Damn.
-
I'm wit it!
-
Crappy quality but worth watching for the tiny glimpse of Eric Roberts "I OWN YOU!"<p> This is looking very Eighties... please be rated R.
-
...yeah, I don't know. "Who sent you?" "Your hair dresser." I can dig it that they can't have a discussion regarding the nuances of the last Oprah show but for fucks sake, it would be better than a series of grunts and chest thumping. I wish there were more action films like "Way of the Gun." I'll probably still see it anyway. /sigh Maybe they'll give away free beret's as a promo.
-
I think Shoot Em Up looks more like the winner on "Man movie of the decade."

Stallone's movin' on up w/ Jeffrey L. Kimball as DP!
by The_Genteel_Gentile
With the guy behind many Tony Scott and John Woo films, you know it's gonna look slick and great.
-
Quite possibly the coolest Dolph Lundgren line ever.
-
This better be rated R....
-
A little surprised they didnt put up more of the names at the end, even though they not as big as the main stars or not as big as they once were
-
Mind-blowing revolutionary epic masterpiece like dreaming with your eyes open awesome
-

Shoot 'Em Up is horrible and wishes it was Running Scared!
by The_Genteel_Gentile
Running Scared accomplished what Shoot 'Em Up and Crank failed.
-
I think the main badguy in that was Angel from Dexter. It was a little hard to see though...
-
with all those berets.
-
Pretty solid looking. Looks exactly like a cheesey 80s actioner, but more intense and less campy. It's a fucking shame Bruce Willis isn't in it though. A fucking shame.
-
WHATEVER, MY DICK IS STILL HARD FOR SOME LI VS LUNDGREN
-
LATEST REPORT AS OF A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, BRUCIE IS A GO. ANYONE HEARD SOMETHIN DIFFERENT SINCE THEN?
-
While better then Shoot'em up (but what isn't), and maybe better then Crank (after the first viewing). It not better then Crank 2. And hopefully is not better then this soon to be AFI classic.
-
That shows just what you can do with technology if given enough time for it to advance to the point where you can film your true vision. This movie will revolutionize how films are made for sure.
-
Willis is still in it for a cameo...and yes Eric Roberts does FUCKING OWN YOU!
-
apart from that, pretty cool. and yes, that is angel from dexter.
-
Can definetely tell their going for a PG13
-
Bruce is still in 100%. The three of them shoot their scenes in a couple of weeks. And yeah, that teaser rocks hard. Dolph is gonna rule...
-
A bloopers real with ZANY 1920's sounding music over it.
-
If he dies... he dies." because THAT was not only Dolph's greatest line ever, but possibly the coldest/hardest shit anyone has ever said to anyone on film. oh, and Sly, i must say i'm feeling a tad worried after having seen that clip. not sure how i feel about (a) merc carrying an effin cellphone with him, and (b) Angel Batista getting his Raul Julia/Bison on.
-
Looks like a classic action movie with all the right things: people running from explosion, cheesy one liners, vehicles jumping through glass windows, etc. Pretty much exactly what I wanted it to be.
-
I hadn't heard anything for or against Bruce lately, I just figured if he was in it they would have showed him in the teaser or at least flashed his name to get people pumped. I'll hold out hope you are right and they are trying to keep his appearance as secretive as possible. Thanks.
-
Dat was not a good line.
-
And he is the fucking MAN. So nice and genuine and friendly and talkative. I told him I was looking forward to The Expendables and he said he was too. I asked if it was a fun shoot and he said it was. Said it was "violent and fun". I said "Just the way it should be." He said "I agree" and then gave me a high five. <p> Then we shot the shit about Heroes and I mentioned I liked his last episode and wished they hadn't killed him off; he agreed and then started talking about how the producers had a hit show on their hands and then ruined it. <p> It was a fun conversations and he was genuinely enjoying himself. Good guy indeed.
-
I swear, if this film is less than stellar in its final, released form, I will take a hostage... BRING THIS SHIT ON!!!!
-
That's looks a little messy - a little plotless - a little underwelming! Hopefully that's just cos it's a teaser...
-
First, the hotness that is Julie Benz is in Rambo 4, now Sergeant Batista (David Zayas) is apparently the bad guy in Expendables. What, does Michael C. Hall play the "beast-man" in Rambo V? Either way, The Expendables looks like cheesy 80's action fun, and I am so there (barring a PG-13 rating, which I have faith Sly will stick to hard R)
-
...has to be, when the alien says, "I come in peace", and Lundgren replies, "And you go...in pieces!"
-
how could it be anything else? lets be honest guys. its live free or die hard with half a dozen watered down mcclanes.
-
fuuuuuuucccKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!
-
it may not be to everyone's taste, but in NO WAY is this going to be another Live Free or Die Hard. At least they're trying to recapture the spirit here. It's supposed to be kind of crappy. As long as this isn't another Snakes on A Plane, we'll be fine. BRING IT ON!
-
it's gone.

-
Definitely looks like an 80's flick.<p>Which is a good thing in my mind these days.
-
I'm in my 30s, so I remember the Lethal Weapons and most notably, being a Sly flick, Demolition Man. I don't know maybe we'll get lucky. I do see that a movie like this may sell more tix if it is an R though. Kinda like, who the fuck would pay to see Nightmare on Elm Street if it was PG13.
-
I fucking love Dolph in the trailer.i cant wait to watch him in the new universal soldier movie too.
-
pg13 is a bigger target than and R. I'll take a bet against this making more as a R please? You haven't got a clue. Easy money!
-
Take into consideration that Sly is trying to reestablish the 80s style of the action genre.he is not going to revolutionize the genre, not even modernize it. <p>Silly macho quotes, smoking cigars and playing cards, getting the babes,a lot of muscle, humour, fights, explosions, real stunts with the actors doing them by themselves and most importantly NO FUCKING CGI. thats what sly is going to bring back. <p>is he going to succeed? personally i believe the movie, even if it its a hit,it wont bring back the old trade of action films.unfortunately we live in the age where the pg13 superhero comic movies are considered the new action movie genre, and atrocities like TF2 dominate the BO. <p>but that wont stop me from enjoying the film.unless sly has done a mediocre job with it.fingers crossed that wont be the case.
-
Come on Sly, you've had me standing here with my dick in my hand for like a year now.
-
Dang didnt know that he was in this movie, not saying he a great character actor but I liked the dude.
-
under the title john rambo

I concur Series7, "Rambo: Director's Cut" already!
by The_Genteel_Gentile
BTW Series7 I wasn't attempting to compair "The Expendables" with "Running Scared". Just simply responding to a previous poster who claimed "Shoot "Em Up" as the "Man Movie Of The Decade" (so far). <p> Because I think "Running Scared" correctly got the over-the-top tone and manic energy that movies like "Shoot'Em Up", "Crank" and "Smokin' Aces" tried and failed to acheive. In "Smokin' Aces" case, it's pretty clear it wanted to be a hybrid of "Domino", "Snatch" and "Boondock Saints" and failed miserably at equaling those films in as much as at the very least just pure entertainment value. I hate the idea of "Joe Troy Guy Duffy Carnahan-Ritchie" ruining any chances for a great A-Team movie. I'm exceadingly happy he never got his mits on Mission Impossible at least. <p> But I digress...
-
Shoot Em Up is fun once you allow yourself to get into it. It's way too wink wink over the top to be great though
-
When did this go down? I think I'm gonna need you to qualify and confirm that, because I've never seen nor heard of a Director's Cut for Rambo being released. Lest you be branded a liar (clearly by a less classy sort than I, of course), prove it.
-
really was a very good achievement. Probably the only Paul Walker movie that has some great acting in it (Elizabeth Mitchell, anyone). <p> On that account, I also think "Hostage" is a pretty underrated action flick. Personally, I think it's one of Bruce's best. Not as original or dark as the adult fairytale world of Running Scared, but still a great action flick.
-
It has NOT been released anywhere.<P> Apparently it's 12 minutes longer than the original cut. I'm sure it will be on DVD at some point.
-
A smaller action film from Bruce that I really appreciated. And its got another great performance by Ben Foster. That guy is going places.
-
I keep waiting for Florent Siri to break through big time. <p> Another movie I thought was pretty cool was Jean Francois-Richet's remake of Assult On Pricinct 13.
-
I've been hyped for this movie for months now but that did look like shit. The guy who brought up Live Free and Die Hard was right on the money. I thought this was going to be a serious and brutal action film like Rambo. First the PG-13 rating and now those shitty one liners? This does not bode well for the future.
-
Yeah I realized that after I posted. <P> I don't think Crank was going for that manic bad ass action. Especially after seeing Crank 2 (Have you seen that?), it feels like they were trying to make the best grindhouse movie ever. Its much better then what QT and RR gave us.
-
I was surprised how much I liked that movie as well. Also surprised how stylish it was. That opening scene/credits was pretty awesome. I thought it would be like Mercury Rising.
-

odo19 - Keep in mind the promo's for Rambo were awful.
by The_Genteel_Gentile
Yet Rambo turned out pretty great. So yeah, people in the promo department likely need to recieve their pink slips.
-
It's just been screened: http://www.labiennale.org/en/cinema/festival/lineup/official_selection/out_of_competition/rambo.html
-
and I'm not giving up hope just yet but for now my enthusiasm for this took a pretty big hit. <P> Also I agree with the Hostage sentiments here. That was one badass little movie. Any movie that gives Ben Foster work is okay with me. I think I liked the opening scene the best though.
-
Should we use that bodies hit the floor song? <P> Sure why not, I've already got it loaded. We use it so much I created a easy trailer cut program to it. <P> Sweet, wanna go do some more blow? <P> HELLZ YEAH!
-
I wonder since the passing of Swayze and the retirement of the throating ripping out move, will he have to edit that scene out of the movie?
-
But I can't get on board with you on the Crank love. I saw both films in the theater, I did not walk out or go to sleep, but I really found it testing my patience for cutsey indulgent overwrought juvenility. I guess it comes down to my lack of tolerance for that kind of gloriously exploitational grindhouse type of filmmaking. I prefer just a tad of medicine with my sugar instead of total mindlessness wiithout any virtue at all. But that's just me.
-

-
WORST. TRAILER. EVER. (bodies hit the floor)! Ahg, really excruciating.
-
...isn't great. <P> In fact, remove Stallone and I wouldn't ever consider seeing it...
-
Sept. 15, 2009, 3:09 p.m. CST
I'll wait for a non-bootleg version to make a determination
by bullet3
I do think the pacing on the trailer feels a bit off, too much emphasis on one-liners, and not enough emphasis on the cast. What they oughta do is have a title card for each actor, flash the actors title-card, show a bit of that actor in action, then the next actor's name/him in action, and so forth. Can't judge the movie by it either way.
-
...is going to be a baddie in it which pisses me off! I was hoping to see him and Sly smash a couple of beers together over a pile of enemy soldiers bullet-riddled bodies and shout 'That's the Bottom Line!' or some shit like that and then give Eric Roberts a piledriver off the top rope and finally flip the double bird to the audience... ah well...
-
The oneliners and cam is the whole point! THAT IS WHAT MAKES THIS MOVIE FUCKING COOL.
-
He won't fuck this up; he's a fucking Oscar Winner for fuck's sake! <p> (I said 'fuck' quite a lot there...)
-
Lowering my expectations after viewing that. It looked forced and cheesy. The first warning sign was the release date getting bumped to the tail end of summer 2010. This trailer is the second warning sign this movie is in trouble. The third sign will be reshoots being scheduled.
-
analogically it seems to be the most expensive film, sly has ever make.there are how many? 10 main actors in this film, with some of them big names (statham,li,rourke).who is going to pay all of them? and what about the rest of the production? explosions, stuntmen, and all that crap. <p>it is an expensive film, and it needs not only to earn its cost back, but to make a decent profit too.it is understandable that Sly and the producers are following the PG13 route.we are not in the 80s anymore, where people were going to watch these kind of films.Times have changed guys, and with them the show business too. <p>now that doesnt mean that i agree with the PG13 rating of the film.I wish it was r-rated.but i am going to watch in at the cinemas, and i hope a hardcore r-rated dvd version will be released.
-
I saw a Dolph and Jet Li fight, Water boarding and The Demolition Man, Why can't this come out this weekend?
-
Ummmmm Final Destination opening weeked the top four films in The US of A were all rated R. R is the new PG-13!
-
It's too bad Sly couldn't get Arnold + B. Willis to take bigger roles.
-

You fuckin dorks. I said its called ''JOHN RAMBO''

