Cool News
Want to see DISTRICT 9? Live in Austin, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Chicago or Miami?
Hey folks, Harry here - and man, am I glad I can do this for y'all.
When I had to leave 30 minutes before the end of DISTRICT 9, because I had a panel to host... I was in agony. It is actually the only time in my entire life that I was forced to leave a movie I was in love with... before it had ended.
However, I was determined to do a couple of things. 1st, I would finish this movie. 2nd, I really want to give as many of you as I can a chance to see this film and share your impending love of it.
DISTRICT 9 is that very rare gem of a film. A film made by a consummate filmmaker with a masterful understanding of technology and story-telling, getting a shot to make a small budget film, so the studios remained hands off. It is completely original. Gory as hell - and funny as hell. It also happens to have big brains behind it all. And I can't wait to see the whole film.
So I reached out to SONY to make sure we could host free screenings all over the United States.
We'll be hosting AINT IT COOL / FANTASTIC FEST screenings in Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Minneapolis/St Paul, Seattle, San Francisco and New York.
The Confirmed Details are with 3 Screenings right now,
The first is Capone's screening in Chicago at the AMC RIVEREAST 21 at 8pm on August 5th.
The second is Harry's screening in Austin at The Alamo Drafthouse South at 8pm on August 7th.
The third is Ozymandias' screening in Miami at the AMC AVENTURA at 8pm on August 11th.
The above 3 screenings will have Neil Blomkamp and the South African badass, Sharlto Copley, star of DISTRICT 9!
We're locking down details on the other locations and I'll get those details for y'all soon.
To get into Capone's screening: read the details: At his recent post!
To get into my screening here in Austin, send me an email at HK at Aintitcool.Com with the exact subject line:
DISTRICT 9's Aliens Are People Too!
Just copy and paste that in your subject line. In the body of the email - include your full name and the name of your guest. I'll publish the list of winners once the screening is filled.
For Ozymandias' MIAMI screening - just send him an email with the names of your guests at his email: MiamiDistrict9@yahoo.com! This is Ozy's first event in Miami so treat him nice. He may be doing more in the future !
We'll publish the winner's list on AICN as soon as they get filled up. I'll also be running additional information on these other locations as soon as I have them pinned down exactly!!!
Trust me. DISTRICT 9 is fucking amazing, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS!!! In many ways - this is the film of the summer!

Harry, Capone was gonna keep the Chicago location a secret
by karlkolchak
You totally blabbed, dude.
-
Holy shit! I live very close to Minneapolis and will await more information about the screening/s there like a giddy little school girl. I have been looking forward to see this for some time. Wow, this will be awesome. *Joyously jumps in place* :)
-
what do you want? a story? a song? a kidney? I got you!!!
I'M READY TO GIIIIVVEEEEEE!!!!! -
Can't wait to see it after all the positive news in the past week.
Hurrah for Austin! -
Cannot wait for this
-
finally you guys show minny some love... bring on the details
-
I'm amped to try and see this one early... but I guess I'll have to wait...
-
We discriminate against them and abuse them - then there's some action at the end?
-
is it random or first come, first serve?
-
Promenade across the floor. Sashay right on out the door. Out the door and into the glade and everybody promenade. Step right up you're doing fine. I'll pull your beard you'll pull mine. Yank it again like you did before. Break it up with a tug of war. Now into the brook and fish for the trout. Dive right in and splash about. Trout! Trout! Pretty little trout! One more splash and come right out. Shake like a hound-dog. Shake again. Wallow around in the old pig pen. Wallow some more. Y'all know how. Roll around like an old fat sow. Alamand left with your right hand. Follow through with a great left band. Now lead your partner the dirty old thing. Follow through with an elbow swing. Grab a fence post. Hold it tight. Womp your partner with all your might. Hit him in the shin. Hit him in the head. Hit him again. The critter ain't dead. Womp him low and womp him high. Stick your finger in his eye. Pretty little ring. Pretty little sound. Bang your heads against the ground. Promenade all around the room. Promenade like a bride and groom. Open up the door and step right in. Close the door and into a spin. Whirl! Whirl! Twist and twirl! Jump all around like a flying squirrel. Now don't you fuss and don't you swear. Just come right out and form a square. Now right hand over and left hand under. Both join hands and run like thunder. Over the hill and over the dale. Duck your head and lift your tail. Don't you stray and don't you roam. Turn to your partner. Promenade home. Corn in the cornfield. Wheat in the sack. Turn to your partner. Promenade back. And now you're home. Bow to your partner. Bow to the gent across the hall. And that is all! -
I'll be on the lookout for the new york update! there's never nothing aicn wise that takes place here!
