Syfy Orders Season 2 For WAREHOUSE 13!!
I am – Hercules!!
While SciFi’s acclaimed magical-object miniseries “The Lost Room” continues to fail to garner a series sequel, Syfy’s “X-Files”-meets-“Raiders” adventure series “Warehouse 13” is getting a second season next summer.
Despite unenthusiastic reviews, the series is on track to provide Syfy its most-watched original-series debut season ever, according to the channel.
Veteran TV writer-producers David Simpkins (“Freakylinks,” “Mercy Point,” “Charmed,” “Blade: The Series,” “Brisco County Jr.,” “Dark Angel,” “Roswell”) and Jack Kenny (“Caroline in the City,” “Titus,” “The Book of Daniel”) oversee the series, which stars Eddie McClintock (“My Boys,” “Bones”), Joanne Kelly (“Vanished,” “The Dresden Files”), CCH Pounder (“The Shield,” “Brothers”) and Saul Rubinek (“Frasier”).

By this show. Maybe I need to watch more episodes.
-
I love this show. Joss Whedon got a second season for Outhouse, so why not one for the Warehouse?
-
Its not great, but its entertaining enough on a Tuesday night...I just wish they'd pair it back up with Eureka, like they did for a week or two. I havent watched a single episode of Eureka since it moved to Fridays...although I have been downloading them.
-
It's an OK diversion, like Eureka but it's hardly Galactica in its level of quality. Already the format is starting to grate a lot, and there's that annoying air of extreme smugness that all the characters in Eureka also have.
-
and has a great cast. The steampunk vibe is getting old, though.
-
An hour a week that could be better served by something else. Like... um... reruns of color bars.
-
Which is not saying much. At all. It looks like "Mad Men" when compared with their truly awful recent "Flash Gordon" series.
-
I love this show , seriously. Its a lot of fun and Myka is hot and I like the male leads too. Good move by SCI FI.
-
Its a not bad genre show that isn't as deathly serious as BSG (I love the show but come on now, a little levity never hurt anyone). I dig the steampunk vibe and am a fan of Saul Rubinek so its all good for me.
-
Which isn't saying much. What the hell else do they spend money on? The Super Nintendo quality graphics on their shitty movies can't cost that much.
-
Claudia was great, and the show has picked up for us since that episode. We almost gave up on it, but it is a lot of fun if you leave your brain at the door. Eureka, though is the best thing on SyFy.
-
Enjoying it much more than I ever expected to. The cast has real chemistry, and I'm digging the steampunk vibe.
-
I think people are watching for the chemistry between the actors rather than the show's mythology, which is very weak. They need to solidify the background, stop with all this pseudo-victorian gadget rubbish. Why drag around a videophone the size of a cereal box?! Magical artifacts can certainly be cool but not when they're so random and secondary.
-
doctor gave me a topical cream and it was gone in a week, next time i'll definetly wear a condom when i pick up a hooker
-
It's not great by a long shot. Doesn't suck either. But not really worthy of a new season. What more do they have to tell?

He's just inadequate and bland, dumb looking frankly. He's the main reason I haven't been able to get into the show.
-
Not boring as shit.
-
It's a summer show! TV doesn't have to be as good in the summer. There's not much to watch. If they stuck this show in the winter, it might not fair as well. Hopefully they don't forget that.
-
It's not baaad...
-
What a great show. So much fun. Too bad Joe Flanigan wasn't cast as Latimmer. Would have been a better choice. Or even Ben Browder.
-
If this is the best Syfy can offer than its truly sad. I thought Syfy was going to start doing things differently? So far its basically the same shows, with the same set of seasons, and add in more of Stargate:Whatever how is things different?
-
I season passed the show with the intention of giving it a chance. After a few were recorded, I found that nearly every episode was cutoff because of the retarded wrestling show before it running too long. The issues epitomizes what's wrong with the "SyFy" channel. They give priority to retarded programming over actual sci-fi. In any case, none of the partial shows that I watched were compelling enough to make me want to download them, even just to see the ending of a story, which I should have been invested in if it were a good show, concluded. It's a pretty poor show at best. I ended up deleting the rest of them.
-
Dude are you really going to spell Sci-fi with y's for the rest of your life? Like the corporation told you to?
Really and all of you talk backers...am I really the only one that this offends? -
SciFi or Syphy, these are the choices, grasshopper
-
I watched the first 45 minutes of the pilot, thinking at least the setup and intro would be interesting...but it really wasn't. Oh well.
-
If you are on the West Coast you gotta TIVO it in HD (Which turns out to be on EST for me) or the damn wrestling will bump the ending of the show off.
-
WAREHOUSE 13 is an "okay" show, and I mean it's merely "okay." It's not really horrible, but it's not really great either. It definitely needs more meat on the bones and hopefully if they're coming back for a second season, they can tweak it over their break to a massive degree.I've actually found it's a perfect "white noise" kind of TV show. The kind of show I can have on the TV while I'm tinkering at my desk or doing things online, and every so often you look up to see what's going on now, at which point you realize you haven't missed much so you can still follow along AND keep doing whatever it was you were doing. The problem is still the same old problem. As a cable channel that should be rocking the house given the genre its playing with, SyFy still hasn't lived up to its promise or its potential. And it's still such a fucking shame that their overall line-up of shows are so watered down and just flat out average at best.
-
for a Sci-fi show and I appreciate it for what it is. It's not super serious heavy drama like BSG. Like most Sci-fi series, more than one season is required. Especially to build a background arc. There appears to be a small background arc but not alot of "true" history that would help to build the foundation of Warehouse 13. Perhaps in the 2nd season you'll see more of that. There are still mysteries like Ms. Fredericks, Saul's assistant, and i think they need something better to explain the contraptions...
-
Since this is the first I'm ever hearing of it, it must be a huge hit!

