We got a rundown on the three big trailers hitting this week! AVATAR, WOLF MAN and Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION!
SPOILER ALERT !!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a spy report on the three big trailers premiering this week. If I'm not mistaken AVATAR hits the nets in a few hours, but if you're itchy to know what you're in for we got a written preview that includes bonus looks at INCEPTION and THE WOLF MAN.
Without further ado, here's our spy's take on the trailers!
Avatar- The trailer shows Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) in a wheelchair in some sort of military station, and then he is looking at one of the blue creatures in a tube. We then cut to Sully being put in something similar to an MRI machine. He then takes control of the alien body with his mind. Then comes a barrage of action sequences of a battle between the space marines and the blue creatures. Many dogfightesque sequences. One of the marines is ripped from his craft by some large creature that looked like a very large venus-fly trap. The trailer ended with to of the blue aliens kissing.
The 3D looked phenomenal, and the action sequneces look outstanding.
Wolfman- The trailer begins with a voiceover about how some old man was scared by a creature that killed a man and tore him to pieces, and so he crafted silver bullets and never went out on a full moon. Cut to Lawerence Talbot (Benicio Del toro) arriving at his father's (Anthony Hopkins) house. Talbot's brother has just been slaughtered by some creature. Detective Aberline (Hugo Weaving) is hot on the trail on the murderer and his investigation seems to be going well. There is a quick bit about the Wolf Man, and then it shows Talbot chained up and transforming, as well as Sir Talbot telling Lawerence that he's in trouble. The trailer ends with a fast paced montage, and then a girl in the woods hiding from the Wolf Man.
I like how this film looks, but I hope it isn't anything close to Van Helsing.
Inception- This was a very short teaser. It started with Christopher Nolan's name, then a flash of a spinning top, then "The Director of The Dark Knight", then a bird's eye view of a city. Then cut to Leonardo in a vehicle, looking on in horror, then a man being drug of a helicopter pad, then the words said something about the "crime seen being in your mind" or "What if the crime scene was your mind?", a glass of water is shown sitting still but the water angles itself, then it cuts to two men fighting in a hallway, but as they jump, the hallway starts to turn, like the glass of water,, and both men collide in the air and start fighting, then the title is revealed.
I'm really interested to see more on this film, not much is revealed here.

Thanks Ace! Can't wait to see the war stuff in the AVATAR trailer. The Comic-Con footage was beautiful, but had precious little action. Can't wait to see Marines vs. Na'vi!
And INCEPTION... Of the three, that trailer intrigues me the most. I can't wait to give it a view myownself. You?

I'M ONLY LOOKING FORWARD TO RICK BAKERS WORK ON WOLFMAN.....
by carlthormark1978
The man is a FUCKING LEGEND!!!
-
you know this to be true
-
....ended with that amazing 'APOCALYPSE NOW' shot that's just been released, instead of that damned kissing scene! Oh well, it'll still be an amazing teaser by the sound of it.
Can't wait for the Del Toro / Rick Baker 'WOLFMAN' one either. A great cast in that.
'INCEPTION' sounds....er, like an interesting 'thriller' so far.... -
Can't wait to see the Inception. I've been an avid Nolan fan since Memento and will watch anything he makes.
-
He hasn't made a bad movie yet IMO.
-
Doing drugs while waiting for a helicopter!
-
sad when a DESCRIPTION of a few trailers is considered worthy of a news item
why?????????? -
and I'm of course anxious to actually see some 'live action' from Avatar.
-
i am intrigued too.
-
I want a trailer, dang it.
-
..especially when compared to the Skjoldbjærg version. Aside from that, I'll agree to Nolan's unblemished record. Memento is unquestionably wonderful, and Following also happens to be my personal favorite.
-
It's like listening to someone describe how they ate a sandwich. No thanks, I'll go eat my own fucking sandwich...
-
Hehehe and who thinks they will actually be able to get the site to download the trailer when it 'hits'?
This has frustration written all over it. -
WOOT!
-
...that a lot of us like Victoriana monster movies and if Johnston was contracted to make a "Van Helsing" sequel, I'd be behind that. (Just as long as whoever was writing it didn't screw it up like those "Smallville" guys.)
-
Going to be in the trailer or the themesong for the new non-Romanek (tear) Wolfman?
-
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
-
..on this board. Now that's going to be exciting movie making - exploring the depths of the intellect and turning it into a hostile horror-filled battleground. Good going, Chris. James Cameron couldn't carry your jock.
-
load you bastard!
-
Doesn't even show up on the site any more
-
and give us a full width AVATAR banner with link to the GODDAMN trailer you promised us minus-4 minutes ago...
-
im getting error message for the hd formats and a question mark in the video for small medium and large
-
LOL
Invalid URLs, big blue Q with a question-mark in the middle.. oh this is going SWIMMINGLY -
Just kidding....
-
tried downloading the files and they just show up errors in vlc.
-
I wonder if it's not showing up because it really was supposed to be released tomorrow and Apple fucked up.
Or maybe this is just another testament to geniuses at Fox's marketing department who gave us such great work on the Avatar Day tickets website. -
...very similar to the way the 'Q' on the NiQuil bottle talks to me after drinking half the bottle.