-
Most 'downtown' screenings in general are at the AMC River East, at least for large movies. Not that 'secret'
-
I just sorta get the HL2 vibe from this movie... we'll see
-
Hook us up!!!!
-
the closest the Midwest ever gets is Chicago or Minniapolis
-
Been reading this site for a while now, it's so awesome that we're finally getting an early screening for something in Miami.
-
Then get Grady Hendrix of the NYAFF and also of the old kaiju shakedown blog at Variety to host it. He rules at hosting screenings!
-
Here's hoping it gets nailed down soon in Seattle
-
hook me up, boss!
-
here's hoping the screening is while I'm there (even though I just live down the road in Portland...)!!
-
Not like were just a bunch of Zombies here or anything!
-
The Austin screening is on a work night for me. Gah I want to see this too! To those who attend have fun, you lucky bastards!
-
As a Texpatriate i hate that all this shit happen back in the motherland. So for real, lets have some NYC info. Super stoked to see this film and i'd be super stoked to see it with a bunch of AIC geeks.
-
I mean, commeon, seriously...
-
i'm gonna cry!!! thankk you soo much guys!! and it's for freaking District 9!! Harry I salute you, brethren.
-
Harry where's the love?! We have a few great theaters (Prytania and Canal Place) that support independent films and we even have our own Film Festival every year! Show some love!
-
Finally.
-
can you pay for my gas from dallas?
I would like to see this movie. -
I've been so excited about this movie since I saw the original short film. I can't wait!
-
dorky dorks unite for dorkness
-
Keep me posted cause I am all for seeing District 9...
-
some of us have jobs to pretend to do.
-
I want it!!
-
MIAMI BABY!I can't believe Ozy is from Miami! That is badass
-
SOLELY....IN miami.Plus, if chosen-we can show Neil was an absolute SHIT mini-IMAX that theater has.Maybe not.
-
I better win, can I buy a ticket just to be sure? :)
-
I just sent in an email, i really hope it's not full yet!
-
Where's the details?
-
I am desperate to see this movie too!! Sign me up!!
-
What's up with the details Harry? Will this screening be at the Cinerama? Please!
-
and i'm at lunch i'm gonna be pissed.
-
Seriously, being a native South Floridian I couldn't be any happier. Hopefully we'll see some more down here!
-
Get me in for Austin!!!! Please :D
-
I do! I work five minutes away from the Alamo Drafthouse! Lemme in!
-
you area badass sir
-
Well, can you make it Orange County??????
-
Want.
-
The badassery of our area doesn't compare to the potential badassery of other areas. Miami, which I grew up in, is badass in itself.I now reside in Palm Beach, which could qualify as badass, considering we managed to singlehandedly fuck things up for the rest of the country in 2000. That's not the good kind of badass, it's the bad kind of badass. But badass nonetheless. Badass.
-
The Alamo and Ain't It Cool are two primary reasons I moved to Austin (namecallers, go away) and they're about what I miss the most now that we've moved up to Seattle. I'm tremendously happy to see that we'll get some AICN love up here, too. No theater comes close, really, but I can imagine this playing at the Cinerama, or maybe even Lincoln Square? I'll be back in Austin Aug 13-14, so I hope I don't miss the Seattle showing somehow!
-
Hooray for the TC love!
-
I got all excited and submitted my name, but forgot that I already purchased tickets to the Paramount Theatre screening of ALIENS and ALIEN 3 that same night. Sorry, I have this one chance to see ALIENS (a new print! on the big screen!), and I can always see DISTRICT 9 one week later.
