1.2 Girls Next Door
0.9 Drop Dead Diva
0.6 Mad Men
0.5 Curb Your Enthusiasm
0.5 Dexter
0.3 Bored To Death
0.3 Californication

* NBC’s football, Fox’s animated sitcoms and ABC’s dramedies all hit season lows. (Recall that the 2009 premieres of "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers & Sisters" already fell 37% and 35% respectively from their 2008 premieres; both shows are now below even those levels.)

* “60 Minutes” got a big boost from CBS’ football overrun, but ratings momentum drained away by the time the network’s “Three Rivers” and “Cold Case” rolled around; both dramas hit season lows.

* Fox snuck a new episode of “Brothers” in at 7 p.m. (TV Guide told us to expect a “Cleveland” repeat) and, in its first airing outside the Fox Friday Death Slot, the Strahan sitcom hit its (very low) best number ever.

    Sundays simpsons was surprisingly good

    by jettl93

Very well written, more of an emotional core then quick gags and a lame story. In fact this season so far has been better then the last. Shame it isn't getting the ratings something like The manatee writen family guy gets, but i can't see FOX being too woried about lower ratings, The simpsons franchise as a whole brings in more money in merchandise then most other shows on TV. I don't do alot of TV work, but damn i would kill to pen a simpsons script

Flashforward got a full season order today

    by throwmetheidol

  • So, Fox is not incapable of moving a show to another night to see how it does. Then what's the excuse for leaving Dollhouse in the Friday death slot? Has it ever been tried on another night? Was Firefly ever tried on another night?
    Why not?

Herc, I'm still curious about Sunday cable shows

    by somerichs

HBO's shows, Mad Men...how do they stack up? Do they track and/or release ratings for them? Are they even close to the network shows? Yeah, sweet, k thanks man...

You're absolutely right. I had the EXACTLY thought when I read that Brothers (which, I might add, is god-awful) was tried on Sunday. To answer your question, Fox did not try moving Firefly before canceling it, but given the fact that they ran the episodes out of order and didn't have much faith in it from the get-go, it seems like they didn't even want to try. Fox seems to have more faith in Dollhouse, which makes me happy and confused as to why they were so negative about Firefly. For what it's worth, Fox did move Wonderfalls to a new time slot ... and then canceled in the following week.

    THE COLTS-TITANS GAME SUCKED ASS

    by mr spork

Though had the Titans won, my opinion would be different.

To be fair, when the game was scheduled, it looked like a good match-up. Who would've thought the Titans would be winless at this point. They were supposed to have been a Super Bowl contender.

    Colts-Titans

    by wrath4771

That was the "Who Cares?" game of the week. The Colts are the most boring good team in football and the Titans not only suck this year, but are boring to watch even when they are good. Frankly, I'm surprised they didn't grab Miami-New York whehn making the schedule and kick the Colts-Titans to the cub on Monday night.

    Dexter vs. Sunday night cartoons

    by anusuldarkley

Used to watch the fox sunday cartoon lineup. I got tired of it being interrupted with Football. Then I saw Dexter. That cured me of Sunday animation domination.

  • Why the hell does CBS even bother scheduling 60 MINUTES at 7 p.m. on Sunday nights? It never starts on time because of teh footballs.

my DVR crapped out 50% into the 3rd FF episode

    by rkdn

and honestly, I wasn't sad at all. Right about the part where they're discussing the need to validate the 'teaser info' from the Nazi guy, it just stops and i notice that its at the end of the recording (we had a world-ending thunderstorm that night).
I remember feeling relieved. Im done with the show completely - this was a sign from God to stop watching it.
I should have stopped when that black woman showed up from Homeland security. I used to write characters light that when I was doing one-scene plays in middle school. She was a walking CARTOON. And Fienne's boss, who I think is the "omg did that AFLAC duck just TALK?" guy, is equally bad.

    Colts-Titans is a poor example

    by cmdx

Sports with different games every week are never going to be consistent. There are some people who watch football every Sunday night because they like watching whatever game is on, while other people prefer to watch individual games they are actually interested in seeing. If the game had been another Giants-Cowboys the ratings would have been huge but 2 huge games don't happen every week to get great ratings for Sunday night and Monday football.
