Who'll Play The Maybe/Maybe Not Imaginary Antagonist In Aronofsky's BLACK SWAN??

Published at:  Jul 27, 2009 10:33:25 AM CDT

Merrick here...

A few weeks ago, we heard that Darren Aronofsky's work on the new ROBOCOP film may be delayed or scuttled due to his suddenly being able to make his dream project: BLACK SWAN. Learn more about said matter HERE.

We already know Natalie Portman will take the lead in SWAN; now we know who may play her tormentor.

Mila Kunis will be Natalie Portman's nemesis.

The actress is in discussions to star opposite Portman in Darren Aronofsky's supernatural drama "Black Swan." The pic centers on a talented ballerina (Portman) in the New York City Ballet who is tormented by a rival who might or might not be a figment of the dancer's imagination.

...says THR.

Kunis was most perfect in THAT 70s SHOW, but I think she's yet to find her stride outside of that format (MAX PAYNE, for example). Maybe she'll do it here...or in THE BOOK OF ELLI (HERE).

Coverage on here is really starting to suffer. The contributors should pay less attention to Twatter and more to the site.

Was annoying as shit in "That 70s Show." The only acting she's done where I thought she was good was "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." What the fuck's a Max Payne?

She can already dance ballet and is a much better actress. Why can't Aronosky choose actors that are already profienct in the art? Or is he not going to show any dancing?

I thought The Fountain was Darren's dream project?

    by d.vader

That one you heard about for years. This one we've only heard about for months. I don't think its comparable.

    Reply to Talkback

  • Seriously, in past years we had every editor giving DAILY updates. Mori, Harry, Quint- whomever else. I swear, they CONSTANTLY updated stories. I don't know what's up with everyone this year. They're just getting so lazy. "I'll do it later. They won't mind." Psssh. Lame guys. Really lame.

    by walrusholder

I have a lot of faith in DA, and Mila Kunis is cute as a button, it will be odd for her to be the nemesis. I was just getting excited about Robocop so I hope this more then makes up for my disapointment.

    by bottombrick

Getting ballet drama with Natalie Portman? I'm half expecting an announcement that Avatar is actually a reboot of the Titanic franchise, Machete is being recast with Carlos Mencia as Machete, and Sam Raimi is going to waste his career directing World of Warcraft and Spiderman sequels ... oh wait

I hang my head in shame, and feel like an asshole! Sorry dude, I wasn't sniping at you so much as 'net users in general. Technically, one should never even start a sentence with "and" (capital "a" or not) as it's just bad grammar. I'm off to humbly thrash myself with a switch of thorns...

    We don't NEED edit buttons

    by d.vader

Whatever you said- you said. I like not having an edit button. It forces us to watch our writing a little bit more, or add a bit of humor by amending a previous statement ("Crap, I meant THIS... what was I thinking?"). What I don't like is every person who makes a mistake moaning about the lack of an edit function.

    by skimn

the antagonist is real, it's the heroine thats imaginary. The movie is from her viewpoint. Kind of like Fight Club, if Brad Pitt was the main character.
