complete website FAIL!
-
Tried in firefox and IE, nothing
-
I got the screen where it says to select a city and a time, but I have not gotten the confirmation email yet.
No showings in Portland? That sucks -
All this hype for a shitty website. Good job Avatar.
-
Now the connection keeps timing out. When it does load, it is completely blank as to what theaters you can choose.
-
Fox dropped the ball on this one
-
Its a big hoax. The whole movie.
-
avatar day = fail
-
nope
-
Dammit!
-
Remind me not to get excited about this shit anymore.
-
Been trying in Chrome, too, and it seems the site has crashed. Totally inaccessible. Why would they offer tickets for the whole country... scratch that... WORLDWIDE from one tiny little website? Should have been done through the theaters like any other ticket.
-
Same thing as everyone else. Good job, Fox! Looks like all that planning and dedicated bandwidth paid off!
-
bullshit.
-
I mean seriously, dude.
-
FUCK YOU FOX. GOD DAMMIT CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT YOU FUCKERS?
-
I tried FireFox & Safari. Nothing. There's no list of theaters. If it was a plug-in that I don't have, I would see a broken link somewhere. But nothing. Now, I'm getting connection time-outs. Disappointing, Mr Cameron, disappointing.
-
what's up FOX!
-
lolz
-
Been trying since 2:58 pm EST
-
Okay, I thought it was just me. Still refreshing...

I gues they spent all the money on the movie instead of a properly hosted site.
-
Can't the individual IMAX theaters just post this information? Why go to ONE site?
-
That would be a big negative.
I have multiple copies of the website trying to load, hopefully one will get through. -

Avatar website crashes: geeks everywhere lose their f-ing minds!
by zardoz
Anyone else trying for the SF Metreon?
-
FUCK THIS.
What the fuckng FUCK? What an epic fail. I literally scheduled my entire fucking day around being by a computer at noon pst to get these motherfucking tickets. -
I am! Give me Give me Give me! Please?
-
maybe then I will get my tiks.
-
Yes I get a blank black screen where the list should be or now for the last 5 mins Im gettin timed out. Looks like the geeks are crashin servers once again! We've got nothing better to do on a Monday :P
-
WTF?
-
They sent out emails, and you could actually reserve tickets through an email. Much better.
-
Been trying 20 mins :(
-
I say we boycott the movie.
-
Dieeeeee..
-
Future technology and shuts the fuck down after two tickets are gotten. AICN which runs off of old Apple 2GS get's 10,000 post and is still kicking ass.
-
I didn't get a fucking e-mail and I registered on that site twice with two different e-mail addresses.
-
What with Cameron's legendary temper and demands of perfection, let us all hope that he gets wind of this and starts getting motherfuckers at Fox on the chopping block for this one.
-
EFF YOU FOX!!!

by pu11_the_pin
Hopefully this means something will happen soon?
-
Lots of new "fail" messages. Yay for Fox! They can't even market a film correctly anymore!
-
I remember getting an email, but all the tickets were gone cause all the fucking movie sites posted the info already.
-
Blank page
-
i mean, offer free tickets to avatar online at exactly 12pm noon.. hard to believe people had any interest.. totally would have expected it to go smoothly..
-
Maybe we can buy the tickets on ebay for $500 each?
-
Nothing in Houston, nothing in Portland, this doesn't bode well for me in lil' ol' Boise. Tell you what, Fox: next time you pull a stunt like this, just put up a list of participating theaters in advance so WE KNOW IF WE'RE WASTING OUR FUCKING TIME!!!
-
Just run the damned thing all weekend and not just 2 friggin shows
-
Black screen popped up by now...but then it sez its timed out again.

I was even given a confirmation screen on LA tickets, but no confirmation email with instructions. On the official site, there was a header after the "Tickets and Showtimes" link that prompted me to choose from the list of theatres below, but there werent any theatres listed. The screen was blank.
-
but I can't select any of them!!! FUCK!
-
This reminds me when I tried to order Phantom Menace tickets.
-
Aren't loading either. I got "2 to work where all I could get was the drop down menu for cities. Mine wasn't on there >:(
-
got onto the AMC Theaters website this morning and they were giving tickets away. You just had to sign up for them and they emailed me the tickets...
-
Well fuck this shit. FUCK IT.
Way to do something for the fans, FOX, you worthless pieces of shit.
Cameron should personally make sure there is another Avatar day and everyone on this fucking talkback who is supporting this overhyped clusterfuck should get a fucking golden ticket in the motherfucking mail. -
AMC sent out an email this morning for subscribers to reserve tickets at their IMAX locations. Good luck trying to sell them, seeing as they require photo ID to get in.
-
I wonder how many people in this thread have been bashing the movie in all the others? Neener neener. lol Be interesting to find out, though. Good luck, though. No stress here as I'm waiting to see the entire film.
-
Overated big time............
-
Trying to find theaters that are having it in LA
-
I saw some footage twice yesterday and am failing to understand the hype. But it's also possible that it's just not for me.
-
What the fuck is going on?
-
When, in the history of the internet, has a "limited time offer" website for something that was actually anticipated gone up and not crashed? I mean, I can't believe how shocked some people are about this. Sure it sucks, but if it would have gone smoothly, THAT would have been a surprise. And you know what? If I miss 16 minutes of out-of-context clips, then I'll just do the next best thing: watch the actual movie in December.
-
My wife frequents alot of coupon and deal sites. She said on SLickdeals.com, someone had said that hackers found a backdoor about 5am and started spreading it around, as it gave a means of generating the codes for the tickets. So by 1pm PST there are literally no tickets left to give out! This is second hand information but certainly sounds plausible. The following link should work once the servers are back up: http:rsvp.foxfilm.com/signup/1/chain/1
-
Minnesota is showing their footage as the Rosedale 14 fake Imax. There is a 6 pm and a 7 pm showing. Got my info in and saw a thank you screen!
-
...Seriously?
You know it might not be that good, right? Remember Cloverfield? -
Got my tickets for friday at 6:30 in birmingham, UK. wahoo!
-
Managed to select Showtime and theater then it went black again. DAMNIT
-
Def. pooched right now
-
I need something to believe in dammit.
-
I'm only complaining because I hope somebody at Fox sees all of this bad PR they are generating. I tried to excited about this movie, but after so many fails, I think I'll just hate on it as much as possible until its out.
-
fucking can't even get onto the main site anyways.
-
They seem to be more on the ball there.
-
http://rsvp.foxfilm.com/signup/1 - It took half an hour of reloading that page, but it eventually loaded correctly for me. Now waiting for my confirmation email!
-
Aug 17, 2009 2:35:08 PM CDT

... I got into the 6:00pm in Burbank, Ca. I got the confirmation message saying I would get an e-mail with details soon, anyway. We'll see. They were defintely getting hammered like no one's business.
-
The correct one is: www.eyeballsbefucked.com
-
Oh yes it does... Crashing your websites in 2009.
Nothing else matters. -
The main Avatarmovie.com link was jacked from the moment the clock hit 12, but the rsvp.foxfilm.com link did eventually pay off. Still haven't gotten a confirmation email, though. I re-registered through the Regal Cinemas site www.regcinemas.com and had a smoother process.
-
Everything all bogged down, and traffic is crashing the site.
-
for tickets in Toronto, telling me I should get an e-mail shortly. But until I get that e-mail, I hardly feel safe. Grarrgghh.
-
Tried that, managed to register for 2 tix. Now, hopefully, I get the confirmation email.
-
And still waiting.
-
it has crashed
-
If your IMAX theater is Regal/United Artists, get your tickets through their site "www.regmovies.com"-working fine!
-
Thanks Fox.
-
I'm reporting live from the Unicorn Lounge at DragonMannn's Wild Kingdom FUResort and there are tickets available now. Look for the kiosk below the rotating FOX logo. Special thanks to JC for sponsoring the event, caught a sight of him as a muscular timberwolf earlier.
-
"Thank you for registering! You should receive an email shortly with your registration ID." Does that mean I got tix? Does that mean that anyone who registered is "eligible" to go, but it's first-come, first served?
-
to kill two people at the local screening, take their fucking tickets and ids and become them like a chameleon.
-
wtf....guess I will be seeing it on shitty amc imax light
does this also mean that they will be showing christmas carol over Avatar in Dec??? if so, hugh mistake.... -

this whole stunt was just to see how well the movie was tracking and now that the sites are crashing they have their answer...good job fanboys!!
-
For the AMC link/backdoor links.
-
First come first serve just breaks things.
-
waste of time. if the trailer looks good i'll see it
-
NO CHICAGO?
-
Great technology used for the movie: lousy for the website.
-
Only at the scotiabank (paramount) theatre, and only two show times: 6:15 and 7:15.
-
Re-watching Ferngully on VHS tonight, I understand Cameron's new project is intended to reboot the franchise.
-
Playing on 4 screens in 2 theaters in Orlando. Neither is the real, 6 story tall imax. Better than nothing though.

Nothing in Vancouver!?! Are you fucking kidding!?!
by atomicroboticzombiewearwolf
What the fuck Fox? No Vancouver screening? Really? Wow!
-
James Cameron is getting a phone call about this. I'd hate to be the guy breaking the news to him.
-
What a waste of time.
-
the internet clearly made way for TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION.
-
The site wasn't really online until 2:10 pm anyway, as far as I could tell. Got my tickets!
-
link posted above, but still don't see a theatre list yet, or showtimes.
-
guys... still down including the back door.. love to know who is screwing up the works... i owned an ad agency and we built alot of film sites so i know the tech side a bit and smacks of servers shutting down because of traffic... anybody else getting in?

-
Add more fucking preview times and more fucking locations you shitheads. All we want to do is support your fucking movie and you are fucking us all in our asses when clearly it is our EYEBALLS that we desire to have penetrated.
-
I almost got all my info entered in then the fucking website goes down! EFF THIS!!!
-
I've been hitting avatarmovie.com and the AMC backdoor link for 48min now and I haven't gotten past as error page. *Sigh* For those who have been able to get through, did you happen to see Seattle on the list?
-
I really want to see if thats a site or not, but I'm at work and worried about what it could be. If not will someone tell me I'll go buy it.
-
This preview better make with a handy for all this bullshit.
-
But is that just a list of AMC theaters showing it? Not the IMAX? Because if so thats gayer then gay. Wait fuck the IMAX near me is with AMC. Fuck guess Christmas Carol for the win, no wonder the fucking train is stopping here this weekend.

Can anyone confirm if the chain 2 cities are different than chain 1?

just to get a crack at tix, like QT Fests. Same thing happened, phone system crashed and all I got was a useless newsletter, about 2 issues a year.
-
And just when I entered my information, the page switched up on me and made all the text fields disappear.
-
It's the website copyright text with a black window where the animation should be. Stay tuned folks, this is almost as riveting as live Big Brother coverage...
-
As soon as I join in with everyone else about how I can't get into the site BOOM! I get in. Seattle was on the list and just filled out my RSVP and got a confirmation on the page saying: Thank you for registering! You should receive an email shortly with your registration ID.
-
like they did not anticipate this shit happening especially with an article in USA Today?

And their shitty ass Liemax theaters. Regardless...I was able to RSVP, just awaiting the email.

An endless stream of errors...

