AICN's DISTRICT 9 San Francisco Screening List!!!

Published at:  Aug 14, 2009 12:54:07 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here with the final AICN / FANTASTIC FEST District 9 Screening list results. Now - there are only 370 seats, but you'll see that I have chosen 400 names. This will be first come, first served - so get there early.

Now, to me - I always found these lines for these sorts of events great fun. A chance to talk with other AICN fans, and meet a few friends. In the past couple of years, I've begun chatting more with local AICN movie goers - and I'm happy to say that Yoko and I now have a whole new group of dear friends. So after the film - hook up with the folks you chatted with in line. Grab some great San Fran munchies or drinks and chat about the movie. Be friendly, tell me that isn't a trait limited to Austin.

Turn off your cel phones, don't talk during the movie - and most of all... be a film geek set to enjoy one of THE films of the year.

As before: The DETAILS: 8pm this Thursday, August 13th at 8pm at the METREON 15. Enjoy the show...

if everyone shows up: almost everyone has a plus 1, that would be like 650 people (400+ more then it can hold, plus fire codes, etc)

    by rubioarclight

#125 here, first of all, Harry Knowles your my Hero. Like Ferris Bueller. For anyone coming to from the South Bay especially Santa Clara to the screening, I would like to know if it's possible to get a ride home from the screening because Caltrain @ night is a bitch. I live nearby Great America Theme Park. If anyone I hope, is interested let me know. Hope to meet you all there.

    Sony 4K

    by rubioarclight

Well where both on the same page but patience has it's virtues. If you're from the Bay Area, the place to see it Presented in Sony 4K is @ the Camera 7 Pruneyard in Campbell, CA. And let me tell you, the presentation will NOT Disappoint. Seen Pelham 123, Public Enemies, UP-3D, Hurt Locker & the polar opposite of D-9, Transformers 2. All the presentations were splended. I do miss the Arclight but it's not 4K yet. Bring your friends and you'll be amazed by how great this technology is. This is the only place here that utilizes this brilliant projection. Thanks 4 asking, #125

    by rubioarclight

    #125 Again,
If anyone who didn't get in the screening well they don't know what their missing. It's not 4K Digital Projection! If you want to see what it looks like then I recommend watching this short video,
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7vlXUxRbhM

Anyway look at my previous posting on the location or feel free to elaborate. -#125

I will totally watch it at the Camera 7 then. I love theatre technology (worked at movie theatres in the Bay Area and LA for 8 years total), and it's worth driving a bit out of the way for a great presentation.

plenty of seats by the time the film began with the projectionist taking too long to fix focus and masking. chemical splices suck.