-
Wow. I can wait for the info to be posted!!! Has AICN had a NYC screening before?!?!?
-
I remember one they did here in NYC I went to for the film The Devil Dared Me To (which when it came out on DVD, I almost passed it by because it's called DICK: The Devil Dared Me To). That was many years ago and wasn't packed. But District 9 would be a huge film for AICN to do here in the Big Apple. I wish they'd do more screenings.
-
Do you need someone to run it or something? Because I volunteer if it will get us a screening.
-
... I'll help HOST the damn thing in LA if it gets it here quicker!!
-
your a FLORIDIAN...so...its still offical..you goodsir, are badass.Anyone in Florida automatically reches an 11 on the bad-assery meter
-
Never before has AICN done a screening East of the Mississippi!
-
its mentioned in the headline, but not the article?
-
Where's the info? Can't keep refreshing the page every 10 minutes! I want to see this movie so damn badly.
-
Try not to schedule Seattle's at the Egyptian Theater. The seats there are unforgiving.
Although, I did have possibly one of my best movie theater experiences there once. They ran Conan the Barbarian at midnight on a Saturday, and the theater was chock full of drunken yahoos (my cohorts and I included) shouting lines and whooping and hollering.
We went on TWO, count em, TWO beer runs from INSIDE the theater during the movie. Walked out, walked to the corner store a block away, came back with more High Life tallcans.
The usher at the door looked like he wanted to say something, but was too terrified to move. It was awesome.
But yes, I want to see District 9 very badly. Help a brotha out. -
Yes-I need 2 tickets for the SF screening too.
-
I went to an AICN showing of The Orphanage with the director there for Q&A. Showed up eary, there was a huge section roped off for people who won tix from AICN, and when the movie started it was 90% empty... and people left after the showing rather than hear the Q&A.
I hope SF shows District 9 a little more respect. -
I was at The Orphanage screening as well. I don't remember a roped off section (got there not too long before the showing). That was very memorable talking with the writer and director. I got to ask a question!
-
Yeah, I think they removed the ropes after it was clear the AICN section wasn't going to fill and there were other people who needed seats. Anyway, I'm stoked that there is finally another event in SF. Only wish they were reviving the Parkway for this.
-
Badass
-
in South Florida.. Enter the no human zone, Baby!WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!
-
I need this movie, this summer's been a big let down film wise.
-
Will shame the shit out of the others!
-
Set me up for the LA Preview. I want to be quarantined in the district for a few hours!
-
Need tix for the SF showing, details please!! Can't wait such a fan
-
All us clamoring for SF should get dibs on tix. We dedicated.
-
actually i'm a joisy boy now. oops!
-
Harry i'll eat any of my organs, on live tv...for tix.
-
i just want to see that damn amazing looking movie! I'll blow Moriarity...oOops.

Finally, A Reason To Stand Up And Cheer For Minneapolis In A Public Forum.... Well, Besides That Perverted Purple Musical Midget From The Paisley Park Area.
Now There Once Was The Woman Who Turned The World On With Her Smile, Seltzer Down Some Clown's Pants Aside.
Sure Now You Betchya, We Had A Formerly Flamboyant Feathered Boa Wearing Wrestler With A Speech Impediment Who Shocked The World, But He Later Sold Out For A Change Of A Wardrobe With A Secret Pocket To Become Our State Governor.
I Hear Tell He Settled All His Legislation By Cage Match, Dontchya Know?
Recently, We Filibustered Our Way Through A Nine Month Long Litigious And "Reptilian" Senate Recounting Process Full Of 10th Grade Civics Drama.
Still By Golly Gosh Darn It, People Really Seem To Like Our New Senator Stuart Smalley. Well, Just Over Half Of Them....
Yep, Its No Wonder We'll Welcome An Alien Invasion From Time To Time, Even If Its Only Available In Bazooka Joe Flip Book Or Beta Cassette Form....
