I really hope the series can recover, my kids and I enjoy watching it. Season was was sooo damn good, then the friggin writers strike ruined everything!

I thought Heroes Season 3 was a decent season. I concur that Season 1 was the best of the bunch, but even so, I enjoyed the subsequent seasons as well. Here's hoping I win!

i know, it's fashionable to rip on the show now, but i've really enjoyed it throughout its run.
sure, the second season had flaws, but i loved how it came together in the end. the first half of season 3 was by far the weakest period of the show (did anyone care about matt in africa?), but the last half made up for it, imho -

First season was good, 2nd season (which I had heard was awful and a big letdown from season 1) was actually pretty good too. Its not the best show ever made, but I really can't complain about it too much. Its entertaining.

television producers and/or networks are the real reason why certain television shows start out great and then get an ice cube shoved up their ass. I am a Heores fan, I'm not ashamed to admit. I love the first season, even the finale, liked the idea of Season 2 more than the execution, and believe if Season 3 had been less complicated and much less time travel, it would've surpassed the second season. The original goal for this show was to have a new cast, characters, and storyline each season. Now THAT would've been cool and unique. But the main problem with experimentation like that ultimately is the 'general' (not fanboys) audience of the show and the producers and networks behind the show. The problem was, everybody got stuck to the season one characters too closely, when really the only three interesting characters were Peter, Hiro, and Ando. Now it would've been fine to have like one or two characters come back for the general audience, but to have everybody, their mom, and their grandmom come back was fucking ridiculous. The characters had no more emotional arc and they turned Sylar into a pussy. That's right, I said it. The network and producers were like, "oh wow, this general audience really likes these characters, let's stick to just that instead of starting from scratch," and that was the start of the line between haters and likers of Heroes. Too bad we will never get to see the original vision of a different cast every season real world X-Men...just a damn shame...

The first season was great and the concept of superheroes without capes was fun to see. Later seasons devolved into a soap opera with few highlights. There seemed to be a focus on shock and surprise as opposed to character driven drama. I have hopes for the next season with Robert Knepper coming on-board. Hopefully we were just seeing a slump and not a shark jumping the last couple seasons.

Not a particular fan of the show, but I'm always up for getting free stuff. I stopped watching at the mid-season break, so for all I know the second story arc (I don't even know what it's called) is better than the first (that would be Villains, yes?). And who knows, if I win (which I won't, because I never win anything), maybe after I've caught up, I'll realize the show is worth watching again!
Of course, seeing as it's sucked massively since the end of season one, I highly doubt that. But you never know. -

I actually did like the last season of Heroes. The first season and that last one were my favs. Better story and no greasy Suresh. HRG has always been consistently the most interesting and fun character to watch. Nathan Petrelli makes for a great overall villain because he is naturally annoying even when he is supposedly a good guy. Sylar, Matt Parkman are my other favs.

The premise for the season started out wonderfully, then gradually careened out of control at the end with the digging up bones for no good reason. If the show weren't so rushed week to week showcasing all the characters, it would work much better, but there are so many instant gratification fans, you know who you are, that would bail if plot development actually occurred, they can't afford to do it.
I really wish the creative staff could have stayed intact for the year, the pacing would have improved dramatically in the coming season. -

Heroes is an episodic fantasy that has never failed to amuse me. I have spent many pleasant evenings watching ridiculous people perform impossible feats, and have not regretted a moment. Go grumble in your cave, haters.

Is this show even on anymore? After the season one of killing many of my favorite characters I took a rest of my life pass on this show. If I want to see someone killed every day I'd watch the WGN news from Chicago. As it is there is Eureka, Warehouse 13, Fringe, House and NFL to watch. Don't miss the show at all. I've been watching a Heroes marathon of my girlfriends Season One DVD the last few days. I think i've figured out how i came to fall in love with this show.
The year was 2006. My girlfriend was watching the show and i could never get interested in it. Until one day.... I saw a little episode called "Hiros". I WAS BLOWN AWAY by the time traveling Hiro from the future who could speak perfect English and the time traveling hiro we already know who barely spoke one word of english. i was drawn in further with the man who could read his wifes thoughts (Which, before this show aired, is a power i would have liked to have). At this point, i liked the show. But when "Better Halves" aired and Peter got the message to Hiro (Save the Cheerleader, Save the World) I FREAKING LOVED THE SHOW.
But alas... I wasn't Hooked. I skipped the next three episodes (BIG mistake). One night i went to my girlfriends house and an episode called "Six Months Ago" was on. So i watched. I never looked back. After that i never missed a single episode. EVER. Every episode was gold in my pocket and i could never let it go. The Twists, The Turns, The Upside Down Crossovers. THEY BLEW MY MIND! The only thing i could do was wait patently for Season Two................
Now. I am one of those types of people who will love and cherish something and defend its Honer till my last breath (I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan... Even the frustrating prequels) I watched every episode of "Generations" at the edge of my seat. Sure it had some problems mainly do to the writers strike. But i loved it anyway. The Twists Twisted Me. The Turns Turned Me. And The Upside Down Crossovers..... Well... You can imagine. The twist at the end of "Out of Time"... SO AWESOME!!! "Four Months Ago".... My Favorite Episode of the Season. After that episode they started speeding up the plot so they could finish the season early. Everything felt rushed. A mistake i hope they don't make again.
Come that August NBCUniversal released Heroes on Blu-ray. I had just gotten a job so i had money... But i didn't have a lot of cash so i had to be picky about what i bought... So i got Season One and Season Two on DVD for my girlfriend. And i bought Season Two on Blu-ray for myself. i still can't afford Season One on Blu-ray (i just lost said Job)
Season Three - Volume Three & Volume Four - Villains & Fugitives - 25 episodes That would ensure my loyalty to this show Forever. What ever Volume Five might bring. Tim Kring can be Sure that I - Nicholas - Will be there EVERY Monday Night at 9:00pm on NBC. EVERY Tuesday night at 7:00pm on G4 to catch the repeat. I will buy EVERY DVD, EVERY Blu-ray. I will have ALL of my friends watch the show and ALL of them will love it like i love it. Then we will all sit and read the comics. Like real Americans do.
You see... Although i just lost my job and i can barely afford to pay rent... I already have money put aside for my Season Three Blu-ray. I was going to buy the DVD for my girlfriend. But i can't afford it.

