The 4th photo which I assume is just a publicity shot - his arm has no scarring, and he's almost smiling... not really in a scary way.

    by pessimusgrime

...from this one considering the way he's pushing it. That said, though, I can't understand all the sudden Jackie Earle Haley-hate. Sure Watchmen sucked ass and Haley's Rorschach voice was almost as ridiculous as Christian Bale's Batman voice, but he was still the only decent performance in that entire mess.

yeah that's an old publicity shot, was also a poster but i'm assuming this is a version that wasn't meant to be seen because all the versions of that photo i've ever seen never show his wrist. so maybe thats like the original negative or whatever they call those.

Only Part One and Part Three are good. Power Glove is a hoot and the postmodern one is watchable. The rest are shit, with Part Two being a bowl full of chicken-fried wank.

    Looking hopeful.

    by hint_of_smegma

J Earle Haley was pretty cool as Rorschach....would definately be interested to see his version of Freddy. Am really hoping this is going to beat the odds and be an even bigger scare treat than the original was back in '84. It's gotta be better than all the sequels, anyway, so there's that at least.

    by theycallmemrtibbs

Of Freddy actually going after children like they hinted upon in Freddy vs. Jason (As well as the entire series) Then yes I would totally be interested in watching the remake because it would be different.

If he's chasing teenagers being portrayed by adult WB actors, I'll pass.

    Statute of Limitations?

    by silentjay

What is the limit on how soon a movie can be re-made? And, how should those who love the original react? Movies are good for a reason upon their initial production. They stand the test of time. They look cheesy "back then" b/c it's compared to today, which has monumentally more advanced FX technology. Plus, movies like NOLS and Friday the 13 and Halloween stood out back then b/c the blood and guts and scares in mainstream culture were not as prevalent, thus, it had more impact. Today, kids see worse things on Facebook every day. Thus, the power of these movies when juxtaposed with today's culture is lost on the viewer. It's unfortunate. Fuck these remakes. Fuck them up their stupid asses.

    by theycallmemrtibbs

At the beginning when the blond dude is having a nightmare and he wakes from it with a HUGE girlie scream from hell?

he chasing the teens he raped as kids

    by thepilgrim

Hollywood doesn't have the balls to give us the real world ground in reality laws goonies aged kids vs freddy or jason. Yet both battle grounds are the domain of children. Camps are for kids. Freddy is a child killer/molestor- Well newly crowned as a molestor. Bayer is saying they didn't use the script. Yes they did I read some of the location map info. They reworked them on set and came up with some new ones, but that leaked script was legit and it was still the backbone and it sucked ass!!!!!

Michael Jackson would have been great casting

    by turdontherun

for this Nightmare re-make. He had the hat, the glove, the disfigured features, and he preyed on young children.I'm only half-joking - it could have been a fantastic left-field casting choice actually, and a grotesque twist on his persona - not that he'd ever have agreed to do it, of course."Shaw'mon...bitch!" (dispatches young teen with knife-bladed sequinned glove).

    New Line isn't gone

    by mayorofsmpleton

New Line was bought by Warner Bros a long while back... they've been under the same umbrella company for a while. More recently New Line was almost fully absorbed. Warner uses it to release certain films (typically horror/sci-fi genre). He's Just Not that Into You is a recent New Line release, and if I'm correct THE FINAL DESTINATION will be from New Line as well.

because he is getting revenge on the PARENTS who burned him alove, by attacking thier kids (who have just happened to grown into teenagers now, because of how long the time difference was between when he died as a human, to come back as the dream-killer)

i don't think they are ever going to do freddy vs. jason vs. ash. although wildstorm did do a 6 issue comic series of it starting in 2007. too bad they couldn't turn that into a movie instead of a remake of nightmare. remakes always lose some if not all of what make the originals good.
