And Galactic, I read every single word of that interview and have no idea what you are talking about. Arrogant? What paragraph did I miss? I sure as hell hope he is confident in his film, and if Burton and Temur are behind him, then we better all be.

I'm looking forward to the film. Shane definitely stepped in it with this one. Lucky bastard ;) Jealousy aside, this is the kind of talent that Hollywood needs.

Tim Burton's name can only bring good fortune as well. I have a feeling there'll be a lack of heart with the picture. I hope I'm wrong though.
Sept. 5, 2009, 9:57 p.m. CST
His last few movies barely made over 20 mil.

as the 49th greatest director of all time in Entertainment Weekly. Surely that counts for something? I'm personally not that big of a fan. People eat his work up.

Burton racks in with Goth's buying his toys, t-shirts, lunch boxes, etc.,etc.?
Sept. 5, 2009, 10:21 p.m. CST
bored me to tears. Not Burtons fault (aside from choosing the project). Sondheim just aint doin it for me.
Sept. 5, 2009, 10:22 p.m. CST
how Timur was involved. (imdb doesnt even mention him) and why he's doing 'Wanted 2' before 'TwilightWatch' (or whatever they end up calling it)

Coraline. Up. Ponyo. And now the very cool-looking 9. Plus, we still have The Princess & The Frog and The Fantastic Mr. Fox to look forward to. Who would have ever figured we'd only get ONE Farting CGI Animal (Ice Age 3) movie this year? I just hope we can keep this cool streak going.

Its awsome! Great characters, great design, all around great. (ASIFA Hollywood is an Animation organization.)
"Maybe a year ago if you would have asked me if I thought the world was ready for a post-apocalyptic animated film" Well, you can find apocalyptic animation in anime since the end of the 70's, so...

I saw that movie yeeeears ago late night on cable once and was blown away but I never got the name of it! I had always wondered what the anthology movie about the robots was called and you just totally nailed it for me! Thanks again!

The owners of the Terminator/Matrix Franchises, especially the lattter. I swear I was watching The Animatrix when I saw this trailer. Mechanical robots have obliterated man in a post-apocalyptic world. Gee, haven't seen that before. They looked just like squiddie too.

It's going to take some serious arm twisting to get my old lady to accompany me for this. Oh well, I'll tell her Channing Tatum not Elijah Wood is voicing the lead:)-

I wasn't real familiar with their sound so I youtubed them. They sound like Heart trying to sound like Rush.
Sept. 6, 2009, 11:56 a.m. CST
...if they are worried about people getting this movie confused with "District 9".
Sept. 6, 2009, 11:57 a.m. CST
Been looking forward to this since a few minutes of the film were put online almost a year ago. I expect a District 9 like response to it.
Sound like Heart trying to sound like Rush. They arent bad, not great, but not bad. Not fond of the vocals. Interesting riffs.

Of course that means it will rock! I still somewhat regret selling off my Animatrix, tho slightly, since I had watched it quite a bit and after the last Matrix movie, I was in Matrix hate-mode! Still, this looks cool, just based on what I saw in the trailer it looks like a feast of entertainment, whether it adds up to a classic or not, is to be decided later. ;-)

Has anyone bothered to spend any money marketing this flick? Aside from the banner ads?
Sept. 7, 2009, 10:21 p.m. CST
Uhm, whom you're quoting is Capone. Shane actually gives an answer very similar to yours...You might want to re-read that.

I was glad to hear Shane reference similar tastes, Quay, Gilliam, ect. I liked the early marketing on this film(minus the goofy green font on the green/acid clouds), but the current marketing has been terrible with its "This ain't your kiddie animation..."
