Merrick here...
Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.
A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.
When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

60 MINUTES featured a 12 minute(ish) report on AVATAR last night. CBS has been kind enough to provide the piece for all to see via miraculous embed. I haven't watched this yet, so I can't vouch for its coolness. Here ya go...

A script fragment purporting to represent the written-but-never-filmed Shatner cameo for J.J. Abrams' STAR TREK has gone online over at TrekWeb. I'm waiting for a full confirm re: this fragment's authenticity, but it does match perfectly with everything I've heard about ShatKirk's intended appearance. I'll post an UPDATE confirming or debunking as soon as we know for sure.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with my chat with the legendary director Mr. Werner Herzog. You’ve probably noticed my enthusiasm for his film BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS which began at Telluride. I would call it his new film, but the dude has another film in the can already (MY SON, MY SON WHAT HAVE YE DONE? which also showed at Telluride).

Marking Nine Years at AICN....
In 2000, around Thanksgiving, I signed onto to AICN to add anime coverage to its then running Asian media column. Soon there after, as that feature faded away, AICN Anime was spun into its own column.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. You might call this a bit of non-news... and you might be right. But you'd be dead wrong if you don't think the below isn't worth posting.
What I've embedded is a mod which originated here and just like the unofficial Ghostbusters Mod that was linked and forwarded across the internet a few years ago I'd be willing to bet that this amazing piece of work kick-starts a real next-gen console Back to the Future game.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the results of the Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans poster contest!
I ended up with over 60 entries from all over the world. The contest was only open to US readers, unfortunately, but some non-US residents entered hoping only to have a good enough entry to warrant inclusion in the runner-ups… a couple made the cut and you’ll see them below.

In MEET THE FOCKERS, the 2004 sequel to MEET THE PARENTS, we were introduced to Bernie and Rozalin Focker (Ben Stiller's parents). Now that a new FFOCKERS film is rolling around, there's been some question as to who'll return.

John Hlavin, a writer on THE SHILED, will script a new UNDERWORLD film. No word on who'll direct or star, although Len Wiseman (who directed the first two films and produced the third) will produce.