They couldn't drop this and pick up Reaper?
by spifftacular squirrel girl
I guess I still don't have a reason to watch anything on a channel with a name that sounds like a cute nickname for syphilis.
-
Saul Rubinek in particular is very watchable. The main issue is that the two leads are more annoying than anything else. Not spectacular, but it's watchable, low-budget, summer TV.
-
it's not because it's good
it's because there is literally nothing else on worth watching
that and they air it at least 5 times a week, and probably 6 or more
it really isn't very good
the best part being the banter between the 2 agents -

Is it just me or do all the female characters on the show lend c
by themark
I want to jump kick the shit out of every girl on this show, with the exception of CCH Pounder, as I'm pretty sure she'd catch the kick and spit some sort of dramatic fire at me. She rocks. Seriously though, I can't stand Myka, and that Claudia girl is just an AWFUL actress.
-
Doesn't sound like you even know what a Dojo is.
-
I hope for season 2 they bring a couple of people who know how to write better dialog. And if they're really still going for Moonlighting, they need to kick their attempts at comedy up a notch. -
Its ok, easy fun TV. Doesn't take itself so seriously.

Answer for those complaining about the big videophones.....
by ka dargo
I would assume it's so the govt. can't trace or monitor the calls. But then what do they do about their cellphones?
-
The said in the pilot that they're unfunded so they have to use old discarded equipment like the Farnsworth. It may be lamp-hanging but it's there. And other then the fact W13 has a big warehouse (that features pretty rarely: what's the point of having it if 9/10ths of the warehouse scenes are in Artie's office?), it really bears little or no resemblence to Indiana Jones.
-
They didn't cut off for wrestling. Rather, at the last commercial break they cut to this "almost seems like it's the wrestling show starting" wrestling commercial for wrestling, which is going to be on in five minutes. Always makes me jump, I'll admit. If anything, W13 runs right up to the 9:00 mark and maybe a minute over, and then they go to wrestling. But that's one problem with the show, the endings seem awfully rushed. The Elements/Flanigan/Indian one was a good example. Big buildup, guy gets four elements and makes himself unstoppable... and Pete stabs him with the arrow. Wrap story, and over to wrestling.
-
I realize Battlestar Galactica didn't get the viewers it deserved, but really? Warehouse 13 is doing better? I don't quite believe that. Don't get me wrong, I went to school with McClintock, and am pulling for the show. But that's a tough claim to believe.
-
I liken the show to a more Bones/X-files kinda feel. I'm enjoying the show more after the pilot episode. Artie is interesting. Myka and Peter are like a brother/sister team going on adventures for Artie. All the actors have potential to make this a better show. Definitely switch your brain to SLEEP MODE, this is a show that you can just enjoy without thinking about it too much. Side note: CCH Pounder? She has a hell of a presence, but WTF is up with people and their names today. We have CCH, McG, McLovin'. I'm not saying go mainstream with a name like John Smith, but why abbreviate or cut down a perfectly good "God Given" name?
-
so many better TV-series didn't get a second!! Still mourning "The Journeyman......:-(
-
Make it so!!
-
Reruns of GOOD programs. Or GOOD movies. Why the push for mediocre "new" programming on all networks?
-
...the CCH in Pounder's name are her initials. Her name is Carol Christine Hilaria Pounder. Perhaps you've heard of JK Rowling, or PT Barnum?
-
is a more appropriate comparison. The only reason Herc links it to Indiana Jones is the Warehouse aspect. I think it's assumed that this is the warehouse where they stored the Lost Ark.
-
As one of your leads, insinuate some gravitas with an actor from "The Shield", have an implied reference to "Raiders of the lost Ark", mix it all into a trailer that's promoted extensively during the last season of your critical darling "Hit" show.
Of course you will garner some of your best ratings ever. Agree with most that it's decent summer entertainment, and better than another "I want to dance my way into marrying a Millionaire Gameshow contestant and have Eight Babies" type of show. But as SSG said, I'd gladly sacrifice it for another season of "REAPER". -
It's pretty good, but I don't like the formulaic "dumb male" "smart, sassy female" thing they have going.
-
