Zombieland RSVP lists are here! Still tickets left for Miami, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Seattle!!!

Published at:  Oct 01, 2009 2:58:19 PM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with the confirmed RSVP lists for all of our Zombieland screenings tomorrow night! Right now only Chicago and New York City are overbooked. That means if you live in Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Philadelphia or Miami there are still seats left. Click on each city name to RSVP and you'll get an email confirmation from the studio.

I'm going to lead off with the overbooked screenings. I think by tomorrow night all screening will be overbooked, so arrive early to ensure a seat.

The below lists of RSVPs will be divided between confirmed seats and the standby requests. If your name is on the standby list you've definitely got a chance if the confirmed plus ones don't show, which tends to happen. Especially the New York screening, which is only overbooked by a dozen people. Chicago is more like 50, but there is hope for both cities!

Here we go!

    NYC Screening

    by maestro610

Hey anyone going to the NYC screening you seriously want to get there early. There is a promotion company that will hand out passes in addition to the studios' passes to ensure a full seating so you can find yourself on a line of 200-300 people if you show up too late. Saying all that the flick is awesome and definitely worth seeing. I've been to two screenings so far and I'd still have tried for this one if I'd seen the sign up for it before it was overbooked.

    by peter venkman

yeah-good point. I went to the District 9 screening in SF and it was like checkpoint charlie. I came straight from work and had my laptop with me-they freaked out and were quizzing me about why I had it. I saw other people checking their iPhones, but fuck that-I kept mine in my pocket.

If you only got one ticket, it's because the AICN staff decided they don't like you. See, every name submitted is then sent to a panel which thoroughly researches that person's background - it's like a vetting process. They do a background check, look at your facebook page, contact your past lovers; it's very thorough. If someone appears shady, they don't want to risk what type of mystery guest that person might possibly bring. So they issue those people one ticket, and they will monitor those people during the screening with a hidden camera system, and those people will be followed home and observed over a period of months for fact- finding purposes in cooperation with the government.

    AnonyJones, no confirmation emails

    by yackbacker

There will be someone there that has the list from AICN/Sony. If your name is posted by Quint, that's your confirmation

If you don't receive a confirmation email...

    by chakraborty

...it means you didn't pass the vetting process and your name has been scratched off the list for this, and all future events. Even non-AICN events. You won't be able to graduate (if you're a student) or fly internationally except to Guam and Bolivia.

    Assuming a +1 would be counter-productive.

    by lenny nero

They want to get as many butts in the seats as possible, so why would they assume you have a friend when your intention is to go alone? That's a wasted RSVP.

I unfortunately had to cancel my RSVP, but that doesn't really help anybody since Seattle isn't overbooked.

    Philly screening...

    by harrywannabe

Thanks to AICN for posting those RSVP e-mail addresses! Just got home from the Philly showing and it was easily one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time! I'd put it right up there with 'Shaun Of The Dead' as far as comedic zombie films are concerned...and there's definitely room for both films since I wouldn't say that they necessarily compete against each other, they kind of compliment each other I think! The opening credits sequence set to Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and done in the super slow motion...even interacting with the credits themselves really helped set the tone for the film! I liked all the characters (granted, there's really only 4...but still) and the cameo towards the end was nothing short of genius! I'll definitely be recommending this one to friends! Can't wait to see it again!

    by glenn_the_tool

and it was a hysterical movie. it has "cult movie" written all over it in a very good way. very quotable "You're like a cockblocking robot built in a lab!" and the big cameo appearance? EPIC. stay tuned after the credits too.

Movie was great, turnout was a little dissappointing, (about half, while district 9 was packed), but everyone there seemed to love it. Agreed on the cameo, loved it from start to finish. Thanks AICN!

That's cool that it went well. It wouldn't have mattered that you could have shown up at 8 and gotten because I would have shown up at 6:30 and end up waiting. I actually went to a Zombieland screening 2 weeks ago at the same theater and I didn't get in just by the skin of my nose. I did however meet and get a picture with Jesse Eisenberg because he was hanging out in front of the theater drinking a beer before it started. No matter, I'll see it this weekend. If it's good like everyone says it is, I don't mind paying for it.

Xerran, you didn't actually miss it

    by chakraborty

Because if you go to the theater today, Zombieland is actually playing. Yes, you'll have to pay for your ticket, bur think of it as a stupidity tax. . As for the movie, I just watched it; it was good, not great. As good as you can get for a zombie movie. As a genre, I think zombie movies have peaked, because zombies don't make very interesting villains. Return of the Living Dead remains my favorite zombie movie, but Zombieland was good.
