Need Your Stu Phillips Fix? Perhaps Live Doses of BSG, BUCK ROGERS, and KNIGHT RIDER on Oct 24th Will Do The Trick?

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here with a little nugget for film and television music fans in the Los Angeles area looking for something to do this weekend. You might be sitting around thinking, "Man, I've got to get my Stu Phillips fix." Well, Dr. ScoreKeeper has just the prescription for your ailment. On Saturday at 8PM, on October 24, 2009, in celebration of his 80th birthday, Stu Phillips will be conducting a rare concert performance of his music from his scores for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (1978-1979), BUCK ROGERS (1979-1981), and KNIGHT RIDER (1982-1986). Mr. Phillips will be conducting the Golden State Pops Orchestra at the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro, California. As an added bonus, Bear McCreary, composer of the most recent incarnation of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA will make a guest appearance conducting his own arrangement of Stu's theme to the classic original series. Several more sci-fi scoring staples will round out the program including music from STAR TREK and THE X-FILES as well as the world premiere of a suite from a movie opening this weekend. The best news is that the highest ticket prices are going for $35 and start at $15. As of this writing seats are still available. Click here to purchase tickets.