I don't quite get the hate for this show. I mean it's certainly not X-Files quality but I'm sure the budget is about a tenth of the X-Files budget was. I agree that the best part of the show is the banter between the two agents. The guy they chose for Lattimer is really starting to grow on me as well. It's on my DVR season pass and it will stay there.
-
The setup is that Myka is super professional and prepared and that is why she is teamed up with Lattimer, who had terrific instincts and reads people and situations expertly but needs someone to rein him in occasionally.
-
Why would you classify Latimer as a "dumb male"? If anything, I'd say they've got a balanced 50/50 relationship between the two leads.
-
and I'm warming up to the two leads, I think they have good chemistry although oddly not in a sexual way, but in a buddy cop way. It has a lot of potential and a lot of fun stories to tell.
-
I still feel that the lead actors aren't hitting the right beats yet with the humor in the show. Some of the dialogue is quite funny, but the delivery is still lacking. Actor portraying Lattimer is more successful than Myka so far imo.
-
when they stupidly stopped running the mystery science reruns on saturday mornings. Fuck the crappy ass channel.
-
Up above Ka Dargo said: "Answer for those complaining about the big videophones. I would assume it's so the govt can't trace or monitor the calls. But then what do they do about their cellphones?"But that's the stupidity OF the big videophones. Every episode is basically showcases JUST how brilliant Artie is, from having been around the Warehouse for all of his working life. And they constantly play up JUST how brilliant he is with tinkering with things -- obviously things of a higher order magnitude, when it comes to traditional science, hence the whole reason WHY he's working there.Okay, so once you've established that fact about Artie's character, why the hell wouldn't he simply take the technology of the old, clunky videophones and transplant it INTO the agents modern cell phones? So they would be walking around with something that...to the casual eye...would completely blend in, yet the moment they flipped them open they would serve the same purpose as the big, clunky videophones? Think about it: the core idea of them USING Warehouse technology to their advantage in the field obviously isn't an issue in the construct of the show -- hell, that's why they walk around with the Tesla guns to stun people. And no, it doesn't count that Artie will usually have some silly toss-away line like "I like doing things the old way" or some such bullshit that they've tried to get away with. The bottom line is that Warehouse 13 and the items retrieved or placed within it are SUPPOSED to be of the utmost importance to national security. So it makes absolutely NO fucking sense that you'd continually send out two field agents with aged, clunky devices. As a result, the show is fun, but its internal logic borders on the truly moronic -- a sure sign that someone's asleep at the story editor helm.
-
The man has a resume a mile long! I guess it's hard to wrap up his career from a handful of credits. He's not really been a series regular before (that I can recall) but his guest spots are always memorable. Sort of like your Bruce McGill (though he was frequently on MacGyver) or any character actor. All I'm saying is it'd be nice to give a little recognition.
-
I don't know what that is. It can't be the Sci-Fi Channel, because that name actually means something!
-
That is all.
-
on this show turn me off. They are two of the most ugliest actors I have ever seen.
Eureka also sucks this year (no Ed Quinn). It's become a lovefest soap opera. -
The value of your opinion speaks for itself.
-
all the cast are great except for the boring female agent and ive totally lost interest for this show its just to damn boring....
-
I want SciFi AND TechTV back, assholes!
-
shit fest, the first ep was unwatchable-even the promos which they run every two minutes look horrible
-
This show is the most craptastic shows in scifi history. I'm a big scifi fan but it has no action. the actors are second rate and the weapons are crap. I mean I understand what they are trying to do here but the production values suck ass!
They need to bring farscape back or something very good worth watching. I love eureka, but other than that until SG-u comes out and give me a nerdgasm. than that's the only reason I watch the damn syfy channel for.
Out of all the shows they keep this crap. I would have loved to see a season 6 SGA!
