Just Because It Is Cool: Time Lapse BattleCat Painting!

Hey folks, Harry here... You know... I was never the hardcore He-Man geek. I thought the toys were a little too bulky - to where they became silly. That said, I had a friend that had everything and he repainted it all. Made Castle Greyskull look fucking awesome. He repainted the various figures to give them detail and shadow and sweat and - well the sculpts were great starting off points for an artist like him. And still, the cartoon was always a cartoon - but that wasn't what happened when we played with the toys. We created scenarios informed by the world of Conan, Kull and Lord of the Rings. The word continues that a HE-MAN movie is moving through the realms of studios - and I absolutely understand the commercial viability of the material - but the mammoth challenge of making that material worthwhile. Because to make HE-MAN palpable to any thinking person - you're going to have to "grow the property up" - texture it with the dreams of a generation that played with those toys. I'm on this kick because artist, Robert Burden sent me his time lapse BATTLECAT painting that he did - and watching the art take form in incremental stages... well it is exciting. Mainly because you can see and appreciate the steps and passion that obviously went into this. I don't know about you... but this is cool:
