I mean, really?

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 7:37 a.m. CST

Madonna gave the best Michael Jackson speech ever.

    by ganymede3010

She basically said that everyone abandoned Michael in his greatest hour of need.

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 7:39 a.m. CST

that was fast!should have been called

    by TheManWhoCan

"this should have been it!" still who cares , he was a nonce anyway!

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 7:43 a.m. CST

    of course they abandoned him.

    by Papa Lazaru

of course they abandoned him. If my own brother was on trial for child molestation , having previously admitted to millions of people that he shared his bed with children . You better believe I'd abandon the mother fucker ( child fucker)in a heart beat . Guilty or not .

Edman all i can say is that quite alot of people do give a fuck. There's alot of people being born on this planet and very few of them have an impact on global culture like this guy did. Ask yourself who will give a fuck about your life after you've gone. I doubt there will even be an article in your local paper. Show respect to someone who at the end of the day was very good at what they did.

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 7:45 a.m. CST

    who cares?

    by Nuking the Fridge

Probably the greatest musical performer of all time. There are still millions of folks out there that are still mourning him. From the snippets, looks like it would have been an amazing show.

And i certainly dont give a fuck about this. I'd love to see an "Honest" trailer for this....nonsense, where instead of saying of all the ...schmaltz? Instead of that they say something like "Brought to you by some shit scared investment bankers, and an entertainment company that wants to dredge every last cent out of this poor dead fuck"

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 7:50 a.m. CST

I heard about this one guy who was at the Jacko trial. He said that when the prosecution started to really push Michael and make him angry his bullshit sweet girly voice would drop 3 octaves to a normal angry black guy voice. People at the trial said it was scary and weird like when Mini Me starts talking in Austin Powers! I think its hilarious!!

    by Edman

He was a singer and a dancer, and a songwriter. He was an entertainer, and none of that compares to the fact that he was a child molester. That makes him the lowest form of scum on earth. Any good that he did was eradicated by that. We all make cracks and jokes about "keep your kids away fro Michael" and "George Lucas raped my childhood" but the fact remains that there is little you can do to decimate a human life more - even taking that life is less abhorrent than what Jackson did. And don't give me that "he was never convicted" crap. Neither was OJ, but would you leave people you love with either of them? I know I wouldn't.

well he was never convicted and he didnt flee the scene of the crime as oj did so comparing the two isnt the right thing to do, YOU dont know, YOU werent there. Arthur c clarke was also a child molester but his worked changed the history of humantiy, im a great admirer of his literary work (2001, invention of the satellite and telecommunications etc) and like it or not jackson's work changed and steered music, dance, entertainment and popular culture(music videos especially) ALL OVER the World, Every single nation! so my point is LOTS of people do give a fuck.

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 8:49 a.m. CST

OK if you're not an MJ fan you're not gonna be fucked either way, but I've always been into his music and shows so this is a must for me and millions of others worldwide. People what to know what it was going to be like. Yes, they are trying to make up their losses on that, but wouldn't you? Plus there is a genuine interest in what this amazing entertainers swan song was going to be. And from that trailer it looks like it was going to be sick.

The Jews get my money for this one -

    by Professor_Monster

I can't wait to see it. and for all you screaming childfucker - let's see, the first kid Jordan Chandler has already come out and said his father (who was a screenwriter and penned the Mel Brooks movie "Robin Hood Men in Tights" used him to try to get Michael to buy screenplays from him for 5mil a piece - when Michael said NO the guy made up the story and called the cops with it - when they (the police) originally asked Jordy about it - he had no idea what the hell they were talking about - but the cops continued to press him not believing it wasn't true. The kid is now twenty something and says NOTHING EVER HAPPENED - his dad put him up to it and he feels like shit for going along with it. The second kid is almost the same thing - his mom was known to sue the shit out of people for nothing - JC Penny, A security company, LAX - shit man, read some stuff before you toot the horn. Michael was the greatest entertainer ever - and I men ever. Put all those fuckers at the last night's Music awards into a blender and drain the talent juice and you still wouldn't have enough to fill Michael's vitaligoed nutsack. The world is a better place because he was here - he gave more money than anyone to charities (check the world records book) and he filled this shit ball with great tunes and performances that will be watched and studied long after we are gone and the HARRY 9000 becomes self aware and tries to take over the movie theaters of the future. Long live the king.