So disappointing...

then got an error page

For Final Destination 3D, that was so easy!!!

I'm so fucking happy I got into the Citywalk IMAX in LA! I'll see you nerds there! I think im more excited about winning with this damn fiasco than the actual footage!

clicked it and it crashed.

Nothing personal, but I hope you all die.

I am such a fool. It took me until just one minute ago to finally get to the page with the specific theaters and showtimes. Unfortunately I then realized even though it SAYS it is playing in Boston it is actually playing in two theaters that I don't have access to and not in Boston at all.

Waiting for an email from Fox... hope it worked !

Strangely enough, all this bitching will equal to more asses in seats. You know this. You have forseen it.

Yeah, it's not playing at the real film IMAX screen, only on the fake, smaller digital IMAX. MPLS isn't big enough to get one of the IMAX film prints, which I'm guessing they only made 2?

....but the ticketing subsite is still timing out or erroring
-
Just as I started to suspect, no showings for my city. I just wasted my time because they couldn't be bothered to tell us ahead of time where it would be showing. Fuck 'em.
-
Hate each other? Why are they having these two films overlap each other? I'm pretty sure James got to pick the day his movie was released. Why even have these two movies so close to each other? You think they would have worked something better out.
-
The screening is clearly serving as that aswell. They know there is interest out there. My city isn't screening the 15 so I'm screwed on that anyways. But man oh man, I still can't wait for the theatrical trailer.

I JUST SUCKED OFF A THEATRE MANAGER FOR MY TICKET!!!
by carlthormark1978
He said he'd throw in free popcorn and drinks if I snowballed him but I politely declined so as to retain my dignity.
-
the next level of total fucking destruction:A V A T A R. FUCKING YOUR EYEBALLS IN 2009.
-
...per post kickback on this thread? lol Sorry guys, I think this thread is pretty dang funny for anyone not being crazy fanboyish about this film. And I still want to know how many of the people complaining about not getting tickets were bashing in the other thread. Ahhhh, good times.
-
oops.. that's the listing of theaters and seats available.. little garbled, sorry :)
-
But you guys really like to hear yourselves say "Fuck." Get over it, you'll see the movie eventually, and even then you probably won't like it and come here and tell everyone how much thefuckingmoviefuckingfucksickedlikeafuckingsuckfuck.

I got a page with a list of theaters sectioned off by state
by wes from ny
then i tried to open a second link to this page to report it and that page disappeared
sine then
i get stuck loading the page that never opens -
like it or not. But in the public eye, that's all that matters.
-
How the fuck do IMAX theaters that show nothing but National Geographic movies and crap like Fly Me To the Moon stay in buisness? Someone show me the mission statement.

I am on the AMC Moviewatcher list and got an email when I got to work to register via the foxfilm.com link. I got 2 tickets for 2 different showings and when I told my friend to try an hour later it said it was sold out.
-
I have never talked shit about you; never made personal attacks on you; never done anything except be grateful for this site and all its "cool news" for YEARS. But I swear to God, for all the pissing and moaning you and this site have done over perceived injustices to the geek world in the past, and all the fucking ass-kissing you and this site have done to King Cameron in anticipation of this film, you had better reach deep down inside and find some righteous geek fury over this shit.
The people on this site are the same exact people Cameron needs to make this film a hit. I have been telling my friends about this movie for months, and most of them have no idea what the fuck I am talking about, but you can bet your ass that when I get done telling them they are stoked to see this shit. For all the positive word-of-mouth buzz that has been generated by this site and its ARMY of regulars, you had better fucking get on the phone or get on the computer or whatever the fuck it is that you do and raise some fucking hell. -
even though we have a fucking digital IMAX. Fuck, I hate this town!

by carlthormark1978

Yesterday, AMC sent me an email which allowed me to reserve 2 tickets. I entered some basic info at the link, and a confirmation email arrived this morning.
-
Fucking A right ... guys this is total bullshit and i swear i wouldnt make that big a deal if i hadnt promised my son and daughter we would go...
-
100% correct. Further, it shows Fox that whatever Cameron is doing is working. Which means there will probably be a ton more wacky fun stuff like this before the movie gets released.
-
im trying to get in at the bridge /howard hughes center la

$300 million dollars and it's a glorified fantasy for people who need to imagine themselves as sexually developed animal people disguised as a pro-environment allegory? Why?

Piss off, Fox.Take your 3D muppet shitfest and get out of my sight.
-
How is this not showing in my state? How the fuck is this missing a fucking state?
-
I was able to get into the system early by fluke chance. I registered for the tickets this morning. It took about 4 hours to get the email confirmation.
-
anyone know whether the tickets are available in India?
-
Why the hell didn't I get any "updates"? This is all one big fucking bullshit scam.
-
what if...just what if...this does turn out to be the over-hyped turd I reckon it will be?You, sir, are going to look very, VERY stupid.
-
I will buy twenty tickets to Christmas Carol and burn every one of them just to help it beat the hell out of this on its opening weekend.
-
They don't like you. Sorry.
-
Seems we're doing it right over here in New Zealand, tickets are on a first come first served basis at my local screen, and due to time differences etc. that's a good 7 hours before Los Angeles wakes up. I'll let you know if it's worth the wait...
-
This aint right. I have given up my lunch break trying to get tickets. Now I will probably get a migraine from having to be stuck on this computer all day with the only break coming when I have to take a piss. Damnit Jim.
-
I can click on "Tickets and Showtimes" which gives me a list of cities and theatres. I click on the theatre of my choice and am sent to the theatre's website. On a side-bar is a link for Avatar preview. That link, as far as I can tell, tries to take me to the backdoor link (http://rsvp.foxfilm.com/signup/1/chain/3) for Canada, but times out.So, no, after 1.5 hours no tickets. I'm done! Thanks for literally nothing Fox!
-
Chicago is on. Awaiting confirmation email. The seats available count was at 350 when I FINALLY got through. Anyone else?
-
Aug 17, 2009 3:40:35 PM CDT
Are there really that many people scrambling to get this tickets
by tile_mcgillus
This is insane. What are they hosting for free on Angelfire or some shit?
-
And what did I ever do to them except talk up their fucking movie based on faith? And this is the thanks I get? I would literally kick James Cameron in the sack if he were standing in front of me right now.
-
anyone know whether the tickets are available in India???
-
I am just wondering are you paying full price for this?
-
I can't believe I have wasted almost two hours of my life trying to get some tickes...
-
The tickets are free.
-
...in the UK already (different websites). Roll on Friday!!
Looks to me like the ticketing portion of the main site has well and truly crashed, must be frustrating as hell if you're trying to get a ticket. -
For every tab you open and time you press resend, it seems to the fox server like a unique user. That's like 100 times more traffic than the number of people trying to get tickets. That's why the crash. Is anybody suprised however..it's Avatar!!!!!
-
James Cameron and Tom Rothman are several beers to the good, draped over each other's shoulders and weeping with laughter at everyone here...
-
The main page works awesomely now and the ticketing page was up for a little while. Now when I try to access the ticketing page I get this: "Warning: file_get_contents(http://rsvp.foxfilm.com/rsvp/xml/movie/1) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 500 Internal Server Error in /content/avatarmovie.com/html/ticketing/index.php on line 19

I was soooo close!!! -
I made it to the RSVP and clicked it only to be taken to a blank white page.
-
Just wanted to post in this legendary talkback. Carry on good sirs!
-
Got in at 3pm est no problem.
-
Or just fucking exercise your god damn kid.
-
Fuck me, Empire and Total Film are all out, but is there another place that works?
-
after I booked 8 tickets with 4 different email addresses. What a clusterfuck.
-
On the home page? Not digging it.
-
in 2009!"
-
Is that the last time Cameron made a film, there was no internets.
-
DIS IS BULL SHIT!
-
Stop taking everything so personally. Come opening day whether the movie good or bad all will be forgiven by you all anyway.
-
2 tix for each showtime - got confirmation emails and everything
-
Yay me!
-
I think I managed to get my name in almost an hour in, but I don't know yet... no confirmation email.
avatarmovie.com wasn't technically "down", rsvp.foxfilm.com was. Unfortunately, avatarmovie.com was retrieving xml data from there using http (their php dumped an error).
Single point of failure = FOX. -
Yea I guess. I like it. Reminds me of the great films of the past. Kind of grand, kind of fantastical, and magical. A little like waiting in the line for E.T. at Universal Studios... you know, when it was still there.
-
Have any of you considered the fact that you impatient asses trying to get tickets to multiple shows with multiple email addresses is actually the problem!?! lol I mean, come on guys.
-
right about now. I imagine a couple of people will be refreshing their resumes.
-
Your, not you. lol
-
Not entirely true. There was a form of Internet when Titanic came out.
-
It took almost an hour through the backdoor sites starting at 4:00 EST (after realizing the avatar site wasn't going to give it up), and few a teases where a drop down box for the city would show up but not allow you to select anything. But I finally got to a page to enter my name and email and # tix (2 max). The confirmation email showed up in my inbox less than 10 minutes later.
-
If fox had announced which theaters it was a in like last week then a lot of the server problems wouldve been solved cause those of us who live in states or countries that are being excluded wouldnt have bothered hitting the website......unless its a bait and switch and more cities will be added due to demand or they will start charging tickets to said program.
-
I'm in @ 7PM
-
London Imax 10am Friday. That is all.
-
http://tinyurl.com/kn5k54 Bad press is good press, my friends.
-
I do believe that you are damn right. There's one thing that no one wants to do and that's piss off JC because he will roar and scream, rip your eyes out and laugh as you stumble out of the room.
Somewhere James Cameron is murdering someone in the publicity department. -
first off, anyone who knows anything about the internet should know that the site was gonna crash. doesn't matter who put up the site, the strain of thirty million fanboys trying to access it would kill the damn server instantly. why, i have no idea, since i'd rather have eyeballs fried on peanut oil than see any more of cameron's movies. can't suppress a chuckle at an AICN person not being able to get through.
-
Well if this was just a publicity stunt well screw that Im not even wasting my time or money on avatar....screw this
-
*storms off*
-
My confirmation email just arrived.
-
Told i'd recieve confirmation email shortly. That was 2 hours ago. Anyone else in New York have an issue?
-
"Cameron has spent fourteen years in development and four years in production on "Avatar," and he is determined that by the time the movie opens in December, audiences will be as excited to visit the planet Pandora as they were to see some boat sink."
Some boat?! What kind of fucked up shit is that!? -
Insensitivity FTW!!!!
-
Yeah, I got that same situation, where no list came up.
However, that only lasted a short while before the entire site crashed. -
Episode will be called?
-
....and still waiting for email... {not holding breath}
-
...tickets or not! There will be blood!
-
Wouldn't it be great if they just called it "Avatar"? lol
-
Sigh.
-
..then everything would be fine. *cough* Actually, still a surprisingly in bad taste comment. And yeah! My geek uncle was on Prodigy in 93. I remember thinking it was kind of silly and asking him to "load" Doom. lol
-

Two tickets was what I needed. Good luck to everyone else.
-
And the whole goddamned ship sunk on me. I never got a confirmation email and never reached that level ever again.
-
They are going to make it some reference to eyeball fucking.
-
Got so close to registering through the backdoor like 5 times only to have it crash before completion. (talk about coitus interruptus!) See you geeks at the riots, I mean screenings on Friday!
-
The penalties for such acts, although RARELY enforced - or enforceable - are actually quite stiff. It will be interesting to see what happens WHEN footage turns up on teh internets. But more interesting than that, to me anyway, is the up front warning that they will be confiscating devices if you're caught. Let's hope there's a dedicated talkback so we can hear all the fun stories of boxing matches breaking out in theaters. Woo-hoo!
-
...around 12:30 and got the Fox RSVP confirmation screen. Still no e-mails, though.
-
And they'll promote it by doing a pre-release of the first segment a week early. Ha!
-
the theaters anyway. Chances are if there are still seats unclaimed(likely) due to the overregistering they might let people in anyway. Just a hunch thought but I hope I'm not wrong.
-
I've been to a lot of those preview screenings. During the first Transformers, the guys walked up and down the aisles many times to make sure people weren't filming it.
-
Any previews of A Christmas Carol? No? OHHH a fucking train is coming to town this weekend. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I'll be there.
-
...had better get their wallets ready. Because all those people who registered 73 times and received multiple sets of tickets will be laughing maniacally as they post the to Craigslist and ebay.
-
LA had 4 separate "blocks" of listed theaters. It listed "Los Angeles" with a bunch of theaters, then went to another CA city, so I figured that I'd see all of the LA theaters.
NOPE!
I went back to double check and Los Angeles was listed 4 times, each with different theaters.
LAME! -
Whats the fucking deal with him and Zemeckis? Like sinice they both want to push cinema over the edge and all.

