in BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS? Capone has the details!!!

Published at:  Nov 11, 2009 12:01:49 PM CST

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.

To put it as plainly and simply as I know how, BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS is some fucked up-shit, in all the right ways. More importantly, this is a return to form of an actor who I have loved for decades for always knowing exactly what note he’s expected to hit in a particular role and than ignoring that note and picking whatever fucking notes he wants. Nicolas Cage has rarely been as out-of-his-mind entertaining as his is in Werner Herzog’s BAD LIEUTENANT, a film that is in no way a remake or reimagining retread. This is an entirely new story, new location (post-Katrina New Orleans), with a new character losing his brain and life to drugs, gambling, physical pain, and the occasional nasty sexual encounter. Did I mention the film is a comedy as well? This one has got something for everyone, and something to appall everyone. And if you live in the Chicago area, you’ve got a chance to see it early and free. Read on…

The Ain’t It Cool News screening of BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS will take place Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 pm at a theater in Chicago. Only contest winners will get the location details. Here’s how to secure a pass good for You and One Guest. If you stray from these instructions even a little bit, you're out of the running!

Send me an email at capone@aintitcoolmail.com with the subject line "BAD LT. CONTEST". In the body of the email, I need YOUR FULL NAME and whether or not you’ll be bringing a guest. If you don’t have a specific committed guest in mind, please don’t tell me you’re bringing one; we’re getting way too many no-show guests lately, and those are seats that go to waste. In the body of the email, answer the following question: “Who is the most corrupt or otherwise fucked-up cop in movie history?” Feel free to argue your case, but please keep your answers to 75 words or less, no matter how tempted you are to go over the limit.

Winners will receive an email from me over the weekend and have your names will be posted on the site, so send in your entries soon. Winners must bring a photo ID to the screening to get in--no exceptions. Good luck, everyone! See you there.

Personally I'm not interested in her at all, and I find it hard to believe that Sam Raimi is either. I thought he was into classic Spiderman and vintage villains? It's Lizard time, finally.... surely?!

..is it me or has this site had an apathy injection over the last few weeks? The news, the reviews..everything has been, well, a bit 'meh'.Does anyone really give a good God damn about Nicolas 'Wiggy Hamboy' Cage and his pointless new movie?Maybe I'm calling it wrong, maybe it's just me...

Live in Chicago, love Werner but Nic Cage sux ass

    by jah_kingdom

Nicholas Cage is the white Eddie Murphy. Whatever movie he is in, no good can come from it. And that toupee - yer not fooling anybody. A hairline does not start behind the ears. You know Werner was on his ass to dump that thing.

"Why didn't this premier in New Orleans!?!??!!" But Unlabled corrected me on that. Had no idea there was a film festival in New Orleans. Maybe next year, I guess.

This movie has win writen all over it

    by asimovlives

and that's quite a statment from me because i'm dead tired and fed up of Nick Cage. But then again, this is a Werner Herzog movie, a man who never, ever, made a bad movie, and who will go down in history as one of the very top best director that ever lived. Well, he already is in history as one of the very best director ever.

BiggusDickus, think of this as a Werner Herzog movie

    by asimovlives

that just happens to have Nick Cage in it. besides, in a Werner Herzog movie, HE IS THE STAR OF THE MOVIE, not the actors. Really, think of it as a WERNER HERZOG MOVIE. Works a treat with me.

I'll give you good fellows the benefit of the doubt on this one. But I warn you - if I see this and there's a whiff of ham or SHOUTING FOR NO REASON, I'll be round there to shave your heads and give you both humourous toupees...