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 10:27 a.m. CST

To all who call Michael a child molester

    by Big_erk

I am a father of three children and if anyone dared to touch one of them no amount of money would keep me from seeing those who did it locked up or worse. I would pursue criminal charges no matter what. Civil matters can come later. What I am saying is this, these people who accused him of the heinous act sure disappeared quickly when the topic of money came up. How many parents here would do the same if it really happened? I have to believe that almost all would want guilty party to pay and not pay up. It is for this reason that I believe all the charges against Michael were fabrications. No parent would sacrifice thier child's innocence for money...would they?

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 10:35 a.m. CST

Good Point Erk, no Parent would let a molester go free.

    by ganymede3010

It was all about money. When the financial settlement was presented the parents went away.

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 10:46 a.m. CST

    Something Stank

    by Papa Lazaru

Why put himeself in a siatuation were we could be accused of such acts, and to such a degree that it resulted in a criminal trial .Prosecutors and states don't put people on trial at the drop of a hat . Couple that with the fact that he admitted on TV that he slept with children ( not his own , mind you ) in his bed frequently . The whole situation stank to high hell . I'm not saying that he was a child molester , but he was silly enough to put himself in a situation where be could be deemed one ,not once but twice . Whatever the truth is . He was an odd odd man with some behaviour that people could rightly argue was "suspect" . I don't think that can be argued .

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 11:01 a.m. CST

    Big_erk another point to add

    by SpawnofAchilles

Just wanted to add something to your great point, and that is, Michael came into contact with many, many children. Of all those he did encounter only TWO of their families came forward with these accusations. Where are all the rest? It makes no SENSE if you actually THINK about it which most of the mouthbreathing shitheads who just label him a child molester seem incapable of doing. The people who accused him were money hungry and took advantage of a damaged person (from his upbringing and unfit, insane father.)

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 11:09 a.m. CST

    Papa Lazaru

    by Professor_Monster

    J. M. Barrie (the man who wrote Peter Pan) was also accused of the molesting children - he didn't, but because he enjoyed the company of children, saying they were his greatest inspiration, (same as Michael) people didn't know what to make of it. Michael should have been more responsible - the only way to think he would be so blatantly open about what he does is if he really and truly thought he wasn't doing anything wrong. I think he was damaged simply out of the fact that people aren't meant to be famous - before there was ever such a thing as celebrity - the only people who were famous were dictators and overlords and sanity is not something kept when you have that much power - in my opinion. Michael was once the most famous person on the planet and I would say more famous than anyone before or since - there's not a person here who lived through the 80's that didn't have a copy of Thriller in their house. That kind of fame can't be good for you.

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 11:18 a.m. CST

    Sorry, Prof. Monster

    by Stabby

Sorry, never had a copy of anything by MJ in my house. MJ brought on all the criticism himself. It is not appropriate under any circumstance for a grown man to sleep in the same bed with children not his own. You can defend MJ by saying he was naive about how this is wrong, but somebody in his infinite posse had to have advised him that it was inappropriate. The parents who consented to this are also to blame.

    by emeraldboy

I have heard that he was involved in drugs cartel. we all know how corrupt the lapd is. I also heard that they have a file on OJ and his cartel activities. There is a golden circle in the lapd who have links to this cartel and have access to the very highest level. They are not pressing charges for oj narco crimes. better to have oj painted as a wife beater. Oj the drug is too uncomfortable for the higher echelons of the Lapd.

    by Stabby

Polanski was convicted of statutory rape. No alleged about it. Also, I am not saying that MJ had sex with children. But, in his own words he admits to sleeping in the same bed with children. Which is inappropriate to anyone who has control of their mental faculties.