Yep,That District 9 Would Right Likely Be A Welcome Distraction Around Here In Minneapolis. Otherwise, Some Good Lonely,Lost Or Other Type Folks Might End Up Going To See Movies That Dont Rightly Deserve The Money That We End Up Shelling Out.
For Example, Im Of The Opinion That This New Orphan Movie Should Be An Only Child. Thirteen Million Dollars In One Week Might Only Encourage Those Hollywood Producer Type Folks To Release A Sequel On DVD.
Regardless, Things Are Just Plain Boring Around Here In The Twin Cities. So Boring In Fact, Most Of Us Are Currently Salivating The Latest Harvest Of Dry Paint While Waiting For The State Fair To Begin Next Month. We're All Fairly Curious To See What New Stuff The Local Vendors Can Cram On A Stick This Year.
My Personal Prediction? This Has To Be The Year For Long Suffering Personal Favorite Of Mine:
A Ham Flavored Tic Tac....
On Stick.
-
The Egyptian is fine. So's The Neptune.
-
just waiting for the details.
-
pleeeeeeease
-
i wasn't sure about this movie, but the TV spots are winning me over. it looks pretty sick, i finally have a film this summer to look forward to.
-
I hope I'm on...
-
At the Castro please! Or maybe the fancy Kabuki that I'm usually too cheap/broke to spring for.
Or fuck it, wherever, I just want in! -
I wish this was on IMAX so we could see it at Metreon.
-
Oh Harry, please please please please make this happen. Thank you, sir!
-
I'm in on the MPLS screening. I'll check back for details!
-
This would be outstanding.
-
if that's what it takes to secure a spot
-
I hope I get the Austin showing, that would be awesome
-
except the aliens are not here to invade, and they dont land in america. it's about damn freaking time!
if i ever see another alien invasion film where huge american metropolis got blown to smitheren, i'd personally track the director's address and make soup out of his pet. -
I have a feeling Emmerich's 2012 will wrap its storyline up with an alien invasion.
-
dung heap Landmark Cinemas such as the Egyptian, Metro, and Neptune. The very best theater in Seattle is the classy Majestic Bay Theatre in Ballard.
-
Yes! Didn't know about the Orphanage screening in sf or I would've gone. Will definitely show up for this! Trailer looks awesome.
-
Just MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
-
Is that they often show drivel like The Proposal and only occasionally show films actually worth seeing. Their current line-up for this weekend isn't that bad though.
-
The smaller theaters there only have one aisle, so if someone on the far end has to get up during a movie, they have to displace the entire row to get out. I'm sure something like District 9 would screen in the larger theater, but that's still a pretty bad design flaw.
I DO miss that they stopped doing midnight screenings of classics like Raiders. -

Los Angeles, Harry! DISTRICT 9's Aliens Are People Too!
by yourkungfuisweak
C'mon Big Red. Bring that bad boy to L.A. Herc and me'll be the first two in line.
-
Looking forward to this one
-
C'mon guys...don't leave us hanging here
-
really can't wait to see this film
-
Director of District 9 (Neil B)-declares MIAMI screening "the screening to END all screenings" and decides to offically move to Miami and slap all other NY'ers/San franscians(?) and Chicagoians with cheesy bread, and then put a big jug of marinara sauce on them!
-
frequently have lamp and lighting issues, and have the absolute worst sound (when they aren't blaring it at ear drum piercing levels). The Cinerama has equally terrible sound, and the seating is far too close for comfort (it's always packed, and I don't care for a stranger practically sitting in my seat).I'm discussing physical superiority, not the movie selection. Of course, a screening should be in the larger ground floor room at the Majestic Bay.
-

Let's get this going I'm dying to see this thing Harry! -
I've been waiting to see this movie all summer.
-
And screw LA. Make it in Orange County. Irvine Spectrum would be good. Yes, I'm selfish.
-
Harry, I shot you an email, but I figured I'd drop a line here in the Talk Back... Count me in on any LA screening. I'd LOVE to see this early!
-
I'd love to see it at the Landmark in West LA; great screen, comfy chairs...
