Published at:  Aug 10, 2009 10:29:07 AM CDT

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here to announce the five lucky winners who will be receiving the new complete score soundtrack CD of STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN (1982) composed by James Horner courtesy of Film Score Monthly and Screen Archives Entertainment.

Before I do that I just have to point out that this was by far the biggest batch of entries I’ve ever received for a giveaway. It even beat out the autographed copies of THE DARK KNIGHT (2008) I gave away last year!

Way to go and thank for everybody who entered.

Now here are the winners…

Jason Ford of Smithville, New Jersey

Matthew J Koch of Smithton, Illinois

Angel Nunez of Randolph, Massachusetts

William McCrabb of Lakewood, California

Steve Teamkin of Studio City, California

I’ll be sending these discs out this week so be looking for them to appear in your mailbox soon. Enjoy!

If you didn’t win and would still like to pick up a copy for yourself please visit FilmScoreMonthly.com This is an unlimited edition so there is no need to worry about copies selling out as is typical with limited editions.

Pick yours up today. It’s well worth it.

I've got this CD, it's fantastic

    by zillabeast

This score has never sounded better, and the added tracks are a very speecial treat. My favorite in particular is the cue where the Enterprise rapes Reliant from behind and blows off her nacelle.

A must-own for every Star Trek music fan!

Why is it that every fucking contest around here...

    by jacklucas

Seems to have "the biggest batch of entries thusfar!". Are they trying to hide the fact that this site is slipping? Fuck man, just post the winners. Who fucking cares how many assholes entered? (And for the record, I could care less about this score as I have owned it for years. Really didn't see what the bfd was over this contest.)

    when was this contest posted?

    by ufoclub1977

I listened to this on vinyl almost every day in the summer or 1982.

    This is the complete score

    by doublearon

So no one listened to this on vinyl back in the day.

I also hope that person who downloaded it paid the people that took on such an unpopular geek-service-style endeavor. I'd think if you want your favorite old school scores in complete form, you'd actually pay.

    Just sayin'.

The big deal is that this is the first time that the COMPLETE score has ever been released (so no, you haven't owned THIS score for years because it isn't possible).

    Just for the record

    by sithmenace

It's "COULDN'T care less". Anyone that says "I could care less" is saying that they do still care. Also for the record, the bfd is that this is the complete score, not the one issued in '92, so no, you haven't owned it for years. If you're going to try to be captious, at least know what you're talking about.Scorekeeper, thanks for the contest. I didn't win, but at least I had a free shot at a great cd.

    No International Winners mmmm!

    by boothmonkey

Loads of entries yet all the winners are in the US, so much for the WORLD WIDE WEB!

    by ominus

maybe its too expensive to post the cd packets outside of USA :P

Ya, I was waiting for this...

    by scorekeeper

All my giveaways are open to international readers. Although I receive a small share of international entries, the majority of them are always from the USA. If you go back and look at my other contests you'll see international winners; however, the majority of them will always be from the USA since the majority of the entries are from the USA. It's just how the odds play out. I'm sure I'll have to post this again the next time an all-USA crop of winners are announced. Sending a CD to a country outside the USA is not expensive at all.

    Here is an idea

    by boothmonkey

Why not next time have at least one for International entries and then give everyone a fair chance of winning!

I have yet to see anyone south of the Manson/Nixon line win any of these giveaways. Oh well, already ordered it on Amazon.

    Payin' Just Sayin'

    by kingdingaling

I'd think if you want your favorite old school scores in complete form, you'd actually pay. Just sayin'.

The price was paid waiting 27 YEARS for this release that only has two tracks that fans were wating for.
"Captain Terrell's Death" 2:00 and "Enterprise Attacks Relliant" 1:30

Most out-of-print scores are going to cost you around $60-$100 each. A quick search on Filmscore Monthly has a copy of "Young Sherlock Holmes" going for $250.00

    FILETOPIA MININOVA PIRATE BAY

Don't worry about getting into trouble because RIAA judges and lawyers would laugh at you for listing to filmscores.
