The Trailer For WHITEOUT Is Now Online!!

Published at:  Jul 22, 2009 9:22:43 PM CDT

Merrick here...

IGN has posted the trailer for Dominic Sena's adaptation of the graphic novel WHITEOUT (amassed into two parts HERE and HERE respectively).

This stars Kate Beckinsale, which...despite her mega-hotness...often indicates a film is suspect. But, we'll see. You can view the trailer via the embed below, which originates HERE.

Wasnt this supposed to be based on the comicbook? If so... they apparently just took the snow and title because in the comic, its supposed to be about spys...

This is a fucking joke right? I laughed my ass off waiting to see some government agents taking shots at each other and what do I get? Killer snow.

On a side note I want to just suck on Kates pussy lips and eat her until my face develops Kates pussy warts all over it. God, that underworld director is a lucky mother.

    by chewtoy

I guess it's more of an adaptation of the sequel? Maybe? I don't know. I didn't care for the sequel, since it was too action oriented. The first one was a simple murder mystery in Antarctica, with a deadline to catch the killer before the end of the season when everyone would leave the continent. It was believable, whereas the sequel was all about spies and nukes and such... but even it didn't seem anywhere near as over-the-top as this trailer.

    1) The film finished shooting two years ago. That's a long fix-up time. 2) The narrator is reading aloud all the captions onscreen for us "slow-folk" 3) After stating it's in Antarctica, we still get a text readout at the bottom of the screen telling us we're looking at a research station in Antarctica.

A U.S. Marshal is in Antarctica because...

    by chewtoy

...the U.S. Marshal service provides law enforcement for the American section of the continent. Taken from the U.S. Marshall's website:

"Special Deputy U.S. Marshals greet all visitors to McMurdo Station, Antarctica, with a lecture and warns that serious crimes committed on the continent by Americans can be prosecuted in the United States."

One of the reasons I really liked the original graphic novel was that it took this interesting fact and explored it realistically, examining the complications of trying to solve a murder on a continent shared by 26 nations where nearly the entire population ships out and scatters around the world come the approach of winter. This movie trailer doesn't seem to be that kind of "police procedural in an insane environment" at all, unfortunately.