-
If you're buying tickets for 15 minutes of a movie coming out in december on craigslist or ebay you really need to be shoved back into the locker the jocks put you in in high school.
-
did Cameron pay Harry for this promotion?
-
I started listening to this song:
Now everybody knows all about my boobs (they're okay!) But no one ever gave a toss about my tush (no way!) Which is a pity, you'll love my silly buns (my silly buns) You know a girl like me, I bake 'em in in the sun (bake 'em in the sun)
Cause when I look around I see some hot juice Looking for something extra special to hold on to And when I hit the ground I'm on the dance floor Everybody come with me and do the guided tour
Take a long, good look at my ass How long you think you'd last? How long you think you'd last? Take a long, good look at my ass My ass How long you think you'd last?
Now everybody wanna tell tell the truth (tell the truth) About my ass and how I'm supposed to spend my youth (spend my youth) They point their finger, just pointing everyday (everyday) You wanna know just what my ass has got to say? (it says hey!)
And many years from now, when I'm a proper MILF Responsible and friendly to thy neighbour Pick up the kids from school and buy a box of milk My figure's getting floppy, but I still find time to sing, I still find time to sing:
Take a long, good look at my ass How long you think you'd last How long you think you'd last Take a long, good look at my ass My ass - How long you think you'd last
Ahhh, dead snow was a great movie. -
...do you honestly believe that it's not going to happen?
-
OMG that's a new one!! Holy shit nobody has ever said that before!!! lol Sorry, dude. Needed to be pointed out.
-
stupid haters...
-
HAS TO FUCKING SHOW THE FOOTAGE ONLINE! THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT! I'VE FUCKING WAITED TIL THE APPROPRIATE TIME AND I STILL CAN'T FUCKING GET THE TICKETS! FOX, OPEN YOUR FUCKING HEADS AND GET THE LINKS WORKING!
-
You may be right. If one needs photo ID to pickup tickets, I'm guessing they are not transferrable so if someone can't go, the seat is empty. They may allow rush seating.Jaka, be wary of buying tickets as they may not be transferrable and all you are buying is some dude's printed email.
-
pretty awesome. It was here in San Antonio last weekend. Though I must admit I was more interested in the authentic documents written by Charles Dickens than the rest of the train. The 3D preview was amazing though. Even though I don't like the character design on the "Ghost of Christmas Past".
-
Very disappointed.
I waited all day to go to the avatarmovie site to get my imax tickets for Toronto. and I wasted 3 hours of my time being timed out. I don't think Cameron would like this and I'm disappointed that the proper bandwidth couldn't be set up ahead of time to allow the incoming traffic to reserve there ticket for the 21st. I even tried from Toronto Cineplex and it didn't work, I must have filled in my name info like 20 times and clicked RSVP to only be timed out again!
Very very disappointed and I hope fox marketing does something because you have allot of disappointed fans , and these are the people that generate the advance hype to BRAND a film like this. -

Will I buy tickets for this preview. At this point, I will probably buy a ticket for another movie in December and then sneak in to see Avatar. I want to see the movie, but at this point I don't even want to spend a fucking penny on it.
-
http://www.isujay.com/avatar
very few links are working, Hawaii for ex. -
The point is, you'd have a much better choice to get in WITHOUT the ticket by arriving early then by overpaying for a non-transferable one. So be wise.
-
try to see if there is a version of the avatars official site in your home country.u can get your tickets from your site there, since the foreign avatar sites seem to work
for instance www.avatarmovie.gr is the greek domain official site of the movie.it works fine and i just got my tickets from there.so check to see if the same applies for your country. -

My GEOCITIES site back in the day could handle more traffic

than this piece of shit.
-
Because you get two tickets, right? Therefore, each time someone was able to get them they have one to sell. Sucks, but that's how it is. I worked for a ticket broker for a few years and we would regularly sell the one extra ticket, escort the client into the arena, and leave.
-
I'm not going to sit at my computer and refresh for the next two hours though just so I can see 20 minutes of something a couple months early.
-
... a recent confirmation e-mail for getting through a while back? I'm just wondering if "Successful website submittal + No Confirmation E-Mail Yet = Major Boning".
-
I agree with you. This someone fuel by his own fucking hype just for a news story how so many fucking fans were in droves to see a glimpse of Avatar and couldn't! Fuck James Cameron!
-
I acutally received an e-mail this morning from AMC offering the tickets. It gave a link to Fox which doesn't work anymore. Good luck everyone!
http://view.mail.amcentertainment.com/?j=fe921d767462047d72&m=fef51178716702&ls=fdf01074776304757d14757c&jb=ffcf14&WT.mc_id=Avatar_email_August_2009_http%3a%2f%2fview.mail.amcentertainment.com%2f%3fj%3dfe921d767462047d72%26m%3d%25%25ex2%3bMemberID%25%25%26ls%3d%25%25ex2%3blistsubid%25%25%26jb%3d%25%25ex2%3b_JobSubscriberBatchID%25%25 -
For sure there may be tickets available again before now and the 21st. And I hope they sort out the people who got multiple sets of tickets and take them back. But I really doubt that theaters will be giving people tickets the day of the showing. Look at the madness created already. Nobody wants that mess to happen in the "real world" regardless of bad press being good press. Theater riots - never good.
-
SUCKERS!!
you eyballs are getting divorced and seperated about now
MASSIVE FAIL -
I GOT THROUGH!!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU "destructive"! -
Finally got tickets! Site seems to be going pretty smooth at the moment.
-
Even Cameron hasn't mastered the powers of time travel... yet... I think.
-
that worked a beaut!
-
After 2.5 hours straight, I just tried the backdoor link again, and all of the sudden it worked smoothly. Took about 30 seconds for the confirmation to appear after clicking on "RSVP" - only click everything once or it might crash.
-
... Cameron has completed removing heads.
-
now, i suppose you could scalp your "+1" or whatever, for someone to join you, but would someone reallywant to go in with somebody who just raped their wallet with shameless profiteering?
-
What the fuck is going on? WORK!
-
I was MOSTLY referring to the mention by someone in this talkback that they received a pair of tickets to more than one showing. In that case, you go the first time, sell the second one, escort them in and leave. However, yes. I think it's pretty clear that there are some people here who would gladly hang with the person who just raped their wallet to get into one of these previews. Pretty crazy, actually.
-
don't know how, but i did. used that backdoor link that was posted awhile back. email confirmation is in my inbox. now the trick is finding a cheap way to get from chicago to barrington on friday. fuck them for not making it at navy pier imax...
-
But from empireonline.com
Awesome. -
The AMC site was working, but now it seems to be hanging again.
-
You know, everyone's complaining at how hyped this movie is... but I haven't seen any actual hype outside of this site. Everyone's so eager to hype it and then bring it down while screaming "TOO MUCH HYPE!". It's bizarre.
-
This Site is currently unavailable for RSVP. Try Again Later.
Really fucked up way of doing things, Fox. -
I'm goin on my 4th hour of trying to get a fucking ticket.....I'm officialy a loser now...:(
-
what the fuck is going on here!
-
As I said in one of the other TalkBacks, I saw a HUGE amount of coverage of the ComiCon panel on NON-geek news sites. Otherwise, AICN is always really hipey (ha!) regarding projects like this. It's what makes the site fun and frustrating in equal measures.

I am going to the 6PM showing. I'm thinking a dinner and a blowjob might be in order.
Any females interested lol ?
(In case you are wondering I am only being semi-sarcastic). -
Just keeps giving the same "internal server error message". DANG IT!
-
the whole thing is a fuckfest, fox has just fucked the hardcore fans in their butts with their amateur, incompetent way of organizing the avatar day.
Harry should open a topic about this shit,he also has camerons email,he should contact him and inform him about this failure.come on Harrry,do it,studios and creators should give some respect to the hardcore fans ffs -

Fuck YOOUUU HEWER
I was really excited to get these tickets and get a chance to see this Friday. This really sucks. Thanks for nothing. -
...I am bored with nothing to do but follow this thread today. It's actually been pretty entertaining.
-
Way to go FOX...
-
15 minutes after I supposedly got my tickets. This is like a goddamn lottery.
-
Awaiting the e-mail... apparently it'll take around 2 hours??? If so I gotta sit tight!
-
Did anyone get into the 6 or 7 in Burbank, Ca.? If so, did you receive an e-mail confirmation yet?
-
...because they're comparing IP addresses and taking multiple tickets back. lol I jest, of course. Hey, wouldn't you guys rather get some kind of error message than a big nothing? It does say to try again.
-
jesus fucking christ !!!

EFF THIS SHIT!!! EFF OT!!!!

out there can get me the names and addresses of the people scalping tickets online, please let me know so I can go to their houses and kill them.

This shit isn't working - Not a good way to start the promotion
by rectalblowout
Cameron right now is sending a hit squad to take out the fuckers responsible for this preventable disaster. Didn't they expect a shit load of people trying to get tickets? I figured it would be a total clusterfuck of chaos. Someone is getting beaten within grabbing distance of Cameron right now.
-
... as I don't have an e-mail yet, and it says I have already registered. Could it be that they're filling theatres BEFORE sending e-mails out? That wouldn't seem to jive with how quickly people are getting other e-mails, though.
-
yeah baby!
-
I told ya there'd be tickets for sale online. lol Fox may be able to get them off of ebay and/or craigslist (or stop them from being posted under the exact name), but it's very doubtful they'll be able to stop the process from taking place as a whole. Once you have a sellers email you don't need their services and it's really not difficult in geekland to post them without using the exact name of the movie or the director involved.
-
Ok well I got in after about an hour + of clicking "refresh." Put in my info and got the notice that I would be receiving an e-mail with my registration ID... so not confirmed yet, but it looks like if you stick with it, you'll at least get through.