For Fuck's Sake - Fox needs to hire some porn webgeeks. I'll share a few from my own company. Those guys know how to handle this BULLSHIT.
I mean - WHAT THE FUCK?! Fox is a billion-dollar company who have had MONTHS to prepare for this. What kind of jackassery is this? -

-
Seriously - I just saw it. It's like a high-tech version of what my nieces watch on the Cartoon Network on Saturday mornings. It doesn't look anything remotely 'real'.
How can Cameron state this is a 'game changer'? It's good - but northing that blows my mind. -
Truly terrible CGI.The first part of the trailer looks promising,then....fucking hell, just terrible..and yes,I did see the trailer, from the link above.
-
I agree.
-

-
Looks like a video game.
Give me a fucking break.
All that talk from Cameron and THIS is what we're looking at?
What a load of crap. Cameron needs to watch District 9 to see what a good CG character should look like.
-
... and WOW! Not good... Hopefully it'll look better in 3D IMAX tomorrow...
-
The first half looks and feels like Cameron sci-fi of old, then it turns into game cutscenes. The Na'vi DO look pretty good against the live-action backdrops, and even though there are no lines of dialogue it looks like Worthington is going to be able to carry this. NO-ONE here is NOT going to see it, so everyone better keep their whining to a minimum!!!
-
Saw the trailer via the french MSN link posted above and WOW!!! I can't wait for the 3-D sneak peek tomorrow. I am loving this shit.
-
"No one here is NOT going to see it.."
Cameron hasn't made a non retarded movie since The Abyss. I had no great desire to see this. I wish more fanboys had the balls to not see a movie simply because of a name attached to it.
-
you said "How can Cameron state this is a 'game changer'? It's good - but nothing that blows my mind."
Simple.....what do you expect him to say? Should he just be like "Eh...it's okay. Better than most CGI you see on Cartoon Network". No. He's going to sell this movie. Geeks everywhere were dying to see this film before any production art was even released. It's all about the hype. The movie could suck....but mostly everyone on here already bought a ticket when they heard "James Cameron.....3d....new technology....game changer...." etc. -
(Like that ever works on here)
You guys are seeing seconds of animation cut together. You can't really tell how good it is yet until you see a full scene in context with music and dialogue. You're saying it looks like a video game because it's being presented as two-second jump cuts and mostly action. Don't let your ADD get the best of you. This is a teaser, people. The movie is not going to be presented this fast to you. Just wait for a full scene with emotive animation and then you can properly judge it. -
Apple's shit still isn't working for me, and GODDAMNIT I want my 1080p !!!
-
Just about everyone that comments here judges everything based on the smallest details. I've seen people condemn whole movies or shows based on one casting notice or after seeing one still image or reading a premise. It's silly....but it happens.
-
Sorry Jimbo, you just ain't all that anymore.
-
I had just got off a long day of work and decided to post a quick rundown of the trailers, not some elaborate and detailed description worthy of an award.
I was just sharing some info with you all to get you remotely excited about the three films. -
http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/the-wolfman.html?showVideo=1
-
maybe post those? instead of your "rundowns"..lol..jesus
-
nothing else matters
-
Ghost-In-The-Shell-anime-name-person who's been spamming that phrase for like a year or so now - were you quoting a gay Metallica song?
Or, were you honestly trying to insinuate that this CG-cartoon-looking thing from a director I haven't cared about in over a decade is substantial, somehow?
Just curious. -
Ha Ha, always laugh at that one. Lord whatever his first name is.
-
The Wolfman trailer looks interesting. I like the casting. However, is someone going to reboot the 1932 version of FRANKENSTEIN yet again and cast Hopkins as Victor Frankenstein's father or (even better) Dr. Pretorious from "Bride of..." so sir Anthiny can hit the Universal horror reboot trifecta? Just kidding.
-
And one of the very few really talented director making blockbusters. The man is a pearl in the middle of swines.