Better than Season 2, the division between the two volumes is distinct. Vol. 3 - villains was the wigged out, crazy bughshit repowerding / depowering all superhero action we've been asking for since season 1, and we finally got it. It was twisty and confusing and sometimes nonsensical, but it was the most comic-book-y the series got. Vol. 4 - Fugitives turned back to the character drama, and while it lagged at times (Angela's long lost sister was kind of lame but the flashbacks were good) it was a good character piece, always excellent performance by Zaharcy Quinto, and a final episode that was just a total mind-fuck with Sylar returning to the pure-evil being that he is AND a hellova twist at the end. Don't get the hate, it's still original and a wacky show with some good characters and the odd brain-slicing scene. What the heck's everybody's problem?

Watching a season of Heroes is probably near the equivalent of being waterboarded. You know you aren't actually going to die, and it has to end eventually, but still...you're being fucking waterboarded/watching Heroes.

The Production values and cast are better than most shows, but the the writers hamstring the show.
Seriously, last years finale was idiotic. The heroes catch and disable Sylar but decide to hypnotize him into acting like the beloved hero Sylar just murdered. Not for a few days to call off the g-man hit squads but for keeps, what could go wrong?
I haven't been a big supporter or critic of Heroes, but that was the most lame turn I've seen from the show, and I'm not looking forward to the Sylar\Nathan who's body is it crap. -

I'm holding out hope, too. The major thing the show needs is to weed out some stagnant characters and introduce new ones with a mythology that is connected (but not inter-connected) to the current one. Then audiences get the flush of new power discovery (the key to season one)while maintaining the soap-opera of The Company. Hiro, Ando, Peter, Syler, Claire and HRG are protected, but most of the other characters have run their course (Mohinder, Nathan) and need to be purged. Same with Ali Larder..it's done. Move on.

It got better cause the original writer was signed back on only to leave again at the end of the season.....be prepared for another season 2 and hero life support.

I've been a fan of the show since the first episode. But, this past year I felt Heroes continued to lose the cohesivness that made the first season so great. Now I hear that some of this new season will be taking place at a carnival. I can't help but groan, and roll my eyes. Heroes is starting to feel like something you would find airing in sydication on the wekends.

I just hope Season 4 is a lot more consistent than season 3. The problem with Heroes is that it's an idea show. The ideas are much better than the execution, and when you promise extreme action and then does the action off screen it's a dis-service to the fans of the show who wade through 22 episodes wanting a gigantic ending, and we get nothing.

Every time he starts another long winded pretentious narration I really want to switch off..
But I think I keep coming back in the hopes that they'll have some more decent writers and give HRG more to do..
(In fact I think the showrunner Kring, is that his name?..is the main problem as his episodes seem to be the worst culprits..)
Although on the plus side Hayden can sometimes be quite nice to look at..
But I sure wish they hadn't killed off Elle. As Kristen Bell can not only look quite pretty but occasionally shows some real decent acting chops as well..
In fact now that I think about it, this show seems to be in the habit of killing off all the more intriguing guest characters in favour of sticking with the really dull ones..
(I'm sure Ali Larter is a very nice girl, but she's never impressed in this show no matter how many different versions of her character she plays..) -
Hopefully we will get word before this hits the shelves.

Two of my favorite episodes of this series are written by this man, Bryan Fuller, "Company Man" and "Cold Snap" (and yes, Homecoming kicks ass, too). I want the third season, solely for his comeback ep. "Cold Snap," which single-handedly blew every other episode out of the water.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. The fact that Season Four is right around the corner scares me to death. Mainly because the end may be getting closer and closer.
I am looking forward to the Season 3 DVD and Season 4 itself. Bryan Fuller jumping ship(again)makes me wonder just what Tim Kring and co came up with this time?
Will powers switch?! Will Peter suddenly become..hmm, what power HASN'T he had? Maybe he'll become the genetics’ expert obsessed with 'his father’s research' and CLAIRE will become the cheerleader with a thousand powers.
Hmm, maybe they'll get Summer Glau and Eliza Dushku to make guest appearances (ala Kristen Bell.
I wonder what Chris Pine and Karl Urban are doing?! They could come on board as Sylar/Nathan's cohorts in the new "Company" Heck, Maybe HRG could become a Vampire...Heroes has no vampires right now and they seem to help ratings....
Seriously. I hope for the sake of those of us who loved this show from the start and cringed every time some weird plot twist hit a wall (Wonder Twins anyone???)the writers do not go off the deep end and turn Matt Parkman into Sylar, Sylar into Nathan for good and Peter into CLAIRE(Although that last one may be fun for both Milo and Hayden)

Third season was alright but the whole time-travel ordeal completely changing the whole story line definitely made this series overall worse, but not terrible. Definitely worth buying if you don't win.

I just for one season want to see them doing something that does not involve time travel or predictions or peter's extended family. Have a terrorist group do something bad. Have a "hero" be a hero. It seems more like they want to reset everything at the end of each new season. I loved Season 1, I like season 2, I lived with season 3, and hope for a more lively and in many ways a more straight forward season 4.