Oh Happy DAY!!!!

the screening preview, the same which was shown in comicon.the trailer which will also premiere in 21,it has nothing to do with the theaters.
-
Guys just logged on thru the main site. At least 120 tickets left for both showings in Burbank as of 3 minutes ago. Keeep trying!!!! Good Luck Everyone!!!!
-
I got an e-mail from AMC with a link. I registered at about 6:45 this morning. The confirmation arrived at 11:15am. No problems. Hopefully the screenings themselves are well organized.
-
... if they've started adding show times yet? That could be why more people are getting in. *shrug*
-
the screening preview, the same which was shown in comicon.the trailer which will also premiere in 21,it has nothing to do with the theatrical mini preview of the movie.thats why all the people here are crazy about these tickets.
-
Fems respons below if necessary.
IF TOO MUCH DEMAND WILL START TICKETING ON FIRST CUM FIRST SERVE BASIS. -
Made it through the registration this time, waiting for my confirmation email. Fingers crossed!
-
I got in as well! For some reason, the main page won't link to the pages for the Orlando Waterford showings, just to regmovies.com. I got to it by choosing one of the other Florida dates that worked and then choosing Orlando from the drop down, then clicking on 'Other Screenings' at the bottom. If the main page stops working, try it from here (Jax screening):
http://rsvp.foxfilm.com/signup/1?screening=68

Where the fuck are you on all this shit? Seriously, man. Speak up. You have personally invested countless hours to hype the hell out of this film and it looks like 90% of the people from AICN have gotten completely fucked in the ass over this bullshit.
We were helping you to hype this fucking monster before most people even knew what the hell it was--shit, most people STILL don't knwo what it is--and now most of us who LIVE IN CITIES WHERE THE PREVIEWS ARE SHOWING are not going to be able to see it.
I signed up TWICE for e-mail updates and received NOTHING. I was on the computer at noon pst LIKE I WAS TOLD TO BE, and still I got nothing. This shit is not right.
Time for you to step up to the plate and go to bat for us, Harry. Seriously. Studios know the power you have to sway public opinion among key demographics...people can laugh but there is a reason why numerous movies and tv shows have spoofed the sway that you DO possess...it is time for you to cash in on that clout and put your fucking foot down. This was DESIGNED to be a disaster; FOX KNEW this shit would happen, and as many have already said, bad press is still press. "Avatar Day" is guaranteed to make the entertainment news across the spectrum because of this debacle. This is nothing more than FOX getting free publicity by taking a ride on the backs of the fans who they NEED to make this film profitable for them. Time to stand up for us, Harry, or this site, and all your clout, and all your many connections, aren't worth the dog shit I stepped in yesterday afternoon. -
That's why I've been online since noon. The site is BACK UP!!
-
Finally....still a huge fucking FAIL for Fox. They suck balls.
-
its showing the theatres and how many tickets left but the links to the theatres show nothing about getting the tickets? did they plan this ? do the theatres even know the movie is screening lol?
-
Yes!!! I just got mine through the main website for AMC in Burbank, CA!!!!
-
And was able to regsiter! Now just waiting for the confirmation email.
-
It happening for everyone except ME!
-
where dp u register?? it send you to cineplex site!!??
-
And that they'll be searching people, seizing their equipment (which will include cell phones as they take video) and prosecuting people if caught filming? lol I was just sitting here thinking about that. I betcha there's a bunch of theaters getting angry calls right now going, "WTH?!?!". lol
-
I'm in the uk and i've just spent the last 3 hours trying to get tickets..twice i got a list of USA and Canada cinemas??????? No UK ones?? Can someone please confirm that this was just for the USA as i think i have lost my mind LOL
-
Hurry!!!! Main site is up. There are just 50 seats left for 6pm showing in Burbank, CA!!!!!!
-
I knew everything was going to be ok.
-
After a fucking ridiculous battle throughout the day, I just used the link destructive posted and (after a dozen attempts), I just rsvp'd for the 6pm and 7pm Denver for Friday. AND.......Just now got two confirmation emails for CONFIRMED, FREE TICKETS. THAT was fucking ridiculous. But, mission accomplished.
-
Site is up and running again, tix still avail for the 6:00pm at Universal Citywalk but both Burbanks are unavail now.
-
but all it reads is location. I scroll to los angeles and it fucking blank! WTF! WORK GOD DAMN IT!
-
"Avatards." Yeah, it's been use before, but it would be too good for Trey and Matt to resist.
-
and it counts down the tickets available. But I doubt I'll get a confirmation email. God doesn't love me that much.
-
Someone earlier mentioned using empireonline.com to get their tickets. Here is the main page and instructions for London that I found:
http://www.empireonline.com/screening/avatar.asp -
they've been fucked!" in Cartmans voice.
-
confirmation for Kennesaw, GA Tickets. It took an hour and a half to get through and then 30 minutes for the e-mail. Good luck to the rest of you.
-
Thanks for everyones emotional support during a truamatic time.
-
I think. I clicked on the emeryville 2 showings registered for them. The refreshed the theaters page to see what seats were left out of curiosity. All of a sudden San Francisco Metreon is listed with 2 shows so I signed up for those since I live in SF. Now I got to wait for the email.
-
like kong.
-
I still haven't gotten mine. Registered about an hour ago and re-registered about 20 minutes ago.
-
Has anyone gotten theirs? How long does it take?
-
go go go go
-
Thank God, finally got my confirmation email. I don't even know why that fucking site says Houston though. The theaters aren't even in Houston, ones in Sugarland and the other is on the way to Galveston. Fuck A Christmas Carol, I was kind of interested in it, but after realizing that "A Christmas Carol" is the reason I have to drive fucking an hour to see the preview and most likely the movie. Fuck "A Christmas Carol" for taking all the good IMAX. I'm boycotting that fucking film.
-
still waiting for mine....going on 15 minutes now...
-
I'm just curious: when did the "worldwide" become only the United States and Canada? What about some other English-speaking cities, like London or Sydney? Speaking as a resident of England, I'm somewhat disappointed, to say the least.
-
Several of the links go to the main movie chain web page. Just ignore and click on some other listing that goes to the fox.rsvp.com site. Then choose Toronto or Montreal from the drop down at the top to get to working links for Canada. Here's a direct link to get you started if you are confused:
http://rsvp.foxfilm.com/signup/1?screening=189
This is to a Seattle screening but just pick your city and 'Other Screenings' to have it show you the ones you want. It's all in the scripting so the URL isn't changing. I can't figure out the direct URL at the moment. -
No confirmation email yet... arrgh
-
For those of you waiting, thumb meet ass...
-
Oh, well. I reserved a bunch of tickets at theatres across the US so that others won't be able to see it. Ain't I a fucker?

Monday August 17
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Fans seeking free tickets to a sneak-peek at the 3D sci-fi adventure "Avatar" have crashed the Web site for the upcoming James Cameron film.
Visitors to the site Monday who clicked to get tickets to a free 15-minute preview scheduled for Friday instead got an error message.
A representative for 20th Century Fox said the site was being repaired. The studio will unveil the film's trailer in theaters and online Friday, and fans who score tickets for special showings at 3D theaters across the globe will see extended previews.

I mean... really? Everyone I talked to who saw this shit at SDCC said it was actually kind of awkward afterwards because it really wasn't all that great. Of course the fanboys continued slobbering, but the general consenus is that it's just a movie. Nothing special at all.
-
The web site just came on!!
Get your now...Roger in San Diego -
So that they could get some media out of it. What a fucking joke.
-
Fox is scrambling to get a regular, conventional trailer edited together by the weekend?
-
Coming out this weekend on Basterds.
-
just send me the fucking email! i can smell my flesh on my legs burning from this fucking laptop. 4 hours is more than enough! lets go!
-
does that mean the whole film is NOT in 3D? what the fuck does that mean???
-
NONE IN Sacramento. We have several 3d screens(one a stone's throw from my house) and 2 regional IMAX 3D screens. Yet... not one participating in Avatar day. Under Sacramento it lists..
Stockton - Not Sacramento.Check.
El Dorado Hills - Not Sacramento, not even Folsom. Check
Fairfield - Not remotely Sacramento. Check.
Matter of fact, not a SINGLE 916 phone number in the bunch. Why did they name that section Sacramento?? THIS SUCKS. I'm taking my eyeball condoms back immediately for a refund. If they're both still sealed, will Walgreen's refund my money? -
I waited for a couple of hours just to find out that it wasnt even screening anywhere near where i live......thats why im pissed They couldve released a list of theaters last week, less people on the servers btw might not have crashed, i was tempted to reserve tickets i wasnt going to use ..but instead ill just not be seeing avatar unless something changes..thats my bad for thinking that Fox actually gave a damn for fans....
-
I got through too! Booya. Unbelievable. I didnt get the confirmation email yet though but I feel better about my chances. Guess we'll find out soon.
-
Forget the fact that the site doesn't work (and I reeeeeeally wouldn't want to be the guy describing THAT to James Cameron today). How can there be shows in fucking CALGARY and not here? I suspect this has something to do with the fact that the management of the local IMAX-equipped Cineplex theaters simply couldn't give a rat's ass about anything (and there's plenty of evidence of that beyond this particular travesty), but I still want to know who to complain to. Appalling.
-
FRESH OFF THE GRILL!
-
doesn't work
-
I dont know about any of the ones in Houston, but the AM Firewheel in Garland is a fake IMAX screen. It'll still be cool in 3-D, but just dont expect a 72x53 ft tall screen. It'll be the 29x58 ft IMAX.
Fair warning -
This is why I don't keep guns in the house
-
Waiting for an email. HOPE IT'S NOT LIKE MR. BEAK'S FORMULA. RACIST BASTARD!

Did you take out the space that magically ended up in the URL I posted? :-D Or go to the main page and hover your mouse of the other sites to see the real URL in your browser's status bar to randomly choose your own.

Once again, over-hyping something will prove to be the major downfall of a movie. No way could this movie live up to anything said about it from the "game changing" aspects of it to "the first feature James Cameron has made since Titanic" expectations. Too bad too. Oh well. Gone are the days movies sneak up on us. Remember Star Wars? I'm talking the original, no-episode-IV-bullshit movie called "Star Wars" that came out of nowhere in 1977 and took the world by storm. It probably would have failed if the hype machine was in full force like it is today nearly TWO YEARS before the movie is even released. Come on...
-
ristmas Carol train morph photos. lol
-
My eyeballs are drunk and waiting to be fucked hard.
-
is 3D.
-
it appears. But I don't want my eye-balls just fucked hard, you gotta mix it up a bit cuz if you go hard the whole time it gets a little boring... Ya know?
-
I didn't. Phew! It's working! It's WORKING! Thank you, Master m0reta! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
-
James Cameron can't avoid the hype, his movies make too much money.
BTW - Also waiting for confirmation in LA. -
contact you with a #?

The quantities left are no longer shown. Is it all sold out? What happens if you RSVP now? Someone try it.

I got my confirmation email maybe an hour or so ago for one of the LA screenings. Registered on the site around 12:20 after refereshing the page a TON of times.

of being the savior of Sci Fi and promptly committed suicide.