    regarding the Oj drugs angle....

    by emeraldboy

why did he have a false beard, 150,000 dollars in the white ford bronco and a new passport. Answer? It was rumoured that he had hatched a plan with the head of the mexican cartel that and is wife were involved in to leave the country. Oj's wife was killed on the orders of Cartel Head honcho because she and ron were flashing the cash and that she making noises the cartel didnt want to hear. So oj was involved in wifes murder but not in the way people thing. but the Lapd should release the oj simpson drugs file. the juice wont be loose after that,

Having kids over for a sleepover at his age is just weird unless he was doing something else then it's unforgivable. I did see a clip somewhere of Michael's bedroom at neverland and his bedroom was was not just a bedroom - it was a four room section of the house that had lofts and a separate entertainment section with a large lounging area - his bedroom itself was the size of a suburban house.

    Michael Jackson defenders

    by one9deuce

Here is the thing about Michael, everyone on the planet has their sexual inclinations. Everyone. I like redheads with big tits and asses. What did Michael like? Seems pretty clear to me. He wasn't straight, his "marriage" to Lisa Marie was a sham to deflect from the first molestation charge. His marriage to Debbie Row was a business arrangement to have kids. He was gay. Was there a man in his life? No. Was there boys in his life? Yes.

Looks like it would've been a hell of a concert!

    by Johnno

This is coming out in 3-D right? A lot of his concert footage was supposed to use 3-D gimmicks. Anyway whoever was putting this together obviously spent a lot of money, so now we're getting a DVD/blu-ray of something that would've come out on DVD/blu-ray anyway. It would've made money and it'll make even more money after his death, but I wouldn't call this an attempt of blatant corporate shilling. You want to see corporate shilling? Watch Entertainment Tonight or visit any bookstore to see all the Jackson merchandise. A concert movie that was planned anyway is whatev's...

As for my personal view of Jackson. Fame made him a loon, but I think he's innocent of any child molestation. He's just an odd guy. Hell I've pictured cases where a man tried to help a lost child find her parents at some public place, but was accused of kidnapping and possible child molestation. Why? Because he's a man, some people are just automatically suspicious and paranoid. Might Jacksons' behavior been weird? Yeah, he's certainly like a little kid himself, but a molestor? Nope. But what the hell do I know? I wasn't there and I sure as fuck don't keep up with any celebrity news. Fucking scum media makes me sick. If I ever tune into those kinds of shows it's to catch sneak peeks at movie footage I'm interested in. And they'll make you watch all this other shit before they eventually get around to it. Thank the Lord for Youtube!

    It's just my opinion.

    by Big_erk

The state had 2 chances to convict Michael of a crime. They couldn't. I'm not in here trying to change anyone's mind about anything, I'm just stating my opinion. People in here keep calling out "Jackson Defenders", I'm not defending Michael Jackson. Was Mike odd, oh hell yes, no argument, but being odd is not a crime. Did he commit the crimes he was accused of? My opinion is no, for the reasons I've already stated. I'm not defending anything because there is nothing to defend. If anyone can come forward and show me proof of a crime being commited and not just hearsay, I'd like to see it. All we have right now are a few people throwing around rumors and innuendo about an individual who was a different. Was he gay? I don't know. Does it matter? Are you saying he was predisposed to abuse children if he was gay? At the end of the day Michael did great things with his life, and it is a shame that his legacy has to have this dark cloud cast over it.

Nope, there was no proof.
If the DA had real proof that MJ had rape kids his ass would have been in jail given the hostility that DA had against him.

He, too, was kind and charitable and called on everyone to behave righteously. He had lies and false accusations lobbed at him, he was betrayed by those close to him, he was slandered and spat upon by mobs of uninformed ignorant fools whipped up in a frenzy to the point where he had the flesh lashed off his bones and was crucified.
I think Madonna spoke for us all last night. We turned our backs on a great, talented man who not only entertained billions, but whose true legacy was that he helped - significantly - millions of the poor and the sick.
Be heartless if you need to be against him. But his legacy will stand firm.

