Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Hopefully you guys all read the first piece introducing Bob Burns and the fantastic documentary based on the elaborate Halloween show he and his friends put together back in the day, with the help of people like Dennis Muren and Rick Baker, called Bob Burns' Hollywood Halloween.

If you missed the article click here to read it!

Always one to share his passion with the world, Bob and his crew are releasing this documentary in parts for free one segment a week leading up to Halloween. The next section has been posted and it covers one of my favorite shows. It's not as elaborate as the Time Machine, Thing From Another World or Exorcist shows, but the creativity that went into the Jekyll/Hyde show astounds me. So simple, but so amazing.

What are you waiting for? Check it out:

    Holy shit.

We used to do haunted houses in our garage, but they obviously paled in comparison in every way to Bob's masterpieces. The effort and talent involved in that is staggering.

Great stuff Bob. I love Halloween.

I put a few hundred into my house each year for the kiddies and love turning it into a great haunted house. Good to know that not only am I not alone, I'm just an amateur compared to this guy.

    Thanks again, Quint

I had already watched the second feature by like 5AM on Monday morning, but I enjoyed it a lot. It's amazing how Bob attracted the very brightest artists in the FX industry to his home, and how he seems to have played a part in a few of their careers. Boy, do I wish I'd lived in that neighborhood to see all of the cool scenes they made! I can't wait for the final two insallments!

From what I understand, Bob stopped doing the shows back in 2002. Think of these features as a retrospective of Bob's and Co.'s best work. The final show was The Thing. Maybe this will inspire someone else to take up the reins.

Awwww, that's disheartening. Glad they're captured on video, though I'm sure they must have been dynamite to witness in person. (Guess that blows my Halloween night cruise through Burbank outta the water!)

Don't work as good as part one. Shame, all that hard work and good will just became too much of a pain in the ass.