Just spent all bloody evening trying to get tickets to see 15 minutes of Avatar..WHY..its obvious now that it was just for USA and Canada and NOT the UK or anywhere elese. i thought this is a GLOBAL film??? This was so misleading..talk about FALSE advertising, why wasnt this made clear from the onset????????
-
Tickets are available now since 12 noon, but the screening is on the 21st.
Just registered a friend of mine and got the confirmation email like 5-10 min later. -
Just picked up 2 tickets
-
So, your confirmation e-mail took about 5 hours to arrive? Dang, I'll keep holding my breath, then.
-
I got my first confirmed registration message at 12:14 pm PDT, still waiting on the confirmation e-mail I was promised. Anybody else have to wait this long for a New York theater?
-
now, hopefully I will make it physically there.
-
Come the 21st, Avatar is going to get a big surprise when it bends over for a moment and discovers my eyeballs are fucking IT! That'll teach it.

-
...but if I get tix...thats the real vicotry
-
Is there a list of Imax vs LieMax theatres? Is Irvine legit?
-
What the fuck is wrong with this site? For more than a week now there are hidden rerouting adware bugs that are automatically taking viewers to a marketing site selling crap. Fix this assholes!!!

by lockesbrokenleg
-

-
"Confirmation emails for 8/21 will not arrive immediately, it may take a few hours to get to your inbox."
-
took 2 hours but finally it came. 6pm Lincoln Center in NYC Screening , My EYEBALLS GET FUCKED!
-
I got it but through backdoor is it still working??
-
Followed the link at the top of the article, was in the site, done, got my confirmation in under 5 minutes for here in Denver. Weird that it's so random with people...
-
... Suckers!
-
for MPLS - took about 2 hours.
-
pu11_the_pin dude...it's happening. did you not see the listing? 2 shows, 6 and 6:30. give me your email and I'll post for you.
-
I got 4 tickets...two for two different theatres in NYC....BOOOYAAAAA
-
Got mine today. 2 for 6pm showing on Friday.
-
All AMC theaters are Liemax. Real Imax theaters only exist in museums/aquariums/furniture stores and other such things. Imax theaters are never in the same theater as regular movies. They are always presented on their own as a seperate entity.
-
I'm sorry to read that. I know exactly how you feel--just my tirade. I was really pissed. Let's hope FOX and Cameron will do something for you guys or have these 15 mins released online.
-
Two tickets to the Richmond screening with no problems. I just remembered I sent the link to my home email. Don't know too much about this movie, so I wanted to see what all the commotion was about.
-
I'm sorry to read that. I know exactly how you feel--just read my tirades. I was really pissed. Let's hope FOX and Cameron will do something for you guys or have these 15 mins released online.

At Highlands Ranch theater in Colorado. No problem at all. Email confirmation just came.
-
James Cameron's Blue Tones = John Woo's Doves
-
different times. Guess I can see it twice if I wanted.
-
I reg'd around 4 pm
-
Some real IMAX's like the ones here in LA exist in malls and places like Universal Citywalk. The Citywalk one is actually an AMC multiplex as well. The only way to tell if it's a LieMax is if it's under a year old or just by calling the theatre and asking how big the screen is - or just actually seeing it.
-
..420 Boylston St. :-) Glad you got something!
max71 did you see my post to you? You need to go elsewhere for tickets in the UK. -
Tried the main "Avatar" site at 7:45-went immediately to the theater list, and I had no trouble getting seats for both performances at the theater-try again!
-
Took about 2 hours. Need print out and ID, so no hopefully that'll mean no prickish Ebay Scapling, or sketchy nutball cinema addicts trying to weasel in like they did at the D9 screening!
-
So far, its been five minutes and nothin'. Should I re-register?
-
It's been two hours for me. If you try to re-register they'll just tell you that you've already registered. All you can do is wait.
-
I signed up for LA Citywalk at 1:00 today. Still no email. Should I be worried or is anyone else in the same boat?
-
can't wait!
-
w00t
-
I am still waiting for my LA area one as well (Torrance). i don't know how long this is supposed to take.
-
For NYC!
-
Guess I just need to be patient!
-
So, I've already stated I got two email confirmations for confirmed pairs of tickets for Friday.
However, I just now opened my email account again (after an hour of having confirmed emails already sent) to see 36 NEW FUCKING CONFIRMATION EMAILS sent to my inbox. Who wants to go? Ha. -
sent emails for two different times!!
-
Introduce a little anarchy!
-
Signed up at 1:00 as well for Citywalk and haven't received an e-mail. From checking out the theater list page, it was one of the fastest to sell out which may be the cause of the delay.
-
LOL!
-
Sooo...took about two hours, but there it is.
-
The fuckers just keep coming and coming. Literally 16 emails all telling me I'm confirmed for Burbank at 6pm. Same code, same everything.
-
Fuck.
-
Hell yeah! Come on through to the Mile High City and you're invited!
-
Good to know thanks. I can breathe now. I'm sure it'll arrive. It's like Fields of Dreams - if you register through a backdoor link, then get a time out screen, then reload and finally get a confirmation screen, they will come.
-
I can't wait for the talkback, it will be glorious!
-
I GOT MY TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I RESERVED LIKE 6 OTHER TICKETS.
CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY OTHER RESERVATION E-MAILS! -
I GOT MY TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I RESERVED LIKE 6 OTHER TICKETS.
CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY OTHER RESERVATION E-MAILS! -
I got tickets for the 21st here in Minneapolis!
-
j/a?
-
fuck you all who registered like 18 times. You were part of the reason it was so damn hard today to get tix and pretty much ruined the flow of my day. Seriously what are you gonna do with those extra tix? You'd better give them to friends because if you're one of those fuck twats who sells them on Craigslist may you choke on your boyfriend's semen. Why not just register once like a normal fucking person? What makes you think registering a bunch of times gives you a better chance. If you get a confirm screen you're probably in. Take your chances and let the thousands of other fans get their hands on it. But no, every special event is loaded with fucks like you who get 20 tickets when only YOU want to go. I swear if I see $200 Avatar day tix on Craigslist Im gonna meet with the seller only to slit their fucking throat.
-
I seem to remember when Dark Knight preview tickets were offered online major sites linked to the site, and regular people who got confirm emails were shut out like me. So, I'm getting my revenge!!
-
you do know an ID is needed along with a print out of the confirmation right?
-
hence the need to check ID's
-
The Man wouldn't let me out of work early to see this anyway. I also can't skip work to try to get tickets to Quentin's special Inglorious Basterds screening. Screw life. Maybe I should have tried that ambition thing after all.
-
So it's even worse? These people who got 10 reservations can't do anything with the extra tix? They'll just be sitting there with empty seats in the house that night?
-
I'm sure they "sold" more tickets than they had. I'm getting there early.
-
I'm sure they overbooked too. It just pisses me off when people reserve unused tickets to events causing others who really wanted them to miss out. It's an increasing problem with any entertainment event. I'm getting there early too, which one are you headed to?
-
... guess no one but me gives a shit about this in Charlotte, N.C. thought i'd be screwed out of the free screening by now.
-
just relax, or better yet, grow the fuck up. The site has crashed due to sheer overdemand. Plain and simple. Amazing how some of the biggest whiners about Avatar (aka hypocrites) are the ones having a fit about not being able to get tickets.....
-
Going to a midwest screening. at least they were free, and you didn't have to pay outrageous Ticketmaster fees.
-
What say we have a small AICN meetup? Who knows, if we are lucky we may get to have a (straight) dinner and a blowjob fest afterwards.
-
When did Harry get HIS tickets??
-
Isn't this only "select scenes"? Not the full movie right?
-

NEWS for folks who reserved multiple tickets under one name...
by fuckmichaelbay
...my Fox rep says that if your name appears more than once you're going to be denied entry. Your photo ID covers you for you and a guest at most...that's all. Security will be heavy, and they will escort you out if necessary. Now stop bitching if you didnt get in.

by johnno
Everything's gooona beeee alll right... Every thing's gooonaaa beee allll riiight...
-
I cant access the site.
Im located in uruguay.
Any chance of this being here.
I dont even think IMAX exists here.
Thanks in advance. -
I'm sure that's for people trying to see it twice. If they did that, 100s of people who got multiple emails would be turned away. What if you got one by accident?
-
Just went to the site around 7 pm central and signed right up. Got my email literally 30 seconds later!!
-
Is it that M.Night movie? Thought you guys hated him. Just because some of you morons will think I'm serious I will go on to say I got my tix for LA... Looking forward to my eye balls getting fucked.
-
well i registered my name 5 times , because it wasnt working? but ill still be able to use it once? or do they cancel ure name completely if they see u registered more than once. I think fox shoudl shut there mouth and start apologizing for a VERY unorganized event. they should look into hiring a project manager and i hope Cameron gives them hell as it reflects badly on him and im sure hes a very meticulous man when it comes to DETAIL, since his films are flawless...
-
How early are you planning on getting to the theater? The theater I'm going at has a 6:00 and 7:00 (I'm going to the 7) and I'm wondering how far ahead I should get there for decent seats. Mind you, the time I'm going to is sold out already.
-
Shit forgot all about till almost 9pm when I came on this site and saw the headline. I hit the link and it took me to the site and I was about to get 2 tickets as that seems to be the max. I was on my iPhone sonthe safari browser doesn't have that problem apparently...
-
Honestly you know there isn't a time that's too early to show up to these things. But can I propose a universal agreement amongst geeks right now?! Can we just say we'll be cool about this stuff from hereon out and just show up 30 mins prior to a show? Act like you're in the industry. Like at SXSW where I can show up 30 mins before a set of a huge band and still get a front of the stage spot. Can we please be that cool and not camp out the night before like the absolute losers that we are?
-
Seats probably ran out in major areas like LA, NY, and IL, but I live in Indy so I was able to get 2 tickets for the local IMAX screening. try a different venue and see if that works.
-
I can't wait for the the reactions. And to see the new scenes that weren't at Comic-Con, of course.
IT'S THE RETURN OF THE BEST ACTION/SCI-FI DIRECTOR OF ALL TIME! -
I was thinking 30-45 minutes, but I don't know how nutty some people are going to get for 15 minutes of a movie.
-
People will be there hours in advance I can guarantee it. I'm getting to mine about an hour in advance. I refuse to wait any longer or take off more work than I already am. You're right, it's only 15 mins, let's calm down people. No need for Phantom Menace lines here.
-
Awesome. I certainly never thought it'd be so easy. Very, very, very fucking excited.
-
Got mine ... cause Portland is fucking AWESOME! ... yeeAHHH!
-
Neill Blomkamp already wooped your ass gud!
And her comes Cameron to finish the job...properly -
Here's my confirmation.
Congratulations! You are confirmed to be among the first to experience select scenes from James Cameron's epic motion picture AVATAR in IMAX 3D, on August 21st. Details of your screening are as follows: AMC on North Beach 15 & IMAX on South Beach Drive, Huntington, Ohio 66349 21st Aug, 2009 06:00 pm Seats: 2 Code: XX-XXXX
Please print this e-mail and bring it with you to the screening along with a photo ID. When your ticket is verified, you will receive a small bottle of “Eyeball lube”. Read the instructions carefully. Insert a few drops at least 1 minute prior to viewing the screening of Avatar. Add a few drops as needed throughout the screening. Please make sure your 3D glasses fit tightly and the ends are placed properly behind the ears. This will prevent customers in front of you from getting sprayed and from keeping your glasses from flying across the auditorium when your eyeballs blow a load. We advise that you bring your own tissues and dispose of them properly after wiping any jizz from your eyes. Only one pair of glasses per customer. This effect on the eyes will be greatly diminished if viewing on a thumbdick LIEMAX screen.
This screening will be monitored for unauthorized recording. By attending, you agree not to bring any recording devices into the theatre and you consent to physical search of your belongings and person for recording devices. If you attempt to enter with a recording device, you will be denied admission. If you attempt to use a recording device, you consent to immediate removal from the theatre and forfeiture of the device. Unauthorized recording will be reported to law enforcement and may subject you to criminal and civil liability.

