I am – Hercules!!
I think I may have just found my favorite FX show ever!
A clip now from “The Lawman,” a new series from writer-producer Graham Yost (“Boomtown”) based on a character introduced in the Elmore Leonard novella “Fire In The Hole”:
Tim Olyphant (“Deadwood,” “Damages”) plays Stetson-sporting contemporary U.S. marshal Raylan Givens, who finds himself punished with a permanent assignment to Kentucky, where he was reared.
The series, due to start airing early next year, also stars Nick Searcy (“Seven Days,” “Easy Money”), Jacob Pitts (“21”) and Erica Tazel (“Jericho”).
This is at least the third series based on characters created by the 83-year-old Leonard, following “Maximum Bob” and “Karen Sisco.”
Leonard’s print work has served as the basis of more than 20 big-screen features, including 1957’s “3:10 To Yuma,” 1969’s “The Big Bounce,” 1974’s “Mr. Majestyk,” 1985’s “Stick,” 1995’s “Get Shorty,” 1997’s “Jackie Brown,” 1998’s “Out of Sight,” 2004’s “The Big Bounce” and 2007’s “3:10 To Yuma.”