AWESOME trailer - wish there were more cast names
by GibsonUSA Returns
STALLONE. STATHAM. LI. ROURKE. Why not add AUSTIN. COUTURE. ROBERTS?
-
was the release date getting bumped to the tail end of summer 2010."<p>That happened just after "Inglourious Basterds" opened big. "The Expendables" will be released on the same weekend next year. If anything, that's a sign that this may well be "R" rated.<P>"This trailer is the second warning sign this movie is in trouble." This is a hastily put together teaser, for a far from finished film. Remember that Stallone has yet to shoot the Schwarzenegger and Willis stuff, and there's going to be lot of post-production work to be done.<P>It's early days, we'll get a better idea of what this film will be like when a real trailer is released.
-
Sept. 15, 2009, 4:56 p.m. CST
Lundgrens name should have been up there...
by judge dredds fresh undies
I mean the guy has a bigger role than Mickey Rourke who I didnt even spot in the footage.
-
That's the question.
-
There isn't one, he's talking bollocks.<P> As I said earlier the Director's Cut was screened in Venice a few days ago, it was probably titled "John Rambo", just as the original cut was in many countries.
-
What the hell did Stallone ever get an Oscar for? And don't say Rocky, that doesn't count. Leo Dicappachino didn't get shit for Titanic winning best pic.
-
Someone get that man a gun.
-
Yeah, you notice the trend of teen PG13 horror movies dieing down. Jennifer's Body, Sorority Row, Orphan, Final Destination, ok maybe not FD, could have easily been transformed to fucking PG13. My wife tells me that there is no way that ECLIPSE
-
My wife tells me that the Twilight Eclipse movie has to be R rated due to the severe violence in the book. That would prob be the only one I'd see.
-

That hot chick until she took her clothes off...
by SoylentGreenOnACracker
Was this shitty trailer.
-
I missed this one, but maybe that's for the best...
-
I missed it. I wasn't home. :(
-
Are you fucking kidding me? That bullshit with Oleg Krepka doing some wannabe-Tarantino schtick about John Wayne in "The Cowboys" while some pussy-ass bullshit involving day-glo hockey pucks occurs? And a twist that renders the entire film nutless on every level? Better than "Crank" and "Shoot Em Up"? Do you guys have a lucky crack pipe?
-
rents due, bitches!
-
I know the studios know itll make more as pg-13 but in that age group, other than Statham, do kids really know who Eric Roberts, Stallone, and alot of other 80s, 90s actors? Most people that get a hard on are in mid 20s and up. I grew up on Commando, rambo, bloodsport. I cant imagine it making that much more as pg-13, I could be wrong but most studios now a days obviously want watered down pg-13 movies, cause they know the punk kids will buy a shitty movie ticket to some disney movie and sneak in to a rated R whitch is hilarious that theyre mommy and daddy cant take em. But cant they now a days have an R version and PG-13 version of movies, prob make alot more money that way than one version. But doubt theatres would do it.
-

Sgt.Steiner - You sir have horrible taste (must be a studio exec
by The_Genteel_Gentile
Anything and everything are better than "Crank" and "Shoot Em Up". <p> You see, Wayne Kramer is a legitimate filmmaker and his artistry can be seen in "Running Scared". Those other fellows are merely children running amuck with camera's and money.
-
Sept. 16, 2009, 1:41 a.m. CST
The official trailer should introduce almost EVERYONE.
by GibsonUSA Returns
It should be like this one, except when the names appear on the screen one-by-one, there should be a b&w picture of the person behind the name. <BR><BR> STALLONE! (Picture of Stallone punching)<BR> LI! (Picture of Li jumpkicking)<BR> STATHAM! (Statham shooting a gun)<BR> ...and so forth...have like 8 names in a row...the theater crowds will go nuts.
-
Sept. 16, 2009, 1:44 a.m. CST
Agreed, the footage looks like Chow Yun Fat wouldve been perfect
by GibsonUSA Returns
Save somma dat for the sequel!!
-
I mean seriously WHAT. THE. FUNK. It would be like porn movies having fully clothed people flirting on a bench somewhere.
-
Of course I meant fucking Rocky! That was supposed to be a joke... Sarcasm doesn't come across very well in typed form sometimes...<p> Although to give him his props he was nominated for best actor and writing for that movie...