Avatar fucking your subconscious in 2009
Here's what Timesonline has to say about it:
"More than 20 minutes of footage from the sci-fi spectacular was made available to fans last month at the Comic-Con International convention in San Diego, California."
"After the preview, directors lined up to describe it as “the future”.
"Excited reviewers said that they could not stop dreaming about it and that it was as though they had just taken a highly addictive drug that had left their mind yearning for more. Neurologists at the screening wondered if the movie had activated parts of the brain that were previously untouched by conventional, two-dimensional films." http://tinyurl.com/q3ok8z People couldn't stop dreaming about it ...tapping into "untouched" parts of the brainGET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE with that bullshit. Goddamn! Photoreal, Dark Crystal, Muppets with mullets, raping my mind and leaving me scared for life. -
no email; I officially give up
-
that's damn good man. Fuck Liemax!! And as soon as I get my fucking email I'm gonna get a head start on ocular lubrication! GET IT ONE MARINES!!
-
that's damn good man. Fuck Liemax!! And as soon as I get my fucking email I'm gonna get a head start on ocular lubrication! GET IT ON MARINES!!
-
Dont give up hope man! I havent received one either and Im freaking but I honestly believe if you hit the RSVP button it'll come thru. They're just sorting stuff out, I wouldnt want to be on the site's team today, WORST DAY AT WORK EVER!!!
-
Alright, are you all idiots? There is no frekin way I should be able to go right to the site and sign up Fred Flintstone for tickets in HOuston right now. BUt I did. Do you really think there was so much traffic the website was crushed for hours, yet there are still tickets avabailable for every showing? NO WAY!
I have a feeling we will see a "we fucked up" post from Fox tomorrow admitting they gave out 5 times the number of tickets as they should have.
Hell, I have duplicates myself because I was so unsure that my ressies were going to make it through. I'd cancel some if I coudl. -
you gotta get yours...
-
I've been to plenty of these things before, and they rarely kick anyone out. They WANT people there to see the thing and promote it. Most of the time they don't even check your email.
-
I just got my email RSVP for Navy Pier!
-
I finally got the confirmation email for the Metreon in SF. It only took like 6 hours, but hey, it worked! See you at the clusterf-, um, I mean screening!
-
I'm going in Sydney.
Can not wait. -
I'd like 100 people to show up and be turned away cause their names on the list twice.
-
Got em baby!
-
Just go the email. See you guys at the Lincoln Clusterfuck screening.
-
I'll give them away to the first person to give me the finger diddle.......
-
Anyone have the last four digits in their "code" above say 300? Anyone with multiple reservations knows the codes are probably NOT very unique and more of a numbering system then anything. Just curios how high the numbers are getting. I bet they're higher than the number of seats in teh theater, and that doesn't even include the fact that most ressies were for two, well except you losers out there.
-
Geeks and backdoor.....
-
...they DO take tickets, and given the fact there has never been a short sneak preview IMAX 3D event for the public before this, you can't say "I've been to plenty of these things before, and they rarely kick anyone out. They WANT people there to see the thing and promote it. Most of the time they don't even check your email." BULLSHIT! I got the word from up on high and, website crash or not, multiple listees will be turned away. Once everyone else has entered the theater, the turned away folks MAY be let in at that point. Security will be enforced even more than usual considering the magnitude of the event.
-
You couldn't have registered twice anyway, ass. If you tried to get more tickets, the thing said you already registered.
-
Aug 17, 2009 9:00:51 PM CDT
lockesbrokenleg: Before the crash you could get multiples...
by fuckmichaelbay
...now flap those ass cheeks in a talking fashion.
-
Well that was easy. Hope it is stellar, and if it doesn't live up, we still have Inglourious Basterds and Ponyo and District 9 to ease the pain.
-
Before the crash no one could get on. Your full of shit.
-
There may have been an e-mail address check, but not a name check. I'm sure I wasn't the only one with multiple family members trying to get more than 2 tickets with the same name. If they kick people like that, what exactly do they accomplish? Pissing off the biggest fans of James Cameron? The guy has one of the best resumes of any director. He doesn't quick cut edit, he shows you the whole fucking stunt. He's a genius.
But, because I was so intent on getting tickets, I tried multiple times in case the website that was barely operating didn't screw up, I will be denied a chance to see the preview. THat'll cause fucking riots. THere's no way they'll do that. Will they cancel all but 2 tickets for one person. I hope they do, I don't need the extras, and will gladly give them to another fan. -
It's been about an hour....nothing...
-
...I hope you get locke'd out of your screening.
-
Mine took about an hour and a half.
-
Well, jokes on you cause I didn't register twice for the same screening.
-
then waited patiently for 2 hours for my confirmation which never came. Tried again around 9:00 to register again but both shows sold out. Blech!
-
and michael bay rocks
-
I didn't even think I'd get the chance.
-
Registered for a theater in my city, checked my email about 30 seconds later, and there was the confirmation.
-
Morrow, Georgia still has tix available if anyone out there is close by and interested. Kind of a haul from Atlanta, but I'll give up a Friday night for this.
-
I think I'll be waiting a month after release so I can see it in comfort when all the mayhem has died down.
In the mean time, you people make sure you don't end up killing each other for good seats because you know there will be at least 20 douchebags taking up rows and telling you smugly, "Sorry, these 5 seats are saved for my friends." -
Aug 17, 2009 9:33:07 PM CDT
I'm in New York and got into 3 diffrent screenings......,
by itraveledbackintimetoteabagabrahamlincol
I logged on at almost 6 o'clock est. and requested tix from various local theaters in hope of getting one and I got into 3 out of 4. I hope I have not taken any of you new Yorkers chances, but I wonder if this is some kind of glitch related to the over loaded server I have heard about from this thread. Anyhooo if you are in NY and you can scramble up a fake ID in the next 4 days PM me or respond below and I will give you my name and you +1 can apparently get in. There's two of my aliases that are up for grabs. Thinking this is some kind of glitch though and a thousand people are going to show up?????
-
I registered for AMC Burbank, California and my confirmation letter took about 1 full hour to appear in my inbox...
-
....at kissonline.com Check it out doodz!!!!
-
Yes it is.
-
Got my RSVP at 3PM and 10 more an hour later?!? WTF? All with the same code.
Unfortunately it's for the Burbank AMC 16 3D IMAX (Lite) theater and not true IMAX. -
oh well, still got in!
-
Aug 17, 2009 9:40:14 PM CDT
This smells of wierd to me....
by itraveledbackintimetoteabagabrahamlincol
everyone getting their confirmations. It must be because outside the geek community no one knows about this?????
-
And yet... AICN has YET to fucking post about this? What is wrong with you guys?!
-
I tried to get seats for me and my partner - no luck:( - but we were going to hit the theatres for D9 anyway. If you could part with a pair of seats, it would be very appreciated! email dblance23 at yahoo dot com.
-
6 hours, but got the confirm email
-
first of all...i'm not completely sure why I want to see avatar...or anything from it...but for some reason I really do. Its not the cameron..or the blue things....its just something about pushing the technological boundries and seeing what could be the future of cinema.
So heres a quick question: Why set a date and time for the ticket release if they won't actually be available at this date and time? What exactly is the point except that you are pissing off fans?
I waited today and watched my computer time click from 2:59 to 3:00 pm eastern standard time, and with great enthusiasm attempted to get my tickets.
Two hours of frustration later I had no tickets...and now after 3 or so hours away from the computer (I scheduled my busy day around being on the computer AT THE TIME THE TICKETS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILABLE) there aren't any tickets left.
how bout' that?
So thanks for robbing me of an enjoyable nerd experience. Ya fucks. -
lol...daaaaaanguh
-
You are more than welcome to them. Only prob is I assume you are a woman without my name and I wonder about showing ID. I'll email you and we can chat off site. A photo ID is requested....
-
After 6 hours I finally got my confirmation email for the 7.15 show in Toronto
-
Just got my tickets up here in calgary canada as per email.Congratulations! You are confirmed to be among the first to experience select scenes from James Cameron's epic motion picture AVATAR in IMAX 3D, on August 21st. Details of your screening are as follows: Cineplex Scotiabank Theatre Chinook IMAX Theatre 6455 MacLeod Trail S.W. Calgary, AB T2H 0K921st Aug, 2009 06:15 pm Seats: 2

by mexicanjester
....and one for the IMAX at Universal CityWalk. If you're in need, let me know, mexican_jester at yahoo dot com.
-
Finally got my confimation Email, I wonder how different this footage will be from the footage I saw at comic-con.
-
It here! It's clear! I'll see you boys Friday at the Toronto Scotiabank!
-
... no Avatar day in Halifax , Nova Scotia, Canada only calgary , montreal and toronto, well might have to go see a 3D movie this weekend to see the trailer