-
The alien stars of the movie are landing in Miami for the screening "We will not miss this"....They've also agreed to a Q&A
-
Somebody give us some info so we can RSVP, or possibly enter whatever to RSVP. Thanks
-
in austin
-
This movie looks great. cant wait to see it.
-
i'm dying here
-
Im anxious. I truly want to see this film.
-
I need to be there sir! Make it so. I ask this of you graciously.
-
Thinking my chances are pretty good for getting one, hopefully.
-
Anyone know?
-
Seriously, Los Angeles info! Better yet, move it to Irvine or Anaheim! Either way, I want to go!
-
For film nerds like us, it feels like forever already! Harry, give us the information we so want!
-
can we get the la screening infos already?
-
How kind of you to include St. Paul like that.
-
*Gob voice*
-
over and over again, waiting for news for NY!!!
Harry, have mercy, brutha!!
-
Neeeeeed SF Infoooooooo
-
like, "hey guys, finalizing details, will be up tomorrow".
my productivity has plummeted due to checking here every 10 minutes -
All I'm thinking about now is this screening. I realllllyyyy need new info. Anything. And specifically about Miami too :P
-
Terrible parking, but at least your car will still be there with all windows intact. Also, when I was late(due to parking issues) for the Metropolis screening, I explained to management that I'd driven 120 miles to the screening, not only did he let me in late, he didn't charge me. Great people, great theater.
-
Man I totally want those now
-
So yeah. *crosses fingers*
-
Not that it matters at this point, but if it's a IMAX showing, have it at AMC Loews Metreon 16 of course. If regular, please have it at Century 20 Daly City or Century at Tanforan because those have free parking lots and is relatively safe past midnight.
-
I want to go!
-
I've visited AICN multiple times in a single day. THE ANTICIPATION CONTINUES!
-
what to think while watching the trailer for the first time. At first I figured it was a shitty fuckin summer blockbuster but I was suprisingly wrong.
-
details please!
-
Harry...i'm down for 2 :-)
-
Im so anxious. I have a really good feeling im gonna get in.
-
I'm also anxious to know when the list will be out...I just sent in my request this morning, hope I made it!
-
the most difficult, frustrating place to park in the entire city.
Now that I know there are a bunch of SF guys in here, did anyone see Black Francis perform his original score to Der Golem at the Castro last year? -
Anyone? haven't seen the new Potter yet (holding out for the cheapy second run $2.00 theater) but did see Moon, and The Hurt Locker. Sounds like District 9 will be joining them in movies i have to see (at least there are still some left)
-
offer only a small number of tickets to people in each of these cities, or do they usually try and fill up theaters with us here talkbackers?
-
Just wondering.
-
What? No one else has?
-
What did it say? I thought he was going to post a list or something. I sent my email early. I'm almost positive I got in but no response yet.
-
No, I haven't, and as soon as someone does hear back, we will hear about it.
-
We all waiting for updates Harry! Especially us nerds in NYC!
-
Yes I'm dieing to go see this.
Its a work night but if i get an invite I will will call out!
-
no list =( i need to know so I can get off of work!!!
-
I hope the info comes out soon, I'm dying to get tickets :O
-
Lets get the info, this is the movie I've been waiting all summer to see.
-
Aug 02, 2009 9:21:33 AM CDT
crapp! i haven't heard back from the Miami one...
by t 1000 xp professional
this worries me greatly :( .. Could've sworn was gonna be one of the first to send in an email too. It won't be healthy for me if I don't go. Trust me.
-
Doesn't sound like anyone has, no need to worry just yet...
-
Now it's your turn Ozy!
-
I would love to see this in a theater full of film geeks.
-
Post the lists, please! This is only a few days away!
-
Any word yet on this one? Don't want to miss it!
-
of checking here every 10 minutes. Yippeeeeeee! (9 year old Anakin in TPM)
-
I'd be glad to help coordinate things in Minneapolis, if you need a man there. Otherwise, just gimmee tickets! I'm really looking forward to this, since Massawyrm dropped his review.
