Mr. Beaks Has A Tony Jaa-Signed ONG BAK 2 Poster (And Other Goodies) To Give Away!

Published at:  Oct 26, 2009 10:31:30 PM CDT

Beaks here...

The winner of the Tony Jaa-signed poster of ONG BAK 2 is Bobby Corbell. The winners of the DVDs are Sean Boulger, Erich Reich and Kevin Heitczman. Congrats!

Dig that poster? Want one for yourself? Want one signed by acclaimed ass-kicker Tony Jaa?

The good news is that I can make this happen. The rotten news is that I can only make this happen for one AICN reader. Fortunately, I've also got three ONG BAK/CHOCOLATE DVD two-packs, so there's a little more Jaa love to go around.

If you want in on this contest, please send an email with the subject header "Jaa Is Love" to aicncontests@gmail.com before Friday, October 23rd at 5 PM PDT. Please be sure to include your full mailing address. The winners names will be posted to this story no later than 5:30 PM on Friday - which, not so coincidentally, is the day ONG BAK 2 hits theaters, VOD, Amazon and XBOX Live. If you're not sure about ONG BAK 2, check out Harry's rave from this year's SXSW, and know that this movie will knock you around like a recalcitrant fancy lad.

The citizen critics were not, in large part, kind. Dances with Wolves in Space, they said. Smurf-porn. Pocahontas meets Halo. Some drew unflattering comparisons to Thundercats, and made reference to Jar Jar Binks, the most hated of all digital characters. (Notably, members of the print media, who got it so wrong on “Titanic,” mostly held their fire.) The message boards on Ain’t It Cool News, a fanboy site that started tracking “Avatar” a decade ago, logged bitter disappointment. The fans there had anticipated “eyeball rape.” One wrote, “My eyeballs were merely fondled without permission.”

Yeah the NY article is good BUT

    by ominus

there is a part where Jim falls into an oxymoron:''“Too much is being said about the technology of this film. Quite frankly, I don’t give a rat’s ass how a film is made. It’s an emotional story. It’s a love story. ''
if thats the case mr Cameron, then why the fuck did u wait 13 years for the technology to evolve,in order to make your god damn movie?
but u know what the real truth? u acknowledge that the geekdom not only was not impressed by the visuals of your movie, but that it reacted in a very negative way,and now u try to bring in front the story of the movie, rather than its technology. how the mighty fall right?

I reviewed it at my site - www.thefilmblogger.com.

    by titus05

Ong Bak 2 aired last night on HDNET Movies...so those with that channel got to see the movie for free before it officially hits theatres in the USA...they probably will be repeating it so check your listings...I recorded it on my DVR and will watch it later...HDNET Movies will also be showing the US version of Red Cliff before it hits theatres...Red Cliff is on November 18th...good job HDNET!!

And a very revealing look into the filmmaking process of Jim Cameron. I had hoped AICN would have linked to it, but we're an informed bunch and folks are finding it on their own.

HDNET is part of an HD package with my cable company...it's not bundled separately...the channel shows some really good movies in crystal clear HD to boot...I watched Blade Runner: The Director's Cut for the first time on HDNET Movies a few weeks ago as well...good channel to have if your cable company has it available

it's weird that you have HDNET but not HDNET Movies...usually they are bundled together...you should call up your cable provider and ask them about it...maybe they have put HDNET Movies into a special movie tier that you have to pay extra for

Not to be confused with The Protector

    by abominable snowcone

The Protector is wrongly named "Ong Bak 2" in the states. It's not the same movie.

Tom Yong Goong is the name of the one with the ass-kicking finale where the baby elephant gets thrown and Jaa fights with bones on his arms

Thank you for that, i did not that. I bought The Protector year back (the one with the baby elephant at the end) and was crushed to find out it only had horrible English dub and no subtitles at all.