Who else could pack theaters ONLY to go watch a long trailer
by lockesbrokenleg
Um, Lucas?
-
I can't tell by the way they worded the email. I'm assuming it's only a preview and not the full movie, am I right? How long do you think it's going to be?
-
Finally got through @ 3:45pm EST
They emailed my confirmation code
around 10:45pm EST -
is there a more pathetic level of internet presence than the nerd who spends hours of his life berating and attempting to undermine the enthusiam of other nerds? Fuck off, sunshine.
-
Just got confirmation emails for two sets. Schweet!
-
Sorry..it's just 15min worth of preview.
8 hours intersect? Wow...still waiting on mine. -
I believe it's 25 minutes of footage and behind the scenes stuff. Plus they're showing the teaser trailer. Read any review of what was shown at ComicCon and that'll be what we're seeing give or take a few things.
-
... other than those who got 6 pairs with 27 different email addresses, congrats! I genuinely hope that JC has does something special for y'all.
-
Ok..various sources are saying 15 or 25. I guess it's 15 probably for the movie bits and then the extra stuff that force_fed mentions. :-D
-
I got my tickets! miami must not have a very high geek population. Let the eyeball fuckery begin!
-
This is the power of Avatar. I hope everyone can appreciate the towering exuberance the fan community can create over no less than 16 minutes of finished film! This is just a taste folks. The rest is yet to come and I'm very proud to be a part of it.
-
You're closer. It's 16 minutes.
-
Yes I did!
-
Yeah it took long but I'm all good to go. It was either seeing it @ the Metreon which their projector on their last legs or the LIMAX in Mercado. Well took the latter. P.S. Metreon needs to repair their projector after the Harry Potter clusterfuck.
-
all you "ticket holders" prepare yourselves for a long line where the majority dont get in. Hope I'm wrong but people are just too fucking cheery with success around here. Got one set of tix under my name in NYC definately up for grabs maybe 2 pending email confirmation. Know its been many years since highschool and fake ids but if you can do it I'll give you my info.
-
Well, my friend did. We both just kept trying repeatedly, finally she got through.
-
Suprised there were still tickets left this late, but maybe I overestimated demand. Also, Albany aint exactly the most poppin locale.
-
I registered for a theater a little farther away because I wanted to check out a nearby store, but the confirmation gave me the closer theater.Nonetheless, I'm in.
-
I forgot all about this, so I figured I was shit out of luck. I'm kind of surprised. I went back to the link a second time and it said SOLD OUT for my showing. I don't know if I got the last ones or what. I doubt it. I'd keep trying if you still want 'em.
-
Just hope 10 years ago when after all hype TPM created when lucas returned after 16yrs away from film making that JC hasn`t lost touch after 12yrs. Can bear being traumatized again. Traumatized too much lately from prequels & crystal skulls.
-
this will have to be balls to the wall amazing..since everything else hyped this much has been FUCKING DIABOLICAL. Cloverfield anyone? (yes i know retards think its good).
so far there has been nothing nut flaccid eye ball flopping from what we've seen of Avatar, and despite the howling of some here, a warning to lower expectations...
a trailer might convince me. -
Aug 17, 2009 11:40:50 PM CDT
To all those of you with tickets for multiple screenings...
by biggusdickus
How're you going to feel if the first one is shit?S'pose you could always cry 'eyeball rape' and hope the rest of us believe you.Enjoy your mulleted muppets, boys...
-
To be fair, though, Lucas had not DIRECTED a film in 22 years, and Cameron HAS directed in the last 12, just not features.
-
NOW! Dude, its been fucking HOURS and still no email. Anyone else having this problem from City Walk??? : (
-
Well I got 2 tix for Stockton, Calif. Now I'm wondering if they are going to try and charge for this when I get to the theater or if it's free. Oh well.
-
Geeks crashed the website. Well if any of you get to see the 16 minutes of footage, I hope ya'll will upload it on youtube. :)
-
It was funny,I thought i screwed myself over, i spent all last night driving home from vegas, where my brothers band was playing and fell right asleep when i got home at 8am this morning sleeping till right before i had to be to work at 2pm totally forgeting i was going to to try at noon to get avatar tickets, when i remembered at 245pm, I thought no way there are any left, but i had no problems went right through, selected the AMC citywalk theatre in universalstudios hollywood(the real imax theatre) put my info and was told a email would be sent shortly, but 10 hours latter iam still waiting for that email
-
Be patient MilhouseVanH! I just finally got mine for Orlando Waterford and I signed up at 6pm-ish. So yeah, 7hours. Goodness. :-D
-
I registered before you. *Grr-face*
-
This "New Moon" 16 Minute preview is going to be AMAZING!!!
-
yeah select theaters way to get peoples hopes up ....well i know what im not doing december 18th....and ive been a cameron fan for years...but damn im very annoyed with how fox handled this crap...i wasted 3 hours of my life trying to get on to see if i can get tickets only to find out that there were no theaters within 24 hours of me...screw that ill make up the 3 hours of my life by not going...
-
Somebody is selling tickets for the preview... Of course, with this being Avatar, I'm sure somebody will go for it...
-
Well said.
-
And Indy 4 was simply great. Don't bash movies simply due to the fact that they weren't what you expected.
-

Are tickets for the whole movie or just the comic con footage
by ass clown
Im not sure if I want to drive an hour just for comic con footage that was widely described as average, but I just might

Forgiveness is the sweet fragrance the violet spreads on the heel that has crushed it.

Don't bash movies like INDY4 or TPM because they weren't what I expected?!Shut the fuck up, right now.
-
many of the hypocrites that have spent months trashing this film, are now apparantly gone out of their way to get these tickets, and will apparantly be attending one of these free screenings? Just how full of shit are some you?
-
welcome to the internet.
-
That sure took forever! Managed to go through AMC's webpage link, lucked into registering for 2 tix at around 12:30-1pm, and finally got the confirmation email at 4:40pm.
-
I forgive thee. lol
Now we all just need to figure out just what the hell was going on with Fox's system. There were some getting thier emails within ten minutes some instantly, others like myself who waited 5 hours. How did this system function?! -
dont trip on your bottom lip on the way out the door fucktard...
-
Ah look, the pretentious douche showed up, FUCK ASS.
-
has a reported 10% of the uk's allocation of Avatar Day tickets. I got mine with no problem yesterday through them and seefilmfirst.com. Hope the rest of you have better luck today.
-
At 2:55 am EST, I finally got my confirm e-mail. Who would have thought that this would have been an all day event.
-
Surprised it's been hard for people. It went in a flash for me and my friends.
-
...and that has allowed the Devin Faraci's of the world to send out the idea that what was shown at Comic-Con was average. I see people saying things like 'the footage was widely described as average', but if you've been following this film you KNOW that's not true. There were a few slightly disappointed responses, but even those people thought the film was highly impressive (e.g. Faraci admitted that the film is a CG evolution). Many of the responses were awestruck.

I love how the site says 'worldwide' and then when you click on 'tickets and showtimes', worldwide means 'USA and Canada'. That's really fucking stupid.

But on Avatar Day I am at the grooviest music festival called Lowlands; listening to Basement Jaxx, The Prodigy, Vampire Weekend, Vitalic, Calexico, Patrick Watson, Patrick Wolf, Wilco, Bloc Party, 2 Many DJ's, Grizzly Bear and many many many others.
-
In Lima Peru they have Avatar showings too
http://www.terra.com.pe/cine/james-cameron-avatar/ -
Oh yeah, baby: me and a friend will see it twice.
Rock on ! -
After being utterly frustrated from about 2p till 5p yesterday afternoon, I gave up. Re-tried at 7p last night and BOO-YAAA I got signed up for both the 6p & 7p using my name for one and my wife's name and email for the other. Went to sleep and woke up with confirmations to both sneak peeks at the Paladium Imax in San Antonio sitting in our in-boxes. I'll be smoking a big fat ass joint in the parking lot before I go in...feel free to join me.
-
Got me tickets to both screenings in Cardiff, UK!
Found it relatively simple as good old Empire magazine got an allocation of 10% and threw a code out to readers to go grab tickets.
Will be seeing Basterds in the afternoon; then get in the queue for an eyeballs assault! -
yeh i got your post but i was too late to grab a UK ticket from empireonline as i didnt know they were giving them away till it was too late. i had been excited and waiting all day for the offical avatar website giveaway, little did i know it was completly misleading in the fact that it was just for USA/Canada. why were people outside USA able to click on the link if it wasnt valid for them??? normally with things like this you get a messgae saying 'not avaiable in your country' or something. nearly 4 hours wasted last night!!!!!!
-
i was hoping to get a manchester ticket for the uk..oh well nevermind.
i just wish they made it clear it was just restricted for USA so i didnt have to waste all that time clicking and refreshing.
all that was said was the following - 'Details on locations and reserving tickets for this extraordinary and unprecedented experience will be announced soon'. and then the 'tickets and showtime' link popped up at 8.00 o'clock british time... the little fuckers LOL -
made up you got tickets, if only i knew empire were giving away uk tickets, i think i was around 12.30pm too. and to think i was in work twiddling my thumbs with complete access to the internet!:(
-
So... what happens with my cell phone? Are they going to try and confiscate it since it has a built-in camera? I can't leave my phone home all day (need for work) and had planned on heading over to the AMC 34th screening immediately after.
-
I live in Norway. Up here, there aren't that many geeks that wants to fight the polar bears walking around in the streets of Oslo to see these 20 minutes, so it wasn't hard to get tickets. Come friday; I will FIGHT for my right to be a geek!
-
I registered under two email addresses and received two confirmation emails with two different codes. Since I only need one I want to give the other one away. Free of course. Don't know if its possible since my name is on it. Any ideas?
-
I just went to my local Cinema that installed a new 3D Cam System. Got my tickets there without any problem. Try to ask your local IMAX or 3D Cinema if the Website doesnt work.
greets from germany,
Geek -
Yea, after looking around on the web, it seems like I'm not even going to go. I'm not going to end up either being denied entry or have my phone confiscated. Not going to try to coordinate both my wife and I leaving work, meeting and taking public transportation over to the city without being able to contact her.

This isn't Twitter or your Facebook status. What on earth is this doing on the main page?!

this movie is gonna "FUCK MA EYEEEEBAAALLLLS OUT!"
by cheyne_stoking_dms
or so I've heard.
-
...it's clearly long hair in a ponytail. I've been meaning to mention that. I see no mulletude at all.
-
Is a good one. Maybe somebody here could exercise their entertainment super powers and get an answer on that one. Would be cool if that info was available before the screening anyway. Could save a lot of "day of" tension.
-
or will there be a movie following the screening?
-
Wake me up when you actually have something interesting or funny to say.Moron.
-
of the almighty CAMERON...how they have missed him...and after the sneak peek...they will be back here trashing him again...ingrates!
-
Looks like there is only 3 IMAX's in the UK showing the preview..
Glasgow
Cardiff
And probably London or Manchester. -
Sorry that should read "3D IMAX" in the UK. Not sure of the other screenings are in 3D or not..
-
For real? lol Sorry, had to. No, but really. How could you possibly think that? I mean, look at this craziness. Opening weekend alone, regardless of final gross, will keep this movie from being "the biggest box office bomb of all time". As has been mentioned, "from the director of Titanic" IS going to put asses in seats. Probably for at least the first 2 weeks, maybe 3. And NOTHING, EVER! will end Cameron's career. The films he's already made will allow him to do whatever he wants until he's worm food.
-
You wanna know what hype is ? One word: Cloverfield.