-
Yo idk why people be gettin' all up in arms 'bout ole District 9 tryin' to come up and be the new Starship Troopers or sum shit. Yeah I been to that Comic Con, I seen dis mufucka and I'ma be straight blood...'dis shit WHACK manne, ole Alien leader bringin' all sorts of drama to all deez bitch ass colonist (or sum shit) alien mufuckas, den these boys come in tryin' to prove deysself as human souljas piloting a mufuckin transformer n shit. ain't even kno race scenes in this movie y'all, PASS ON DIS SHIT
-
Or the one across the street.
Seriously, though, what's the deal here, when's this happening? I need to see this movie STAT -
you sound like Jamie Kennedy from Kickin it Old School
-
Where are the details Harry!?!?! Herc!?!?!
-
Need details so I can enter and win!
-
Because first of all who the fuck would ever want to go to that glorified shopping mall Westwood? And secondly if they did where the hell would they park? It should be somewhere you can at take the red line to. Or Burbank, which at least provides you with someplace to keep your vehicle. Not that it matters what we say.
-
Indeed, where are the details for an x2 tickets participation.
-
We shouldn't see it in a movie palace, and should just view it in the shittiest AMC McTheater in Burbank. Hopefully the one that's IN the Burbank mall would be better.
-
What is taking so long? The post went up four days ago and I'm pretty certain it would have filled up in the first day! So what gives, Harry?
-
At the end of D-9 Spock dies!!!
-
of like-minded fans in SF ready to have their eyeballs f*cked by a movie that is not "Avatar"! Sign us up for the SF preview Harry!
-
AND BLOWS THE FUCKING DOUCHEBAG ALIENS BACK TO IRAQ!!!
-
You certainly can't do better than the New Beverly. Old school sound and visual quality be damned I'll take it over fucking *shudder* Westwood. If technical issues are all the same Ill take a generic theater over having to travel to that pain in the ass to get to and park corner of LA. I don't love Burbank in the least but the ACTUAL mall there has more personality than the entirety of Westwood. Did I mention the parking sucks?
-
i have been anticipating district 9 for so looon... i hope i make the austin list at alamo draft house.
-
any details on the minneapolis screening yet?
-
Really, no list yet?

When I was 9 my Dad told me he'd take me to Disneyland and Universal Studios at the end of the summer. Long story short, Dad had some excuse for not getting to take me to Disneyland that summer. I hate my Dad.
-
I'd be disappointed if after spending all this time on this site, I left my computer for 1 hour and missed out on the news. I have a feeling some of us are going to get screwed on that.
-
Donkingkong Your story has sadden me...I'm sorry to tell you.. your father really didn't love you. Because he found out.." he is NOT the father!!!" I'm just keeping it real. I mean a REAL father wouldn't tell his real son that he would take him and then NOT. By the way I'm only kidding...My father would ass rape my dog in front of me. my dog's name was Pluto.
-
Hmmm still no word I see...
-
The cinerama would seem best to me.
-
When will we know? I really trying to go and there has been no info since the story broke! What's up!?
-
This is as dead as St Paul on a weekend night...
-
LA SCREENING INFO!! I GOTS TA KNOW!!!!!
-
Anything. For all we know maybe they won't be able to get a theater in time.
-
or bust. We must have this info, time is flying by!
-
On over half of the hopeful host cities is not a good sign. It gets worse when you begin to realize that the film opens in two weeks time.
-
Was thinking this was like an October release.
Still would like them even if was just a few days ahead of release. -
................................................................any day now!
-
for the love of all things holy- post the Austin list! The suspense is killing me!
-
...he could just post the time that the last lucky e-mailer got in. That would give people a good idea whether or not they got in. I'm just sayin!
-
The Drafthouse theater is not that big. I'm sure it must be full by now. So Harry, pause the Flight of the Navigator BluRay and copy and paste some names :)
-
Top Stories is filling up. I'm losing hope that it's going to happen in SF.
-
thanks anyways though.
-
No kidding. I'm waiting on Seattle and starting to lose hope!!
-
It's this Friday!! I need to make plans!
-
Harry will probably remember and post it Thursday night.
