Extract Winners - Check Your Email - You're Going To The World Premiere, if...
Hey folks, Harry here with the news that I've gone through the contest entries - and man. Some of you folks have had doozies of accidents. Some even seemed a bit tall, and shit... this is a contest for Texas so the Taller the better to see the coolness of Mike Judge's World Premiere of EXTRACT - being brought to us by THE AUSTIN FILM SOCIETY, The Original Alamo Drafthouse, Ain't It Cool News and SXSW. Look, AICN's in there with the big guys! So weird. Anyways...
Right about now - some of you are seriously bummed that you don't have an email. I know. Because there were only 25 winners, and I got over 750 emails on this contest. Which means there's at least 725 entrants wondering. Is their chance over? Is there no hope? There is, there is hope.
All you have to do is call GetTix at 866-443-8849 or at The Paramount Theatre box office/ Here's how the tickets break down:
$100 VIP seating and official after-party with Judge and Bateman
$30 (Mezzanine) and $17 (Upper Balcony) for the screening including a Q&A
Those prices may feel high, but frankly that's because this is a charity screening for the Texas Filmmakers' Production Fund - which gives giant gobs of money and tiny life saving stacks of $100 bills to desperate struggling filmmakers trying to make something that can entertain, provoke thought or touch you in some big or small way. So the money really does go to a good filmmaking cause that has done an awful lot for the state of film in Texas.
But act quick, I hear they're going like hot cakes as the buzz continues that Mike Judge has delivered again... unlike those terrible tv spots. Ack.

Joel is just about ready to sell the plant and gear up for an early retirement to easy street when Murphy’s law intercedes with a series of workplace accidents and disasters that put his business and personal life in jeopardy. Discussion following with writer/director Mike Judge. -
I got an e-mail...and I didn't even make my story up. Working in a meat market for 5 years gave rise to plenty of hilarious workplace accidents.

I've sent emails for just about every screening since BNAT 2004. I've never once seen my name on a list or gotten an email, and have only gotten into screenings by buying festival badges or, in the case of a few BNATs and QT Fests, waiting hours in the stand-by. I guess being local, interested, and active just isn't enough. 0 for 30 something and, sadly, still counting.

I tried to buy some a couple days back to no avail (hence my excitement for the contest...and the ensuing, all too familiar disappointment). I just called GetTix again and got the same info: there are only obstructed-view seats left, and the tickets can only be purchased at the Paramount box office. For what it's worth...