    It's called arrested development people.

    by AnakinsDiapers

Was Michael Jackson wierd? You betcha. Did he show poor judgement with allowing children to sleep in the same baed as him? Hell yeah.
Why this lack of judgement?
Arrested development. He never grew up emotionally. We're talking about a man who was "MICHAEL JACKSON" before he was even a teenager. We're talking about a 50 year old man who has been a professional megastar for about 4 decades. Michael never had a normal childhood. He never experienced the normal trials and tribulations that we all go thru in our development which results in the adults we are today. The stresses that entertainers go thru on a daily basis - the ones that result in Maria Carey going bonkers on TRL and Martin Lawrence walking around in the street in his underwear with a gun, Mike had to deal with when he was in his single digits.
Michael was the consumate professional at his job, but mentally he never grew up. Being isolated and mega-rich since childhood will do that. In his mind, the children he hung out with were peers, so sleeping in the same bed had no more meaning behind it than when the fellas stay over my place and we crash after a late night.
Mike was quite looney from his father issues and the circus that was his life, but i don't believe him capable of molestation.

Photos? Recordings? Confessions? Anyone got that stuff

    by cylon_conspiracy

lying around? Somehow MJ didn't get convicted in court, but all the aintitcool talkbackers are apparently sitting on mounds of incriminating evidence.

I say again, how do you look in the mirror in the morning knowing you were the one person who could have served MJ justice?

Of course, if you don't have that there's a chance you're just talking about things you don't know, regurgitating what the media told ya and whatnot. I suppose that's always a possibility.

  • Sept. 14, 2009, 6:58 p.m. CST

    Yes it was arrested development

    by cylon_conspiracy

Hopefully over time people will get over their need to condemn other people just because it feels good. The guy deserves his place in pop history, and hopefully his music itself will make a comeback. It was overshadowed by our TMZ culture.

I was ambivalent when he died, even joked about him here. But as time went on, the tragedy of his life and passing became palpable. I had never before understood how his stalwart fans could've stood by him all these years but as I watched some docs and interviews I came to realize they and he shared a very real and deserved mutual respect.
They recognized in him something that the haters (like those in this talkback) are too jaded to see - a rare, and real, innocence.
And that is why I continue to post about and defend him. Because my eyes have been opened to the fact that despite the horrible mass media narrative that painted him in ugly ways, he truly was a kind person, he was never threatening, he helped the unfortunate even when he could've easily turned his back on them, and he wanted people to better themselves so we can better the world.
That such a good man - whose great talent has left indelible marks on many people's lives, including yours from your youth, I suspect - can be crucified and condemned for so long, whose legacy was nearly erased by manufactured lies and the manipulations of those who sought to swindle and destroy him, is tragedy on a great scale.

"horrible mass media narrative" - BringingSexyBack

    by Lilana

I agree with everything you've said SO much. I was totally taken in by the media-spin on Michael. Like many people I couldn't help but think "maybe he did do it" during the trial just because a second accusation seemed damning. BUT after his death I finally bothered to do some damn RESEARCH on the '93 allegation and the '05 trial and the real picture started to emerge. Even journalists who were vehemently against MJ during the trial changed their minds once they really looked at the FACTS. Now I can't believe he had the strength to endure such public criticism. It's like his Vitiligo. He kept saying he had a damn skin disease --- he had an auto-immune illness for god sake and rather than sympathize the whole world mocked him for it?! More than anything else MJ's death has opened my eyes to how overwhelmingly screwed up the media can be and the damage of groupthink.

At the end of his life MJ was a terrible monster...Hiding under childrens beds and touching them after they were asleep...MJ was and will always be a punchline in the american lexicon...He made it that way...He could've just dated Brooke Shields and left the monkey at home, but he chose the road less remember monkies, tiny male child actors, and an amusment park built to draw in his true drug of choice little boys...He was a joke nothing more nothing less...