Jeez, I really want to go to this! -
Harry get those details in. I can't wait been following Blomkamp for some time. The next Cameron in my opinion.
-
some of us dont live in austin and want to go, but wwe need to make arrangements
-
You bunch of freeloaders, Be grateful that you even have a chance.
-
just wondering
-
Maybe Harry is trying to secure multiple prints of the film so he can offer as many seats as possible in multiple theatres (at the same location). At least that's what I'm choosing to hope for...
-
Nobody is acting like a freeloader. The fact of the matter is, the people that get the opportunity to attend one of these free screenings are more than likely going to willingly pay to see it again. And those who don't get to attend one of these screenings are definitely going to pay to watch this movie. I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure the excitement and anxiousness stems from people wanting the opportunity to see the movie before it actually opens.
You say that people should be grateful to even have a chance, and that's the problem here; because no information has been released for some of the cities, a lot of people don't have a chance as of yet. -
Look i'd be happy if it came out in Seattle a day or two before the actually movie came out world wide just so I could take in its awesomeness with some fellow talkbackers and then enjoy it a second time with a clueless crowd no less then 48 hrs later. Can't fucking wait.
-
This is all an elaborate ruse to get us to keep refreshing this page for more info....... gosh it'd sure be great to hear some more news regarding screenings in other cities such as San Francisco!
-
Seattle is dying to know when/if it's going to happen. Refresh...button.... sticking.....
-
WAITING! come on, guys! the suspense is killing me! when are we gonna get more info on the other screenings?
-
I wanted to see this with an AICN crowd in NY, but I'm fucking tired of checking here every few hours. I'm a projectionist and I'll get to see it next Wednesday anyway.
-
Harry,
Don't have it somewhere nice like the Angelika or Sunshine. Have it in a outer borough roach motel like the Center Cinemas in Sunnyside, Qns. or the Eagle in Jackson heights (Bollywood Theater). Although I guess you could go "high brow" and have it at the Museum of the Moving Image (Astoria) which is right around the corner from the United Artists Kaufman Astoria Stadium 14 (ugh, nice theater but basic "cineplex"). Anyway updates would be appreciated!!!

AFter spending all this time on here, if I don't get in the SF screening I'll be disappointed. Wish there was some kind of sign up or list for us while they hammer out the details.
-
I hope that perhaps we'll find out tomorrow for a Friday or Saturday showing (although those are the two busiest days so what theater would agree to that). The first screening for the other cities is tomorrow!
-
...theyre not.. gonna happen..
-
Looks like my hopes of this screening happening while I'm here have been dashed. Not that I wouldn't be tempted to make the 3-hour drive from Portland if I got in to the Seattle show... it's just I'm here RIGHT NOW!! Still hoping!
-
Harry, hook it up!
I NEED ALIENZ -
off the front page.. two days till screening.. Still no list..
-
Harry, can I stay with you if I can't find a place to stay in time?
-
How long does it take to make a list of the first 200 people to email?
-
The question is, is the subject line me singing along to a kid song or horribly disguised attempt to remind Harry that us out here in LA are still chomping at the bit to hear something about a screening for this movie? You be the judge!
-
I just talked to the Drafthouse South and they know nothing of this event. Harry, would you please post some information if this is still happening or not.
-
i deserve a pass!
-
Get it together man! A shit ton of people want to see this in Austin in a couple days.
-
where the only safe assumption is this is NOT going to happen, that Harry just blew smoke up our collective ass and this shit just ain't gonna happen... I'd love to be proven wrong though..
-
It's a shame that Harry and co. got a lot of people worked up about these screenings, only to go completely silent on any info, when the likelihood is that probably a lot of these screenings aren't going to happen. Dammit!
-
at least I have Cinemapocalypse! to look forward to..... but I had the fingers and toes crossed for this too....
-
I was planning on taking the trip just to see this if I got in. It's also a great excuse to go to one of the best cities in the world too.
-
...about screenings that weren't finalized or even probable.
-
Guess those other screenings aren't happening?
-
I was really hoping to get in on the Seattle screening.
-
OH well
