This Is It! The Michael Jackson rehearsal footage movie trailer moonwalks across your 'puter screen!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Yeah, this is a cash-in on the early death of one of the most influential pop artists of all time, but as someone who grew up with Michael Jackson's music I couldn't help but smile at the footage in this trailer.
I don't know what I was expecting of the concert he was prepping, but this trailer shows a glimpse at something that would have been incredible. They touch upon a ton of his music, but not Thriller... however I spied some fast cuts of tombstones and zombie dancers.
So what are your thoughts? Blatant cash-in? A nice memorial for the artist? Maybe both? It's bittersweet, but here's the trailer which debuted at MySpace:

Either way, I never would've gotten to see these concerts, and I have no doubt a DVD of this would've been released at some point, so it's really not so much a cash grab as it is them trying to make back some of the money they lost planning these shows in the first place.

Yea, it's a timely cash in, but what isn't? People want this, and the footage is all new and wouldn't have been released in this way if the concert had been able to continue. It's really just a fairly even and good decision based on the options they had. It doesn't come off as shameless at all to me. I'm all about this. And Man in The Mirror is one of the best songs ever. The cold hard facts is that on all cases there was no real hard evidence. Is that proof? No. There might not have been hard evidence, but he still could've done it. But then again it does clear his name, and often that has saved an innocent man from a lifetime in jail. The fact is, is that guys who think he did it, seem to formulate their arguments through a series of expletive rants which just seem to give the impression that the person writing said rant is a fucking buck toothed idiot and is as misguied as I was when I watched the Phntom Menace and walked away saying "It's still good. Since we have the very vocal MJ haters screaming at the top of their lungs that he was a pedophile and comparing him to OJ, let's not forget a few important "facts" here:
1. For a serial pedophile like what Jackson was claimed to be, it's rather odd that only two accusers came forward. Remember, it was the entire state of California vs. one man and they couldn't find a single corroborating witness.
2. Both accusers come from families that have a reputation for filing litigation for monetary compensation. The first boy's father sued his own son for money and the boy later filed a restraining order against his father. The second family were known grifters who unsuccessfully tried to sue JC pennys. Jay Leno, hardly an MJ fan, testified on MJ's behalf at that trial.
3. OJ was guilty and got away with murder. What happened the next time they got him on some lesser charge? THEY THREW THE BOOK AT HIM.
Now we have MJ who paid off the first accuser (which automatically indicates guilt, not that oh...he may not have wanted to drag his name into the mud any further with a long drawn out trial or lose all his endorsements (which happened anyway)). So people assumed MJ was guilty, his career was well into deep freeze by the time the second trial came around.
EVERYBODY in the media thought he'd be found guilty. Remember Nancy Grace declaring the verdict months before the end of the trial? Tom Sneddon the DA had been waiting over a decade to get a chance to go after MJ again. Guess what? Again the state could not find jackshit against MJ.
Oh but he has money he could get out of it. Yeah...that sure saved OJ's ass the second time. Not to mention MJ was about to lose Neverland around that time because he couldn't even pay rent.
Guilty my ass. This is basically a case of someone being a "freak" and thus automatically being considered "guilty" as a result.
One last tidbit. Since you guys love smokinggun.com so much, why don't you see the court document from the original Psychiatrist that brought the first boy's story to the cops back in 1993? He concluded in 2003 that MJ was not a pedophile, but a regressed 10 year old.
