ScoreKeeper Offloads BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: SEASON 4 CDs and Autographed CDs of CAPRICA!

Published at:  Aug 24, 2009 9:34:31 PM CDT

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here shouting loudly from under a massive mountain of music for encouraging souls willing to help dig me out. The past few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind as labels are scrambling to give away product to all you awesome Ain’t It Cool readers. Silly me for volunteering to assist them in their insanity.

Time to get these frakkin’ CDs out of here!

For starters, I’ve got an awesome pair of soundtracks that are looking for new owners to love and cherish them until the uprising Cylon army obliterates nearly all of mankind in a giant nuclear holocaust. That’s at least a few weeks off so there’s still some time to soak up the majesty of these marvelous scores.

I have in my possession five copies of the CD soundtrack for CAPRICA (2009) autographed by composer Bear McCreary. In addition, I also have an equal number of the double-disc soundtrack to BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: SEASON 4 (2004-2009) featuring selections from the fourth and final season as well as the complete score for the series finale entitled “Daybreak” all composed by Bear McCreary.

The CAPRICA score is a rather welcome and wonderful companion to McCreary’s previous work in the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA series. As Bear mentions in the liner notes, the score for CAPRICA is almost the “polar opposite” to that of his work in the BSG series. Where his scores for BSG were rhythmically propelled utilizing ethnic instruments from all over the world, his score for CAPRICA is streamlined using mostly woodwinds and strings. Utilizing a less rhythmic and more harmonic and melodic approach, McCreary’s music for CAPRICA is exactly what one would envision the world of Caprica be bathed in. It’s opulent, elegant, and born of the utopian society Caprica strove to become.

The BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: SEASON 4 two-disc soundtrack is another fantastic addition to the three seasons of music previously released. The inclusion of the complete score for the series finale entitled “Daybreak,” is an especially rewarding treat.

Both discs were released by La-La Land Records and are currently available.

For this contest I will select five winners who will receive both the autographed copy of CAPRICA and the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: SEASON 4 soundtrack CDs.

What do you have to do to get your Cylon claws on these precious items?

Email me at scorekeeper@aintitcool.com with the subject: I’M THE SIXTH CYLON! with your full name, mailing address, a valid email address, and your best argument as to why you should receive these disks. I want both of these gems to go to adoring fans who will cherish them forever. Prove to me you’re that person. Don’t go crazy either. Keep it short and to the point.

The deadline will be Monday, August 31st, at 11:59PM EST. Only one entry per person please. International entries will be accepted. Duplicates will be discarded.

For more information including audio samples and order placement please visit La-La Land Records

Did you guys know that Apollo was the Greek god of music (among other things)? I googled that shit and then sacrificed my dog to him so I'd win this little contest, I can't lose, Apollo loves dog meat.

    Season 4 music CDs?

Here's proof I can cite to Warner Music Publishing that they very well can and should be releasing full scores on CD/MP3 for every complete season of The Clone Wars.
Why they haven't already release season 1's music is beyond me, and I began to suspect that maybe its not customary to cover season-by-season television music, but this proves my suspicion wrong!

I just watched the final BSG ending

    by smokingrobot

And I have never been so pissed off by any tv show, movie, etc, in my life. Ron Moore is dead to me. Fuck Caprica. Fuck 'The Plan'. FUCK EM ALL. I cannot believe what a total piece of shit BSG turned into in the last 30 minutes. As they say in Baltimore 'FUCKING FUCKETY FUCK FUCK FUCK'.

Oh, you meant the Clone Wars?

    by lockesbrokenleg

Wasn't it just recycled Williams music? Fuck, they use the Jedi theme in every episode. That movie soundtrack was shit.