Confirmation for 6 PM and 6:45 PM showings.
Stoked. -
If shit like GI Joe can make $100 million then Avatar can make $300 mil easy. Probably a lot more.
-
I don't know who's the bigger moron, the guy trying to sell these, or anyone who is even considering buying them.
http://tinyurl.com/ovukqw
What the "seller" fails to mention in his listing, is that you have to show a PHOTO ID that corresponds to the confirmation email received when you show up to the theater. So if someone is stupid enough to buy these tickets, they're going to be mighty mad when they get turned away at the door.
If it happened to me I'd be stocking up on whiskey and shotguns to go on a hunting expedition for his ass! -
...is one the assholes who was assholeish and received more than one set of tickets. As I mentioned before, you can pick up your tickets and only use one for yourself. Therefore, you have an extra ticket to sell. If you and a friend happened to each get two tickets to the same showing you could (if you chose to do so) have a pair of tickets to sell on ebay for whatever amount they bring. Stretch the imagination people - it's really not that hard to get around these systems. That's why ticket brokers are successful. However, still an asshole. And if somebody pays that much for them, well, I don't know what word would apply to someone ridiculous enough to pay $500 for a 15 minute preview. I mean, shit, it's not like the movie is being released next year or something. It's right around the corner... unless it gets pushed back. *cough*

by d.vader
I'll be at the Regal seeing it in THREEEEEE-DEEEEEEEE.
-
I tried watching it again on TV (my first time since I caught it in theatres) and it was fucking awful. Even the opening I could barely sit through. And I fucking enjoyed Temple of Doom aswell. I don't just blame Lucas, I also blame that shit scriptwriter aswell. So bad.
-
Can I ask something? What hype?
Other than Comic-con and some vague JC comments of how awesome it is (like every director does), there's been NO mass market advertising for this thing... It's August, and the movie comes out in December and there hasn't even been a teaser trailer. The pictures they've shown don't show ANYTHING. Compared to every other big hype movie (like say Cloverfield), this is the least hyped big-blockbuster type movie. -
Your comment makes no sense. WHEN Avatar makes over 100 million over it's opening weekend, regardless of how little it makes thereafter, being "the biggest box office flop of all time" becomes an impossibility. How is it that this concept is not clear to you?
-
fROM aVATARMOVIEZONE.COM
If you have received a confirmation with a register ID email by now, according to our local 3D theater manager, that is not the last hurdle.
First of all, he said this is not a theater based event, it's a studio based event. The theater is doing nothing but providing the space. He explained that there will actually be Fox reps at the theater.
He also explained that the theater holds 300 and the number of tickets issued is 900. He states that he guarantees there will be people turned away with tickets in their hands.
I don't like that much, you wait all afternoon to sort out their server issues and then you got to battle 900 people to be selected as one of the 300 people who will see it -
by shit scriptwriter, do you mean Darabont? Because alot of the same silly shit was in his draft too, and even more silly shit than what ended up onscreen.
-
by shit scriptwriter, do you mean Darabont? Because alot of the same silly shit was in his draft too, and even more silly shit than what ended up onscreen.
-
But you may have to show confirmation email.
-
... might have something to do with the fact that people did a super-geekout, over registered and RSVP'd? Anyway, the above statement is in regards to one theater, right? It can't be about all of them as 300 seats is actually a small ass theater. Also, I just don't see how it could be possible for Fox employees to police every screening around the world. That would be a major expense for a free screening.
-
Not sure if it was you who said that before, but I've had my ID checked at screenings (and concerts) multiple times while picking up tickets. I'm not really sure where you're coming from saying "they" and "never" when this is a worldwide event being held at hundreds of theaters. Pretty sure you haven't been to all of them.
-
and I got the confirmation 5 minutes later. Fucking awesome. I'm taking the day off and head up early. I don't want to miss this.

JAMES CAMERON'S AVATAR - OFFICIAL TRAILER.....EPIC!

says this article

so 68 000 devided by 202 = 336 per theater -
Just got my confirmation email from Fox this morning!
-
Awesome trailer!!!! Insane eyeball fuckery!!!
-
8 hours after I first went onto the site, and 5 hours after finally, successfully, filling out the registration form. Shouldn't have been so certain I didn't get in when I hadn't received my confirmation after 4 hours. However, I too fear they have oversold the theatre, and worry by how much. How early, for the second show, do I show up? 6:15, when the first show starts? Maybe a bit earlier when the first show is allowed in? I'm now thinking, do I really want to rearrange by Friday evening only to denied entry? I know, like I said above, I should be more positive.I went to an 8:00 am Sunday showing of The Dark Knight in Imax its opening weekend. The theatre wasn't open except for that screening so the employees were coming to work as we stood outside in the rain. They opened the doors and we all filed in. I had bought my ticket the day before so no need to buy one or pick up tickets purchased online. At no point did anyone check for tickets. I guess that guy must have slept in.
-
its a stupid movie that will sure disappoint. JC is not some miracle worker, everything that i have seen of AVATAR spells out failure all over that project. nice try jimmy better luck next time
-
...no real news and people still try to predict doom. Fascinating.
-
At the District 9 screening they would take your cell phone and give you a ticket to pick it up after the event. I'm sure they'll do something similar. They're not going to steal everyone's phone and never give it back.
-
Will my eyeballs be ok? what with all the... nevermind
-
Yea, I guess I'm just too paranoid to hand over my cell to complete strangers. Especially for a 12 minute preview.
-
Wake me up when you say something witty.
-
Hopefully it'll be worth it since I'll be missing sleep for it due to a roadtrip early early early Saturday morning.
-
btw after the preview, the theaters, well at least here in greece, will also show an interview with cameron talking about the movie.probably this will happen to all the theaters worldwide.just fyi.
-
Someone not at work google it and see if it is.
-
Got my tickets easily, for the Topanga AMC. As a precaution I also registered for extra tickets, just in case, for the Regal in Simi. If anyone's near the Simi Valley Regal and wants to risk using tickets under someone else's name, let me know. I'll forward my confirmation to your email, since you need to print it out in order to get admitted.
-
SO now the question is will all imax get the movie...seince they shafted quite a few? or will they just jack up the imax prices to 20 bucks a pop to make up for the "not so good imax screens"
-
Trailer not online yet, just a spoof one that ends with Rick Astley. How original.

... you really lost me with number 1. Everything else, maybe. But anything involving Rosie O'Donnel, sweat and licking is just totally unnecessary and unacceptable. Even in passing, as a joke. You may have just brought about the end of life as we know it.

You know, with a fuckin' name like yours, I got a mind to think that you're into specialty acts. Tickling asses and the like. Do you harbor a special place for Eli Roth or are you just an average, round the way cocksucker?

let me think about it and get back you. i will say for every dude with a mouthful of wad, its safe to presume Mr. Nice Gaius is right around the corner eagerly awaiting his fill like a baby bird.

Don't rightly know what Mr. Nice Gaius has got to fuckin' do with anything...but if'n you gotta think about whether Eli fuckin' Roth is a regular swallower of your no doubt flaccid prick, then I'd say you probably got a career in servicing fops.

just do me a favor bud, if the play calls for it, dont you dare cross swords with Mr. Nice Fag Ass. he's been know to catch a peek, and a bug or two.....prolapse on christmas. not a good idea!

Warrior, huh? Well, I have been known to cut a throat or two. So, if an ornery cocksucker such as yourself were to come into my fuckin' joint and bleet like a fuckin' lamb about some poor hooplehead that you got a beef with, I'd be liable to throw you off my fuckin' balcony. To say nothin' of Wu's pigs.

Ok, im back, i tried, but i just slid right off of her again.
Although i am tempted to change my screen name to Mr Wu. Or Shizwang. Or.......SEMEN_SWALLOWS_COCK_CUM_ARSE_BANDITIO_CATPISS_SHIT_BUKAKI.
Any suggestions? The best one recieves my eternal disdain and contempt. Peace Out y'all!

You sir, are an idiot. If you really expect this movie to not have any flaws, you are delusional. And furthermore, the notion that if it has flaws will make it a bad film, or a bomb, is maybe one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Cameron never said this was the Godfather, in fact all he hyped up was effects and some cool action scenes. Not acting, not story, not theme, nada. And if you are a real movie buff, you would know that many classic movies are not flawless. Furthermore, this movie could make 50million at the Box Office, and Cameron could still direct films happily for the rest of his life. You know why? Ever hear of a little movie called Titanic...
(p)
Your pathetic attempts at trolling the talkbacks and spewing vitriol for all things Cameron is seriously not healthy man. Get a new hobby. -
"I just slid right off her again" cracked me the hell up. Like, eyes watering. Thanks.

I got my tickets. Try again.

bring out those completely full of shit. All the desperate weirdos trying their best to fabricate whatever crap they can to trash this film. Or expressing their deepest wish for it to fail. in a way funnier and wittier way than I ever could. My thoughts exactly. I really dont think some of these whiney geeks actually realize how ridiculous they come across as. do you make? Im not the hypocrite like you fuckhead. You have done nothing but talk shit about Avatar, yet here you are going to the screening. ...the Avatar haters or those happily swinging from Cameron's nutsack.
Hmm... -
Can't wait :D

lly winning the battle. I hope AVatar is awsome, but im at least willing to admit that there are no gaurantees. Im simply willing to give Cameron the benefit of the doubt based on his past track with sci-fi action films

Already posted this in the newer Avatar thread, but just in case, I'm re-posting here--Got this from 20th Century Fox about 20 minutes ago: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but due to overwhelming demand to see the special scenes from James Cameron’s epic motion picture AVATAR, our AVATARMOVIES.COM RSVP site experienced technical difficulties. As a result of the crash you must re-select a screening time. Please note you may not get the original time you selected. Also new ticket confirmations that will be generated by your selection here will be the only accepted form of admittance." I clicked their link and got right back into the one I originally signed up for but hopefully this doesn't screw anyone over.

I had tickets to go to the Minneapolis showing and received the e-mail as well. Followed the link and selected the same showing as before and got a confirmation within a minute. Noticed now that Rosedale 14 has an 8 pm showing, before it was just 6 and 7 pm.
-
Had no problem getting ours. But this morning got an email from the studio asking us to make reservations again, and the first confirmation wouldn't count. So we made another reservation, and got through again without a problem. But they obviously are having technical difficulties if they needed us to re-reserve.
-
Got the same thing! Fox RSVP emailed me saying they had problems & asked me to click on the link & select the showtime again. Got a confirmation email immediately. 6 pm at the Metreon in San Francisco! Yeah!

I hit the link, and received a new confirmation email immediately. Also, they added a third showing at 8pm for the Metreon in SF. They're probably going to show it every hour to meet demand, I bet...

Your original registration will NOT get you in. Jump on the email you initially used and check for the re-registration link ASAP. Re-register for your showing as the NEW registration is the only one they're accepting Friday!!!
-
If they screwed up, then Fox is stupid, if they planned it, hoping to get "Avatar site crashes from heavy demand" headlines, they think we're stupid.
-
Kudos to FOX for giving in to demand and throwing in that extra showing. Way to make up for your boo-boo on Monday. Way to show the fanboys and girls love.
-
I'm in Socal and got my re-confirmation for Burbank in 15 minutes.
-
Originally there were two shows at the Scotiabank in Toronto - 6:15 & 7:15. Now it shows 3 shows - 7:15, 8:00, 8:45. I guess they did away with the 6:15. New email came in about 5 minutes.
-
Damn Fux sucks.
-
6.15..7.15..8.00..8.45
-
The 6.15 is sold out
-
That explains why I didn't see it listed. I wanted to avoid the first show as the real eager-beavers, the ones willing to line up all day, would be most likely going to that one. Will probably still have to line up an hour before. My plan is to get there about 15 minutes before the start of the previous show (around the time that group gets to go in). Really, any earlier than an hour before, for a 20 minute preview, is just silly.
-
Who is going to stand in line for hours and who is going to stroll up with enough time to get your ticket and take a seat?
-
Did everybody get the reregister e-mail? I sure didn't. I did get my ressies fairly early, so I"m wondering if only the later folks had to reregister.
Now I'm worrying again.

Surprised to see the email from Fox today:
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but due to overwhelming demand to see the special scenes from James Cameron’s epic motion picture AVATAR, our AVATARMOVIES.COM RSVP site experienced technical difficulties. Clicked on the supplied link and luckily got the re-confirmation email within 30 minutes, quicker than the first time! God, I worry what a cluster fuck this event is going to be... I hope it's worth it!
-
....biotches!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Does that mean I'm ok with my original screening or I'm fucked!
-
I filled out the reservation form like 4 days ago and I still havent gotten a confirmation email about it. I'm in the Northern Virginia area...anyone know whats up?
